I subscribed to Collegiate Prep Center (CPC) for a 30 day trial to receive software to research college grants and scholarships for my son. I received a package from Grants for Citizens - a disc that gave info for grants for businesses. Thinking this was the product sent by CPC, I called thier number and cancelled the subscription. They instructed me to send the disc back to thier distribution center on Jutland Drive in San Diego, CA. When I received my credit card statement, I was charged $199 from CPC on 6/27 and several charges from GrantEZ ( I thought Grants EZ was Grants for Citizens.) After several weeks of trying to settle this mess with CPC, I ended having an all day "discussion" with David Michel, the owner of Collegiate Prep Center and he insisted that I received their package and must have subscribed to both services. He sent me the shipping confirmation and COINCIDENTALLY, the package was sent from their distribution center, University Prep, on Jutland Drive in SanDiego, CA. To make matters worse, he called me at 8:30 PM the same night to again reiterate his frustrations and when I reiterated my frustrations, he hung up on me!! Great business practice skills!!! I have sent a coplaint to the BBB and my credit card companyabout CPC and as soon as I find out about the unauthorized charges from GrantEz, I will do the same. All this to try to help my kid get through college a little easier.

I was hired as a telemarketer with another 6 or so people off of an ad on craigslist.University Prep Center / College Career Center/ Smart education foundation, American education foundation all under the same umbrella) It was supposed to be 2 weeks on $8/hr plus $50 commission on each sale.

After two days in a seedy little office in Rancho Cucamonga (that was supposed to be under some corporate office in San Diego), Rick (Richard Shwartz) announced that he was not going to pay us the hourly anymore, but commission only.

Most people quit the next day or the day after. Then came the surprise! He did not want to pay us! He paid one girl on 3 hours of "talk time" for the 30 hours she worked! Then he tried to pay $10/deal.

This man is the biggest con man out there. If you have been scammed by him, report it to the employment authorities and BBB. His phone number is 909-486-0007.

The 'most innovative, informative, and interactive SAT/ACT tutoring program in the industry today!' consisted of a few sample questions and a grand total of about 20Meg of program *and* data on 2 CDs.

The enclosed letter says the money back guarantee doesn't include the shipping, but I am going to dispute the entire amount since it's not even close to what was advertised.
The ACT test is not even given as an option in the computer program--only the SAT.

Returned their product under their stated return policy and have not seen a refund, going on 4 months. Lots of phone calls to them only get voice mail options, live person will not answer their phone, you have to leave a message! Don't fall for this bs

Went to website and emailed them to take me off their call list...don't know if it'll work, thanks for the info!

Just got a call from them, they asked if (and using my first and last name) my parents were home, i started to say no on is home (only got to "no one") and asked why they called but the guy said they would call back later then hung up.
so i called the number back, got a voicemail saying it was Smart Education.

I keep getting phone calls from this same number, or similar numbers with the same story.  I kept the lady talking without revealing info. I asked her where they got my son's name. Typical answer: he expressed interest at a college fair. My reply: No he wasn't at a college fair. Wonder where you got his name. Her reply, maybe at an SAT presentation. No, he wasn't at an SAT presentation, where else do you think it could have been? I kept this up for about 5 guesses. Then she said is your son in 10th or 11th grade? Yes. She asks again and my reply is Yes.  She says which grade, I say isn't it on your paper?  It's one of those grades.  She replies no.  Then she says is he planning to go to college.  I say, sorry, repeat your question? I ask her to do this tow more times.  Then I say, I am not quite sure, isn't it on the form he completed? She says no. Then she says wouldn't I like to see his SAT score 300 points higher?  Really, I could see his SAT score?  Can I see the actual SAT test? she just kept answering my questions. Then she says I can access them on the web. I tell her I have no access. She tells me I can buy a CD, I say give mew a minute to think.  I wait a little and then say, I am still thinking can you keep waiting. I then tell her I don't have a home computer, but I do have a PC.  She just kept going on.  I finally say, am I wasting your time.  Oh no, she says.  I then say, That's too bad, because that is my intent.  I tell her this is the 3rd time I have asked them not to call my house.  I ask her if I say I want removed from their call list how long am I on that list.  She says forever.  I said funny, because it has to be at least 10 years before you can call me back, or your company can be subject to a lawsuit.  Click.  My suggestion.  Ldad them on. Offer to give a card number, start giving some bogus numbers, then say, Oh wait that is my grocery store discount card.  Alright, ready now, and start giving another bogus number.  Then, Oh wait that is my discount card for the pharmacy.  Hold on while I get my purse.  WASTE THERE TIME!!!  I know this further waste your time, but it might truly get them to leave you alone!

Caller ID said 'Unknown Name". When I answered the caller asked to speak to "Alisa's Mom and Dad". I pointed out to him that he had the wrong number. He thanked me and hung up.

Have not answered yet, that is why I pay for caller ID!
Starting to annoy me though! We are on the DNC list!

Several calls from this number.  No one answers from the other end.  No one leaves a message when we don't answer.

I have asked these idiots repeatedly to take our name off their call list. They keep calling regarding our son William Bradley regarding PSAT test.

They call my hosue every morning at 7 but never leave a msg. I never took the PSAT or the SAT yet and yet they are still calling me so it cant do to that test.
