The universities and organizations that Harris Connect prints these books for have ALL agreed in writing for Harris Connect to publish the books. Harris agrees to “update” their student information in exchange for relentlessly marketing an overpriced book to you. These directories are usually outdated and very little of the information is updated. The universities and organizations rely on Harris Connect’s “updated” information so that they can also mail out solicitations to “beg” alumni for more and more money. So, get angry at the universities and organizations who secretly agree for Harris Connect to harrass you on their behalf. Harris Connect’s system of rewarding employees for selling directories is also very unfair and “set up”. It’s a fraud. They have a system set up that only allows a select few to make any real commission. They have their calling lists and compensation system down to an exact science. This is set in place so that they can keep as much profit as possible. Don’t buy these directories. If they send you out the information card, it is best to call and be placed on a Do Not Call list. Otherwise your university of organization will keep allowing Harris Connect to call you forever and ever as long as you are an alumni or member. Better yet, write the university and tell them that if they keep allowing your name to be used, you will not give anymore money to your university or organization. The bottom line is that this company is making millions of dollars every month selling overpriced garbage.

I Just filed a complaint w/ my state's Attorney General's office. Also a good idea to contact your university - if you really have one. I understand they're calling a lot of folks who don't have a university background.

Ok, I can understand these calls can be a bit annoying. But why hide behind your phone??? If its Harris Connect, which is a legitimate company... Just answer the call! if you dont want to provide some info, then dont. You have a chance to opt out. if you dont want to be included in the book, then say so! they will have you omitted. If you simply dont want them to call you, simply answer the call or call them back and ask to be remove your number and they will gladly remove you from their list. They arent out to scam anyone, they are hired by YOUR organization to complete their updates, for special events, reunions, networking, etc. And if you complete an update you will be given an option to purchase a copy of publication and be asked twice since they only print exactly whats reserved when they close the project. So simply say your not interested, and end of story. But WOW!!! what is the bug fuss about it. If its too over-priced, DONT BUY. If you dont want the calls, SAY SO!! this is simple guys. Quit hiding behind the phone and complaining in a public forum and grow up.

Incorrect. This is not a reputable company. Information may be released, but there is no contract with the School they "represent." It is a scam. If you give them info you will be sent a book with no return address and sent to collections.

Hey, moron.  Have you not been reading these posts.  People are getting stuff they didn't order and getting billed for nothing.  You try to tell them but they keep calling.  You must work for them, or you just can't read.  You have no room to insult people when you are an idiot yourself.

Ok you don't seem to understand. These callers try to use scare tactics into getting money out of people who have no clue and who obviously don't conduct their own research. So go easy on the people who post. Thanks.

Tell him. He must work for them. I beleive some of these scam companies have employees go onto these sites and read up and comment, so it doesn't look bad when the FCC, FTC and The BBB come after them. News flash they will get caught, it may not be today, it may not even be tomorrow, but one day when they least expect it.

Now thats classic! I love this one.. hahahahaha. They have no integrity, they are a scam and they do not care if you are going through difficult times, a death in the family etc etc.. They lie to you and they make the reps say these things because it is scripted. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with these JOKERS. The management is the worst and they treat the reps very bad. Put your self on the DNC list, yell at them and hang up. DO NOT TALK TO THEM,,,

Our family has been repeatedly called by the above phone number (Directory OFC, and/or publication office of Harris Connect).  After reporting the number to the gov't "Do Not Call List", I also called Harris Connect to have our number removed.

Simply follow the voice prompts to be removed from their "company Do Not Call List" (press #3, then enter your phone number).

They called for my husband several times.  Today, I responded, until they asked for his social security number.  I asked if they were crazy, said I would never give that out and would answer no more questions, then I hung up.

Just so you know this happened to me. I am in the middle of fighting them now. I never recieved a book. But I did answer the questions like your husband did and started getting a bill for 98.00. Now that I am trying to get a house it showed up on my credit. So, now I have to fill out a paper and turn it in to all 3 credit burrows stating that I am fighting to have this off my credit. I wish you guys the best of luck!
