- Kathy L. Tacoma WashingtonGot a call from these people tonight, but I hung up. I also got a post card in the mail just about 3 days ago from these guys. Said they are trying to update their alumni directory for Nogales High School? I have NO idea where that is. Said I was from class of 71. Dont even know anyone from that area. How can I keep them from calling me? Let me know anyone.
- Caller: directory ofc
- lizCalls 1-2 times a day several times a week. After listening to their speal about wanting to update their profile on me, I tell them NO, NOT INTERESTED, and ask to be removed from their list. They say, "Oh sorry." and hang up. But I never get removed from their list, because I keep getting the calls. I have contacted customer service for Harris Connect and when I tell them I am not interested and to please remove me from their list, I get hung up on. If they are legit, why do they act that way?
- Caller: Directory OFC
- ???My caller id displays: 757 962 8857
They left a 2:26 minute blank voice mail on two calls back to back.
Very annoying... - LisaCalled me, I updated my info because it was around my reunion time but I declined to purchase a book since it was so expensive. Never got a book in the mail, but they kept sending me "bills." I thought they were BS so I trashed them. I never ordered a book, right? No, years later it is on my credit report as a collection and the collection agency is a bigger bunch of jerks than Harris Connect. Lady barely let me explain why I was calling, so I guess she hears from a lot of pissed off people. Anyway, she said in 6 years of her working there, that they've only removed one collection report from someone's credit. Beware, these people are sneaky and it will take me forever to get this corrected.

- wb replies to Rayi received a call from this number this afternoon and it sounded like an obscene phone call. very scary!!!
- bruce replies to tom| 1 replyYou no longer have to worry about your "Do Not Call" registration expiring:
This is from the "www.donotcall.gov" site:
"Your registration will not expire. Telephone numbers placed on the National Do Not Call Registry will remain on it permanently due to the Do-Not-Call Improvement Act of 2007, which became law in February 2008. Read more about it at http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2008/04/dncfyi.shtm." - JSNO ONE TALKING... someone on the line
- Willam Gall| 1 replypicked up, no one talked.
- Caller: Harric Collect
- John R.The caller asked for my dad. (For some reason, some online directories list my number with his name.) I told the caller he had the wrong number and hung up. I figure anyone who really needs to reach my dad already knows his number.
- dee replies to JulieMamaThe same thing is happening to us. They are demanding payment and we never ordered the book although we did receive it. I called them and offered to return it registered mail and they said they will not take it back. They also offered 30% off if we "cleared this matter up today." I told them I was going to the better business bureau and they got very huffy.
- Kris replies to single young motherI got that too, someone left me a message and was just breathing heavy.
- John and MeganWatch out for these scheisters!!! They have harrassed us, been rude, sent us an alumni directory we didn't want or need, and have now reported us to a collection agency. They claim they have us on a recording saying we wanted their overpriced ($100!!!) directory. Now we have to send a letter to the collection agency to get permission to hear our telephone recording. Supposedly it's our fault because we didn't return the alumni directory within 30 days. I can't wait to hear the recording. By the way, the collection agency (Chase) was rude, too. Looking forward to reporting them to the BBB once this is all cleared up. Why would anyone pay for this stuff when they can get all this info for free on the internet?

- angryI have filed three complaints with various attorney generals. One DA actually called me back and am intereted in seeking criminal charges and civil fines. I hope someone at Harris goes to jail and heavily fined.
Trust me filing complaints with the government works. Keep in mind, every complaint equals $$$ fines for the scam artists.- Caller: Harris
- jones| 1 replyREPORT THEM TO THE GOVERNMENT! The government is starving for cash given the current economic landscape, help the government collect from scam artists so we don't need to pay extra taxes. Someone needs to pay for the deficit and might as well be Harris.

- 757-962-8857Definitely spammers/scammers of some sort - Best to avoid them like the plague of locusts that they are.

- surfetteCall repeatedly. Do not leave message on answering machine, so I will not return the call. I didn't realize that these were the same people sending me those cards about my high school alumni book. I live less than a mile from my high school, know where my friends are and what they are doing and the rest, I don't care about. I didn't answer the postcards because I figured that it was some kind of a scam to buy a book. Glad I've never responded.

- Karla Waiterepeated phone calls for weeks, never anyone on the other end.
- 1-757-962-8857| 1 replythe message my phone recorded was from somebody who said he was from Arizona State Univercity(?) , he had received a book and I have to call him back, and it would take me just a couple of minutes.
I have not studied in USA at all, and of course, I did not call him, but... I counted over hundred complaints before mine beginning May 2007, and this is just the tip of the iceberg. What is the legal way to complain and make them pay for it?
