Searching the missed call on my company cellphone, no clue why they would call. Now that everyone has chimed in it's Dell, I'll assume it was a wrong number.

Yup it's a DELL Computers number calling. Usually for service call backs so they might (knowing how much DELL screws up) get numbers wrong....

God knows they don't honour their service programs well.

I work at a commercial auto insurance company in the claims deparment and I received a call from this number.  When I pick it up there is no one there.  The call back leads to that annoying squealing tone and the lollipop song someone else mention.  Then a dell customer service menu.  But that initial bit is VERY odd.  And why would Dell's customer service department be calling random numbers.  And if it wasn't random, the person who had my phone number in the past hasn't been here for over three years and I haven't had any reason to talk to Dell in over 5 years.  I actually wonder if someone has managed to 'hack' into the customer service phone line to try to steal information and they have some sort of random call program in order to make people think they represent Dell and get credit card info.

So its 5pm on a sunday.  Could barely understand the guy cause he talked so low wasnt sure who it was.  Yeah I was sleeping from the night shift i had worked.  Who the hell calls on a sunday

Dell did call me but I never order any of computer however people start mistake giving out the old phone number than new number so I told them that I taken this number but they didn't belive me so use my own account from dell from few year ago so I fix myself to show them they were wrong and they stop called and other person who own the from dell already lost or returned to dell or who know might happen with it.......... People who screw up the orders it there own faults

It was a sales call for me.  They wanted me to add a service plan to the TV I purchased earlier in the day.

Just received a call from this number- the gentleman said he was calling regarding an "issue" with an online purchase I just made (I did, in fact, make an on-line purchase from Dell today), and I asked (stupidly) if he was from Dell.  He said that was right, he was.  I asked if I could change the order quantity on one item.  He said no problem, he just wanted my credit card information to process the change.  I asked for call-back number (so I could check out how legitimate it was), because I wasn't giving out a credit card number to an unsolicited call, and he told me he didn't have one and hung up on me.  I don't know what to think, except I'm assuming he is a scammer and not really from Dell.

I was working with Dell and they were repairing my computer online.  I received a call from this number but didn't get to answer it.  It was them trying to re-connect after we were cut off.  They did incredible work on repairing my computer and rebuilding a mirrored hard drive with no loss of data.

Had some work completed by the little India guy on Saturday and now they call EVERY DAY without leaving a voicemail.  Computer still not fixed and did not call back on the date and time I was told so I could get the computer fixed.  Will never buy from Dell again.

An Indian guy (or at least someone with an accent) called me from this number 4 hours after I purchased something from Dell, asking for my credit card number. He said that they don't keep anything but the expiration date and last 4 digits so that it doesn't get out to third parties, and they needed to get my credit card number to complete the transaction. I told him I didn't feel comfortable giving out that information on the phone so he read off the confirmation number, customer number, etc. from the email Dell had sent me confirming my order. I didn't give him my credit card number but told him to call back in 10 minutes so I could figure out if it was legit in the meantime. He hasn't called back yet and it's been an hour and a half. After reading these comments though it sounds like I'm in for a call every day now... can't wait.

how do i get ahold of dell the no does not let call backs

I have a service contract with Dell that expires in August. Had a call from this number by a person named Prasad this morning who offered me a special deal on the renewal of my contract. I have no idea if he really was from Dell but he knew all the details about my computer. Since he called from a 1800 number I told him I could not accept the call. I was dumb enough to give him my email address which actually he should have had on record if he was calling from Dell and had all the details. He send me an email with the specifics of the offer, so I could look it over. I asked him send a bill so I could pay for it through my bank. He said that was not possible and that the deal would have to be completed by phone, which would involve giving him a credit card number.

I just received a call from this number.  It was Dell Software Support confirming the service they provided for me yesterday worked and requested to close my service ticket.  The call was valid and a welcome part of service support.

Who ever is doing this [***] needs to stop.  They called my work yesterday and asked specifically for me (it was my day off). Gave me the number of 866-335-4568 to call back. When I call that number it says that this a no longer a Dell working number to call 800-289-3355. I call that number talk to a guy named Steve tells me he can't find anything, says it must have been a mistake and it wouldn't happen again. well SEE!!!

Had about 10 calls today. Finally took the phone of the hook.

Just got a call from Dell, missed it. My life is over.

These idiot  Dell just called me @ 11:45 pm! What kind of busines calls a customer that late? Loosers!

It is Dell. I had ordered backup CD's after purchasing a computer and they called to make sure I had received them (which, in fact, I had). Not really necessary but a nice touch from customer service.
