    Seriously....calling me at work?
I am assuming they are calling about an update to my alma mater's registry but I really don't care.  I don't appreciate being called at work about this sort of stuff.

    Aggravated by BS phone calls
I received a call from 757-962-8857 not even smart enough to block their number although it's clear from the number of posts they're scam artists, so they called today, you wait and wait and no one comes on the line.  I dialed back the number and they have 4 'options', 1) add your info 2) place your order 3) remove you from calling list 4) hear the list of options again ... I tried 3 for obvious reasons, but at the end none of the options actually do anything and eventually you get pissed off and hang up.  Would be nice if some 'companies' could actually find real business to do instead of just pissing folks off and trying to scam.  Or maybe they're just some perverts who enjoy logging on to a site like this and seeing that they got some folks all spun up.

You're saying that everyone posting on this thread has no lives? You're just going online and standing up for a telemarketer for what reason because you have a life? Oh yeah because you work for Harris Connect. Don't be so obvious joker.

Calls incessantly day after day after day.  It's harassment.

Note to the several people fighting collections - if someone asks to confirm information for a "directory" - always ask FIRST if confirming the information will result in a product (book, CD, whatever).  If so, expect a charge.  If you don't want the product, decline to confirm their information.  If they are evasive in their answers, decline to confirm the information.  Learned this from a similar call made to a business I worked at.  Another employee innocently confirmed the information, but the collection calls were sent to me.

If you want to mess with them, I suppose you could give them the address to Wrigley Field (ala The Blues Brothers).

I see that I am on page nine of complaints about this number.  That really says something about how persistent this company is.

    What time is it?
After the first call from this number, I directed all calls from this business to the local time and temperature recording. Caller ID shows up, but my phone does not ring, so I am no longer bothered by their unrequested calls. Sunny skies are ahead.

No ... actually they are anything but Legit . I and my wife both called all our Alumni associations from HS straight thru Gad school  to see if they'd hired this company to collect data on us and to a number each and every one gave  an emphatic N-O !

Harris is a phone scam pure and simple who's intent is to collect data ... as well as funds if possible on you for further use

Best advice ... either do not pick up ... or hang up if you do ! FYI requesting them to remove you from their list only results in even more frequent calls .. which is another ' Tell ' that Harris is anything BUT legit !

Until I came on here today, I never would have connected this phone number with the postcards I received asking me to call and update my information for an alumni publication from my college.

Like others have mentioned, I got two postcards over the course of a month asking me to call in and confirm my information and make sure my "listing is correct".  However, I had a gut instinct to not respond because they sent it in my first married name, which it was when I graduated in '93, but at my new, current address of the house that I just bought in my second married name less than a year ago.  To make it even more odd, I lived in California for several years and just moved back and bought this house, so any address changes would be from a Los Angeles address in my current name.  There just shouldn't be any way for all these names and addresses to add up and connect to me here and now since the name they're looking for me with hasn't been correct for 15 years.  I'm not on the lam or trying to stay underground, LOL, but it doesn't make sense how they even got to me correctly.

Then I started coming home from work and seeing 'Harris Pri Ani' on the caller ID, but no messages ever left by whomever was calling.  This morning on a day off they called again and I answered, thinking maybe I was getting yet another call for the last person who had my number; I just had a landline put in and I get tons of collection and skip tracing calls for her.  I was surprised when they asked for me by that old married name.  I just replied that there was no one here by that name.  (Truthfully, there ISN'T anyone here with that legal name!) He just apologized and said that "I'll find her another way."  To further emphasize how much this all doesn't make sense, the listing for my landline is under my current married name also, like my change of address from California would have been, yet he called it and asked for the first, old married name.

Well, I came here to look the number up and found this.

SO glad I didn't respond to the postcards or identify myself to the caller.  Sounds like confirming any of your graduate info gets you a whole lot of trouble with a big scam that involves collections and a black mark on your credit.  I graduated from Davenport University in Michigan, and they totally make the postcards look like they're coming from the university itself, or at least they're someone sanctioned by the university to be compiling this info for them.  Now, of course, I can read between the lines and see that it only says 'Publication Office for - Davenport University'...they must be the publication office for all the schools.  Sounds like a lot of people here have contacted their schools and the response is that none of them have this company working for them.  There has to be a way of reporting these clowns... I mean they have Davenport's logo on the card and someone's name on it claiming to the be director of alumni relations for the university.  I can't believe the schools haven't tried to put a stop to this.

Why waste time and expectations with the DNC list?  There is no system set up to actually ENFORCE it.

When you see something strange or unknown on your Caller ID, simply:

                                            Don't answer it

Some hang up calls can be tolerated, but not excessive from the same number.  It is just plain rude to keep calling and hanging up.   How easy it would be to say "sorry wrong number".  Don't keep calling someone and hanging up.
