Received call from that # and they had problem because nothing happened but my brother in law had call from same # and they offered im a cruise that he won, he did not dial 9 and hang up. Called Bell and they gave me a number in Quebec province where you call and they will stop all telemarketing call for your phone, it's a free service but not a Bell services, it's related to Telemarketing Association.

I live in Calgary and just got a call from 727-831-2410.  I didn't recognize it, so I didn't answer, they hung up on the voice mail.  In the past I have received NUMEROUS call from 407-965-0600, which is also a scam. I use Telus as a service provider, not Dristributel.

Two calls within one hour, asking that I press 9 to claim my free trip.  But I'm not that stupid.  I stayed on the line for a while to see what else came up, and there was a different recorded voice (a male this time) asking that I press 8 to be removed from their list.

My family just received the call........My dad passed the phone off to me and, stupid me, I pressed 9.  I was then transferred to a live representative who said....

"Hi, who am I speaking with?"

    "(Game my name)"

"Well, (Name), this call is just to inform you, that you've been duped.

    Hang up.

This happened about 5 minutes ago, which is 1:30 P.m. Eastern, on May 1st.

Recieved the same call,  called telus and asked if they could block the number.  I dont want my kids to answer the phone and press 9.  Who knows what might happen..  Better re enforce phone rules to the kids about how and when and whys of phones.  The internet reverse search says this is a cel phone.  TElus says I can block this number - for a fee - or use my caller id to block it by not accepting annoymous call and routing them through my voice mail.

pressed 9 cuz hey, free cruise right?
Nice old british lady on the other end, gave me her name and 'id' then procedded to waste 5 minutes of my time telling me that if I bought into a timeshare type deal I could get a free cruise. Did not seem like they were going to steal my phone number and make $1000 calls.

got the message, I'm in Vancouver BC also, at first I thought it was a joke because my friend has a perfect voice for automated messages, and then abruptly, it jumped to waiting music and then someone picked up, it sounded like whoever it was was in a cafe or restaurant and then abruptly hung up.

Just phoned telus privacy center and chatted with a surprisingly helpful representative and she informed me they are looking for business lines only. Apparently if a business presses nine then they can seek out your personal info etc etc, (due to a faulty line being opened) but it could be she's covering Telus's ass, but either way she said that residential lines do not work this way and I have nothing to worry about. I figure since calls are recorded and monitored that to call your phone service provider and forewarn just in case like I did that any calls out of the ordinary shouldn't be there that that's the best way to do it.
