They called me about an hour ago and I fell for it... I didn't give them any information that they didn't already have, but I said they could send me the package and bill me for shipping. I'm not too worried about losing that $1.95, but I'm really worried I'll get billed for all that crap. I plan on cancelling everything as soon as I get the package, but I'm worried I won't actually get any package or that I won't be able to get it cancelled in time. What should I do?

Keeps calling. Does not leave message. A few times I have answered the phone, unknowingly. One time a male caller stated that he knew my bank name and my bank account number. He told me that he was going to send me free checks after I answered his questions. I told him that I did not have a checking account, but he knew my bank and my full name, address and phone number. (He did have the correct bank). He then told me that my bank had given him information on me. I told him that I was going to call my bank. He began yelling at me in a loud voice. I hung up. My bank is not affiliated with this number. I receive multiple calls from this phone number on a daily basis, including very late at night. My caller ID shows the phone # 727 252-0516 and the name "Florida."

Contact the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint. Somewhere an individual posted a sample letter to send to the company demanding that they stop calling. I would send that letter to the telemarketer. I am doing to today and I am filing a complaint with the BBB also.

They called my wife and we fishing for details about my checking account. Gave her the last four digits and said something about a free trip.
Who do I report this to?

I finally answered knowing it would probably be a telemarketer and the chick on the phone knew the last four digits of my acct number. She started off by saying that I had won some trip and that she wanted to send me details. I figured it was junk mail so I said "whatever" later when I asked her how I could have possibly won sweepstakes she said I had made a purchase with my checking with one of their affiliate companies (which indeed I had), then she read off the last 4 digits of my acct, which any idiot could get off of a simple receipt. She never mentioned anything about charges, membership, anything, I was just worried that some outside company had my acct info, so I googled the number. The posts scared me so I put a hold on my checking acct....now I gotta go to the bank and change my acct number....ridiculous!!!!

Got a call from Travel Direct yesterdaY and really believed them when they said they had a promotion for me since I had purched a lot of tickets lately through their partner (which I had). Everything went well (for them) until after given my account number she wanted my date of birth. Then all alarmbells started ringing and I hang up and called my bank to block my account and then subsequently changed my account number.
I feel such a fool, but how on earth did they get all the information they had on me. I am renting a house short term, have a pre-paid phone and are on a visiting visa for a short period of time. Have not been buying anything on the net since I came here from Europe.
Glad I saw through the scam in time.

These people have continued to call my daughters cell number.  The last time they called she asked, "May I ask what this is in regards to?" The "gentleman", and I use that term losely, told her that it really was none of her business and to put me on the phone.  She told him that if he wanted to call and speak to someone on this number, regardless of who, that he needed not to be rude, he then told her, "What are you, like 12, why don't you just go play with yourself".... As soon as I get ahold of these [***]......

Yeah i started getting the calls today. I'm curious though, it seems that with all of these warnings, i have not yet found one person that can justify not completing this offer. I'm a broke college student, so i went ahead and decided i'd take a chance with this company. besides, if it is a scam they can go head and take all $40 from me.
Has anyone out there actually tried this offer, or is everyone just fearing the unknown?
