Received several phone calls early in the morning from 765-283-3176.  I would get hang up voicemail messeages.  I also do not answer my cell phone while I am at work.  By the 5 in one day, I finally got a snippet of a voice message that stated they were from Sallie Mae, and it hung up.  I contacted the toll free Sallie Mae number directly.  You have to contact Sallie Mae directly in order for the calls to stop, even if you have already arranged to make a payment.

If I'm even 2-3 days late with my payment on my loan they call from 8 Am to 9 PM, literally at least 12 times a day. Every day, though I think maybe less on Sundays (probably only 6-8x).

Also, they use an auto dialer. Until your payment has cleared and that info is in their system, they will continue to call your phone.

If you answer a call when you've already paid they will see that on their screen and will be very polite, but their system will still keep calling your number until Sallie Mae gets your money.

You can tell them to stop calling you at your workplace, since I know here in CT businesses are not allowed to call you at your workplace for any reason, other than if your business does business with them, and even then, they cannot call you for personal business such as late payments, etc.

I get a call that is a recording saying to hold on so I may speak with someone. The call never last longer then 20 seconds before they hangup.

Had received several calls from MCC/Sallie Mae from several numbers including 765-283-3176.  I advised Sallie Mae several times this week that if the calls did not stop, since I leave for work before 6 am and do not get back until after 10 pm, that any calls received from MCC or Sallie Mae would be recorded.  MCC Called tonight, and ironically enough Sallie Mae, from the same number (surprise, surprise).  They both were advised that the call was going to be recorded, and MCC hung up, from what I was told in an email.  

Also, Sallie Mae was advised that if the calls did not stop, a complaint would be filed with my states Attorney Generals Office, and I just finished the paperwork a little while ago....  I will post the results here when I get them back...

Yes, I believe that they are the Sallie Mae collections people, but it seems they are given your number before your loan deferments expire so you can be harassed early or something! It took me several weeks to figure out who they were since the stupid people never leave a message and sometimes their caller id comes through as "unidentified".

Wake up people! So I'm supposed to answer the phone for some unknown weirdo who never leaves a message? What's the plan exactly? I'd get so curious I'd call back and then stay online with an anonymous answering service and then give you my account information including my ssn? How incredibly stupid is that for a business protocol? You folks had better pray that my personal info that you trusted to these idiot affiliates doesn't get misused.

My Solution: Make sure you call Sallie Mae directly and only talk with SM reps about your private info, then you don't have to deal with their "customer _no_ service" people who are simply taught to harass people. That way they don't get any credit for contacting you successfully.

Solution: Add their numbers to your phone book and call them "SM collections" or "Jerks" or something like that. At least you'll know to send it to voicemail and don't bother wasting your time answering it.

These people call about every two months looking for an employee who has not been here in 3 years! I keep asking them to take us off of their contact list, but they always call back. I understand it must be frustrating for them, but we are not the ones who owe them money.

They have called and called my home, cell phone and work number.  My account is current and I've spoken on several (6 calls to be exact) occassions to "agents" and supervisors and they are all EQUALLY RUDE AND INEPT. They keep saying they've fixed the problem but never actually do, and keep calling. Does anyone know how to formally place a complaint against them?

If you don't have a loan with them, they will call and bug you if you happened to have been put down as a reference on the borrower's application.  They do this to ensure they get a hold of the borrower in one way or another, even if it means harassing someone who is not a borrower.  It's automated, on a loop, to call every certain number of hours/minutes.

Well they've started calling my new number, which must have been someone with a past due account before. California state laws say I can ask them to stop calling me only by mail, so does anyone have the mailing address of these guys?

This is the company that is calling on behalf of Student Loan if you are behind on payments. They are a debt collection company.

These people are by far the rudest people. I have stated several times that I am not the person they are looking for as I have never taken out a student loan in my life. They call with different phone numbers and call at least 10 times a day starting @8AM. I can't count how many times I have told them I am not who they are looking for. They always ask for the last 4 of my social. That is none of there business. If you keep calling the number back you will get through and when you do ask for a supervisor.

These people actually claimed that they WERE Sallie Mae and not an outsourced collection agency.  We are late making this payment--by about three weeks--but we have been paying for more than 14 years.  They are horrible people.

I get calls from the MCC folks about 2 times a day and about 4-5 times a day from Sallie Mae, including weekends.  I answered the MCC caller twice and both times it is silence, no one is there.  My son has two loans, the first one I co-signed and the second loan that he qualified himself, but because Sallie Mae has my info from the first loan, Sallie Mae is harassing me because my son has a default from his own loan.  I have spoken to them on several occasions and they just don't care who or what they are doing wrong, they just want a payment, but again that is not the loan I co-signer for, they claim they have an e-signature approval. Screw e-signature, what ever happen to protecting the consumers on identify theft.
