It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

I want to report this number 800-253-2921. A recording of a man with a strong Southern or Texas accent calls and advises that they can help me paying bills, leaves a reference number. When I call back, there is never a person to talk to. I leave messages asking what kind of help they are talking about. I never get an answer. They have called me already 20 times. They harass me by keeping calling and giving false promises. Stop bothering me!

I am a Virginia resident and have recently gone to a Bon Secours OB/GYN hospital...im uninsured so each visit is $100...of course at my first visit I found out I was pregnant so I obviously knew I would be there more frequently so they put me on the list to get assistance in paying. The receptionist informed me they wouldn't call me until I had a balance on my account so at my second prenatal visit she didn't have me pay and sure enough they finally called me about 2 weeks later! I'm so far not having any issues. My boyfriends uncle is in the program as well -- his mother is taking care of him and he doesn't have any insurance so when she got him in the program and they started paying for literally all of their bills shes highly recommended I try to get in the program as well knowing neither I nor her son have insurance at the moment since we both work very low paying jobs in the food industry and haven't really had any reason to get any as neither of us had reason to goto the doctors in years...until now of course lol! If I myself discover anything weird otherwise I'll be sure to update this. I hate getting unknown numbers calling me :)

I have received these phone calls numerous times as "MEDISIS"or similar titles .It is getting to the point where it gets annoying !!!. Other times with different call numbers and as "MEDASSIST" Where they obtain my phone number after I visit the Hospital needs to be checked into so they can be sued and removed once and for all!!!The message left is always with a strong Indian accent. They are not answered by me so they are wasting their time!

These idiots keep calling my number several times a week even though I hang up on them after a couple of rings. They do not even know how to spell on their caller ID. (MEDISIS)???? The messages I have received when not at home are recorded with the area Hospital's name and my name mentioned. What CROOKS !!!!! Will contact the Hospital for information leaks and hope they will take care of them when I give them that annoying phone number.

This company has been calling me for over a month.  I just ignored the calls as I don't answer any phone number that isn't in my contact list or that I don't recognize.    The call as least once a day and leave a message.  The prior month the caller ID was other numbers (434-829-5844, 5845, 5793, 5794, 3334).  I called the number back the other day to find out what the heck they want. They stated the hospital gave them my name as not having health insurance.  I told the lady I have health insurance and to remove me from the call list.

Called me as well. This has nothing to do with insurance, they are a debt collector. I see that was reported here as well.

Same!!! Wont stop. It stated that they were calling on behalf of one of the local hospitals here. When I asked the hospital if they had a program called Med Assist they said no and that they don't contract out in order for people to get financial assistance. They do it in-house through a charity care program. I don't care how legit someone says they are. Any legit company wouldn't use automated stuff to bug the crap out of you.

They are sending me text messages about a bill for radiology that I have no idea about. I have not returned the call. They did leave a website link I can go to to pay the bill, I have not clicked on any links. They claim to be
