Got the call today... didn't answer thanks to the posts here (that I found from Google).

Thanks everybody and just wanted to add to the incident list. I'm in London, Ontario.

My daughter answered a call from this number--"you've won a free carribbean cruise".  She naively dialed 9 and listened to recorded music.  Is there really a problem with others accessing our long distance now?  Anyone out there with experience with this problem?

Just got the call too.  I pressed 9 and told the guy I was excited about my free trip.  He told me I wasnt going because you have to be at least 21.  I replied, "I'm 34 and I'm packing right now!"

I was then spun into the demon dialer and could listen to it making the calls.  I finally got fed up waiting to tell the jack*sses where to go and dropped the call.

1-727-831-2410 called and said I won a cruise, I pressed 9, I waited on hold for 20 minutes, nothing happend..... no cruise .... I figured it was scam.....So I came on to this site and I see that hundreds of Canadians over the last few months have reported this and no one at Bell, Telus, Rogers or even the Government is doing anything to stop this. So we Canadians continue to let this number call us and call us and all we do is write a little blog and let this BS continue. Gheesh!!!

Hi! me to i recive this message and i'm from quebec in the little city of asbestos and i recive a message from somebody in my mail box that saying that lot and lot of people in my city (around 10 000 population) had recive this call. I don't listen the message to the end i only ear «you won a trip in the carribean!» And i hung up.

If you get more than one line you can press hold then call the P.D. of your city

I just received this call.  They have called at least a dozen times before both during the day and in the late evening (9-10pm).  Each time I am offered a trip to Mexico for $299.  I have pressed 9 and asked them to remove my name from the list...but I guess thats not an option.

Received a call  from this number today.  It was an automated call that I won a trip (again!!!! Wow eh!).  I held on and it said pressure 9 to speak to a live operator and press 8 to be removed from the calling list.

It's gone beyond harassment now.. They call in the middle of the night and our own useless Telus can't do anything unless we 'purchase' protection from them..

They've called twice this week and haven't left vm's.  Ottawa Ontario.

Same thing as above.  The call gets forwarded to my cell after 20 seconds, when I do answer, no one is there.  I am a customer of Vonage in Southern Ontario.

I like this web page, it's good to know others share the same concerns.

This may explain the calls to some degree.  Basically it says, "if you have a PBX system at your business you may be vulnerable".  Home users and cell phone users have been protected from this attack through the service providers.  As always, just don't press anything.  Caveat Emptor!

I just got the same phone message today saying i'd won a free, all inclusive trip to the Caribbean. It said to call 1-866-558-7996 to claim my prize.  I figured it would be one of those scams that charge you for minutes, so I didnt call the number.

These guys called me and told me I won a free cruise, and then proceeded to try to sell me a trip for 4 for 3days/4nights in Orlando with 2 free theme park tickets, and 2days/3nights at a beach area of my choice in florida, and then the free 2 night cruise.  Also, I would have to do a 90 minute walk-through for a time share/condo pitch.  All in all, it didn't sound like a bad deal, but then she said I had to 'reserve' it NOW by giving them my credit card number, and then they would send me the info via email and brochures.  After asking her if I could wait until I had received the email and brochures to pay for it, she hung up on me.  I talked to two people there, and the names were Doug ID#741, and Kristy Moore ID#: 27

I have received many calls from this number too! (Rural Manitoba). We screen our calls so no one answers, yet they persist.
