    Smart Ed. Foundation
Just called by brother's phone looking for my daughter, he said he was her uncle, the guy hung up; my bro then called me, to tell me...funny though, they used my maiden name, I called the number back...got the name and googled it.  Got this site...guess it's scam....can't be too careful.

I worked for them for 2 weeks before I realized it was a scam.  They ARE the real Smart Education Foundation but it is a scam.  There are 2 locations, California and Chicago.  The one in Chicago is located an office that used to be an apartment.  It even has a garage door on it.
The calls are on auto-dial so if no one says anything it's because the machine hasn't connected you to a person yet.
We were trained to ask for the kid's mom or dad and read from a one page script. I realized it was a scam in the first couple of weeks (and quit) because the owner David Mishel and his partner David DeSanto would dodge calls from parents calling for a refund (sometimes in tears).
They also offer the employers hourly pay but end up paying them by the minute the are on the phone so they are also scamming the employees.
Other employees told me that even if we add someone to the "do not call" list that the names are never taken out of the system.

Lots of calls on caller ID finally on a sick day they reached me asking for my daughters parents, I replied this is her father. Went into sales pitch, sounded good, a little expensive, but thought might help. Told rep from Smart Education too call back had to check card balance. Then checked with wife and internet. Internet told different story, thanks everyone for sharing, you are in our prayers hope all is returned to you and yours 10 fold. We will warn our community. The # on caller id was 773-698-6064.

Hey guys, that Smart Education Foundation is the new name for University Prep Center who has a class action lawsuit against them for fraud. People were told that their kids signed up but they really didn't. They buy list from schools for students that are in their 2nd and 3rd year of high school. And they tell you they have a scholarship list. They do, but you don't get any applications to fill out for the scholarship. It's a lie. Don't be fooled by this company.

Calling to sell test help material for SAT/ACT. I called back and the recording said they are The Education Foundation. They have called before trying to sell their program for my youngest person in my household.

So I got a call the other day and was almost convinced that I wanted this material. They first asked for my parents and I said they weren't available so I could talk instead. But now it seems to me that I'm better off without this scam, which everyone is calling it, and useless, expensive material.

What is the material called at Borders? Any specific name?
Congrats on your son's 2260 by the way, that's a marvelous score!

Have received 2 calls from these people. The first one, the guy talked to my husband saying that my daughter signed up for some SAT prep material. He had no idea and asked if he could call them back after he checked with his daughter & his wife. The guy said it was a one time deal and if he didn't order right then & give them his credit card, then it was no deal! My husband thought that was really suspicious. The truth is, my daughter was in a SAT prep course at school & therefore had no need of the mail order program! Well they just called again...trying to give me the same schpeel..and I let the guy know that MY DAUGHTER DID NOT SIGN UP FOR ANYTHING and he immediately hung up!!

May I know how much you paid for the package?

i received a call too and was offered one month free access to online tutors, professors, college tour, scholarship info and also ACT/SAT prep program
Person claim that this is an investment you can use again if you have other kids to prep of this testing in the future, just have to refresh it

I am waiting to receive the package for the trial period. It appears all negative comments except yours so little concern about the deal this person asked me to commit to. I think i have a month to exit out of this still, but would be good to know more about your experience and money you spent

    Thanks!

Someone called my house number from the number 1-773-698-6064 on 03/05/10 @8:04PM. We let the answering machine pick up. A message was left saying; "This is [***]", then they hung up. I guess someone's not very happy with their telemarketing job :-(

If this is for those who took the PSAT or the SAT, then they are barking up the wrong trees. My daughter is 6-years-old! She's not ready for either test.
