- Rodman replies to Ant from Leicester UKInteresting that they state up-front that we have all reached a distinguished level of success in our chosen professions / organizations; but, then want us to tell them what our industry and principal products / services are ? Wouldn't they know that already - if we were all so distinguished !
- JamesDitto to all the above...

- Yvonne replies to Eve| 5 repliesI've got a phone number for Stanford Who's Who - it's 001116316502140. I don't know if it's a scam or not, but they rang me and I fell for it. They taken $400+ out of our credit card and they have said they will be taking $12 a month til 2013 however I didn't know about the $12 a month until I got their mail. I've sent emails to try and stop the process but no one answers. I've rung VISA card and all they could advise is to close down that credit card and get a new one.
They did send the air flights though and a password to get into their website where you can update your products and services/awards etc but my husband wants to shut it down, but they have done what they said they would - I've just got to work out how to stop the process. I've left a message on the answering machine on the phone number above. Will let you know what happens. - Lisa in NJI just received the same faI just received the same fax. Glad I googled before I Completed the form. Thanks everyone!

- RobI got one too, in Melbourne lat April 2010. Same initials - JC - but this one was a guy, Joe Cousins and the phone number was 0011 163 1650 2140 2325. I was completely sucked in until he mentioned the payment - my antenna went up immediately. All other details are the same.
- Caller: Standord Who's Who
- MichaelDon't go near this one -- it is an out-and-out scam. They take your personal info for a "free listing" using a name of a who's who that sounds legit but doesn't exist as far as I can tell. They then follow up with a call (under a different company name) and play to your ego to get your credit card info and charge you for listing your info in a vanity who's who marked by dubious grammar, bad spelling, lax accuracy and with ZERO prestige. And good luck getting them to stop charging your credit card for whatever nonsense they claim you agreed to. They are ruthless once they get a hold of your credit card info.

- David replies to Yvonne| 1 replyGot the same phone call this morning from Stanford Whos Who. When they wanted my bank card details I told them no, send me something in writing first so that I can verify who you are. Never had any intention to pay just wanted to have a bit of fun with them and waste their time. They have tried to fax but I said I didn't receive anything. Now they have emailed me the lnformation. The first person I spoke to was Alysha Antonelli and the email was from Kate West the Customer Service Supervisor. Address is 410 Park Ave 15th Floor New York 10022. Email: stanfordwhoswho@aol.com. Have a look at their website www.stanfordwhoswho.com. It all looks alright but you can't get into the individual's details. Even if it was real what can a local real estate agent or small business possibly achieve from this service.
Be careful, IF IT SOUNDS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT'S MOST LIKELY NOT TRUE.
THE BEST WAY TO NETWORK IS THRU SMART ADVERTISING, FRIENDS AND CLIENTS.
Just think about what you want to achieve out of your business & what you need to do to get there. Make a plan of attack with procedures for each year. Remember Rome wasn't built in a day. Your business will be successful with patience and well thought out plan.
Good Luck. - lyn replies to Yvonnehello yvonne, sounds a familiar sory, and right where i am at this moment. i liked davids reply, very sensible. can you please tell me, did you use the voucher and actually reveive 2 round the world tickets. for the money spent, even that woiuld be worthwhile. i have requested a list of participating aorlines and hotles, but they have not answered. i live in NZ and i guess Air NZ dont recognize them. i dont know how you would reply to me, but happy for you to use my biz email: info@bushsandandsea.co.nz. many thanks
- LYN replies to DavidHello David, i had a similar experience. first Alysha Antonelli and then Blake Davis. I have managed to ring some concessions from him ((dropping the monthly $9 fee) and in writing, recording that there is no further fee outstanding. i must admit I was attracted by the 2 airline tickets, which would be worth the money. i have asked them to send me a list of participating airlines, and hotels and have had no reply yet. i can see the vouchers could be useful if you lived in the USA, but beyond there, probably not. It's also very poor form not to send the information in writing and to apply pressure that this is you only opportunity. You can access individuals once you join and have a code. I'm not convinced it is a scam, since the site does exist, but as you say, for a small biz, there are better ways to advertise. i am still likely to try and go through my banks 'fraudulent disputed transactions"
- unknownThis place is the biggest scam ever...all they do is put you in a book...who really freakin looks at this book? NO ONE!!!! and they are actually located in east islip, ny (long island) not manhattan as the website says. they are living large off of everyone else's hard earned $$$...and good luck getting any of it back!!! Try calling and reporting to the Better Business Bureau... sorry for all who were ripped off by the $1000's of dollars. :(
