Just got a call from this number. They asked for the parents of a totally random person (not my name or the name of anyone I know). Told them "wrong number". They hung up.

Smart Education Foundation

I purchased the same product from Smartef.org(online it costs $300) and the material helped my child score higher on both exams(SAT/ACT). They get your info from College Fairs/Career days and if your child took the PSAT. The scam company is in California and the legit company is out of Chicago.

It is a legit service that helps Juniors try to study for the College entrance exams. Definitely seems sketchy at first, but do a little research about the company( www.smartef.org) and it can only help your child get into a school he/she chooses. I bought it and used it for both of my kids. The company/number you want to watch out for(733-698-6064) is really close to the Smart Education Foundation number(773-698-6064). My guess is it's a competitor of theirs who is trying to slam their credibility and it's working somewhat.......be smart people and do a little fact finding before pointing fingers.

They hung up on my machine, too. I'm on the Do Not Call list, and I have no children...I highly doubt they're calling for a legit reason.

A company identifying itself as Smart Education Foundation called my home in Pennsylvania at around 6:20 pm EST offering an interactive program to help improve my daughter's ACT scores.  They claimed to be non-profit, which immediately raised a red flag for me.  Also, the responses to my questions indicated that the person calling exhibited faulty knowledge of how to improve ACT scores.  Being a teacher, this raised another red flag for me.  As I was talking, I looked up this organization on the internet and found that my suspicions of fraud were supported by hundreds of other whose testimonies against them were overwhelming.  I told the caller not to call my number again and hung up.

We purchased this package and my son has used it for 3 weeks the recommended 3 times a week.  He took the ACT last Sat. and felt it helped him.  If he feels it helped him, it was well worth it!  He doesn't score well on standardized tests and a couple of points higher can make a huge difference in scholarship money for college!  We will see when we get the actual score back.  I for one am pleased with the product so far.  The correct number is 773-698-6064.

I received several calls from this number but didn't answer.  When I finally did answer, they asked for my son's mother or father.  When I asked who was calling, the woman gave her name and said she was from Smart Education.  When I asked her to take our name off her calling list, she just hung up without saying anything.

This group is a scam.  You do not need to spend $300.00 on materials.  I suspect that you are a sock puppet for this company.
How can you trust them when the caller ID says: CHICGOZN04 IL?  They did not get my number from a college fair or any other source.  The number they called is my business line, a number my child doesn't have memorized.

bought into the scam:-( returned the product  no refund .  son never asked for the product.  now contacting my bank to  get my money back!!!

'Robert Cooper' from the "non-profit" "Smart Education Foundation" wanted to sell me an SAT preparation package. Knew my daughter's name - said she'd "expressed interest" in test preparation materials. "Guaranteed 300 point improvement" - figured it was a scam before he said that, but knew it for sure then. She gets so much direct mail at this point I guess it is no surprise that we are getting telemarketing calls - even though we are on the DNC list. Ain't modern life grand.

They knew my first name and asked for my parents.

Soo annoying I had to say hello? about 10 times before the guy started to talk, the guy who called my knew my name, asked for my parents and then said he only wanted to help me get into college. I asked him if I could take a message, he said something then I said I didn't think my parents would be interested since I had already taken the ACT and am perfectly fine with my score. Then the man said oh ok and hung up

I ordered the material $199.00  after talking to a representative from smart education foundation on the phone.  It was shipped from California.  My son was not able to load the software on his laptop, so I called the number above to get a refund.  They said to send it back to the address on the box.   I have not received a refund as of yet.  I called the customer service number and they haven't returned my calls.   I am thinking about filing a dispute with the credit card company to try and recoop my $199.00.

Maybe $199 is worth the price if you have years to study and go through the materials to prepare for the exams.  We got the materials in March and the test was in April.....not really enough time to make any use of the software.
