Called and confronted them with the fact that there are bad reports on them. they told me that they have my bank details but refused to give out where they got them. Told me that they are part of the BBB. Checked it out- they are there but it states that they are NOT a member, but rather they are there due to all the reports about them. Check it out your self. travel life go direct - enter that in at the BBB
The Assistant Manager screamed at me then hung up!

They called me today. I declined then called back and gave them what for. They had no idea who the "Partner" was that gave them my account info. They said to call customer service and they could tell me. Called them at 866-545-5417 and was told that they couldn't tell me either. Gave me the corporate address of 10500 Ulmerton Rd Suite 726-305, Largo, FL  33771. Told me I could send them a letter and they would tell me who the partners were. I asked to have all information about me deleted from their system. They said they would but i doubt it.

Your name, address and phone number are obtained through a third party company that they purchase it from. The third party company gets their information by the products you buy, or any other transactions you do that contains your personal information. They DO NOT and are NOT allowed to have or sell your SS#, DOB etc. Once the information is bought by companies like Suntasia, it is put into their dialer system to call you. The dialer clearly labels the list of names that are brand new leads and also how many times that specific list has been called. Unfortunately, this information is only seen by the manager of the room. He or she has access to it from the bridge (the big, high desk overseeing the agents when you enter the room).

Vericheck is a software system connecting Suntasia to all the banks nationwide that confirm whether you have an open checking account or not. Grocery stores, retail stores all use them to scan your checks to make sure your account is legit.

The only information the agent has on their computer at the time when they call you is your name, address and telephone number. That’s it. After they give you their mumbo jumbo script about how you qualified and the “free” gifts (gas, airline vouchers etc) you’ll be receiving, they tell you it’s a reward for maintaining an active checking and ONLY active checking account holders qualify. They ask you for your bank name and the city you opened it in. The reason is b/c they can obtain your routing number through what else? That’s right Vericheck! It is only then that many are fooled to believe that the agent has your account number as well. The excuse the agent uses is, “we need you to verify the number to make sure it’s you”, but when you call their bluff they either hang up or put a manager on the phone to push for the sale and get the account. Their tactics are slick even downright insulting.

They usually say that you made a purchase through one of their 400, 1000, 1700 affiliates (pick a number yourself) and that is how your name was entered into their system for this special promotion. ALL A BIG FAT LIE! Like I said before, they bought the names and numbers from another company for anywhere from .20 cents to up to .60 cents per name. Oh and by the way this same information that can be sold to another company by the people who bought them in the first place.

If you make them mad the agent can recycle your name back into the system. B9 is the code for DNC (Do Not Call List) on their system but unfortunately many times it is not used b/c they want to get back at you. The only way to get these people off your phone is by sending them a "certified" CEASE and DESIST letter to their corporate address. Donald Booth is their lawyer and the letter should be addressed to him. When they call again ask them for their FULL name and let them know they need to code your phone call as a B9 (Do Not Call), after you hang up with them.

This company was raided by the feds a couple of years ago. They were there to look at what the agents were saying over the phone with their scripts. This is why management watches the agents to make sure they are not using any other scripts but their own. Sadly many managers turn a blind eye when their top sellers re-word the script to their own liking just to make a sale. I have one of those scripts that are used.

If you visit other sites like google or ripoffreport.com and type in the search box “Suntasia Marketing” you will see there are many, many people out there ticked off just like the rest of you.

I too had just received a call from this company at my residence a short while ago.  Although I was not available to speak with them at the time they had asked for me,  they had proceeded to try to solicit my mother-in-law, who had answered the phone,  telling her that she had won a vacation along with a $400 gift.  They also told her that they needed to verify her account information and was phishing for her checking account number after obtaining her banking institution and the bank routing number.  When I overheard them wanting her account number, I then got on the phone with them to find out how they even got my unlisted phone number and who they were with.  I believe the person's name that I was speaking with was Samantha, who said that she was the shipping department manager.  I then had asked for the company's name and call back number which she gave as Travel Life at (877)777-2709.  I also asked for the company's website address which she gave as Travellifegodirect.com and she stated that they have been in business for the last 12 years and that they were registered with the BBB.  I than asked why they don't have the BBB logo on their website like other websites have and she responded that I could call the BBB to verify this.  While I was questioning her on my home phone, I was calling the customer service number that she had given me from my cell and asked the department where they got my name and unlisted phone number and they said that information was not in front of them and that I would have to email them from their website and that they would respond back to me by email as soon as they knew from whom they received my name.  After hanging up with the customer service department, I went back to Samantha to continue asking why she needed an account number to receive free informational materials and all she could say was that she needed this for verification and that a checking account was public information anyway.  I will say she was very persistent in trying to obtain this information and after a 30 min or more go around with her I finally told her to delete my phone number and any account information that she may have from her system and to not call here again. I then googled the phone number on my caller ID and came across your site.  Thank You for the information about this scam.

I have (thus far) received 2 calls on my cell from 727-252-0516 ~  didn't answer either one as I didn't recognize the number. Caller left no message. The first call was at 2:24pm EDT 4/11/07; the second at 1:38pm EDT 4/12/07. Using reverse phone lookup, the information I received is that the number is registered to "Beck" (no last name) in Tampa Fl on Business Telecom FL phone service.

I had read of this scam last week, although there was no phone number mentioned in the article. This scam seems particularly insidious since the caller indicates that he/she has the recipient's bank account/credit card information and only needs the PIN/security number to qualify recipeint for "reward". Hope this crooks can be shut down soon.

Got several calls on my Caller ID from this number, finally answered it to get them off my back.  The woman said I had made a purchase qualifying me for a free vacation 3/2 and $400 in airline vouchers.  She asked me where I bank.  I told her I didn't trust her, gave her a random bank name.  She then read me a routing number (not mine) and I said it was mine then she asked me to confirm my checking acct number - gave her the wrong number.  She also asked what my exact name on my acct is and asked me to make a password.  After that, she said you will here a beep and I will ask you these same questions again to record it for security purposes.  She said, Don't hang up.  I hung up anyway and am calling my bank, the police dept and the better business bureau to report this crime.

I just received a call from this company claiming all the above and when asked to give my account number, I didn't qand the girl gave me this website and I hung up.  I don't have caller id but most of the time it is a teller marketer and we don't answer.  Thanks for the tips, because most of the time they are legitimate time shares or a well known company.

They kept calling me, and I finally answered. I spent at least 15 minutes on the phone saying NO NO NO. They persisted. I didn't give them any information, all I did was say that they had my address right. I *hope* that doesn't give them anything, but we shall see. IT IS A SCAM. WATCH OUT!

She called to inform me that I had won a 4-day trip somewhere for having maintained a checking account.  They insisted that they would send me some publicity, and that it was my option to purchase.  She needed confirmation of an account number, having had my  residential address.  I told her that I did not feel comfortable with giving that information over the phone.  She hung up (I think) and I immediately calledmy bank to put a watch on my account.

Okay, so yeah, I've been getting the calls also. I've even (thanks to some of you) Tracked down the phone number and ad. I searched for a sat. Image on goole (I love the internet) and found the adress to be in the middle of an intersection...hm...it's either that for the small building a 100 yards away. SO, my phone services said they didn't give it out and my bank said they didn't give it out. So the best thing to do is give them hell or don't answer so they will stop calling.

They called me in the middle of a nap, and I think I groggily consented. They're still calling me. I transferred my checking moneys to savings and canceled my old checking account. I really wish they would stop lying to me.

I got this number calling twice too. I recently got charge from my bank account. The description for the charge is like a telephone number. I called the number to ask what was going on. A lady picked up and started to ask for my information (last, first name, date of birth, and last 4 digits of social security), and she knows my address and of course, my account number. She was explaining the charge was for unemployment insurance, which I do not remember I ever heard of that. I then searched for that number 1-800-260-9883 and it led me to a website of suspicious numbers and that number is included. I am so scared. Seems as if someone knows everything about me and they can just harm me anytime and any way they one too. What can I do to not be harmed?
