In reply to John: Duh, smart guy.  When you open an account with Verizon Wireless you give a contact number to them. You must have gave them your...wait...lets see, maybe it was your land line number. Wow aren't you relieved we figured that one out.

I get a call from this number 800 310-5479 about every three days.  I called the number and get a verizion recording.  But, never a person.  Been on hold for 5 minutes waitting to tell some one to stop calling.

They call and no one answers.  I called back and it is Verizon Wireless.  I talked with them yesterday and told them I did not want anything from them, but the phone still rings.

I might be repeating but here it goes.

I have my phone with cox. I dial *60 and gor thru a menu of adding # to be blocked. Now when I get a 800 service I dial #60 then #01#. This adds the last call. Check your provider. Also I think the do not call reg does not include politicians or charities.

If your provider does not have the block option I think there are boxes on the web that you can add to your phone to block #

Yep, it's Verizon.  I called and asked them to stop calling me and they said sure and were about to hang up.  I then asked them if they wanted to know what number they shouldn't be calling.  They pretended to take the number but I'm pretty sure I'll get another call tomorrow.  Again.  Just like yesterday.  And this morning.  And 5 minutes ago.  

Up until I started receiving all these harassing phone calls, I was very positive about Verizon's service.  Now I'm not so sure.

Tired of the calls. I am dropping Verizon and switching to another company today.

I get calls from this number all the time!!!  I woke up early this morning to a call that I thought was my friend calling to say she was having her baby and it was 18003105479!  ARGH!  that was the last straw.   i broke down and called them back (I've just been ignoring it for the last couple days) and told them to take me off their list.  The woman on the line knew my name and said she would "take care of it."

I'll write again if it works or not.  Fingers crossed!

I got called AGAIN this morning even after being told I'd be taken off the the list.  I answered and told the woman that I'd already requested to not be called again and she said 'she'd make a note of it.'  unbeleivable.

Call came in at 7:44p.m. This is a business line.  Who did they think they would get at 7:45p.m. the day after Christmas?
I didn't answer.

This is Verizon calling every and sometimes twice a day and they do not answer when I answer.  As a result: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH VERIZON WIRELESS. I have called them back and told them to take my name off of their list and now when they call, they do not answer.  I do not have a contract with Verizon Wireless and will not sign with them for this reason.

They've called me everyday for many weeks now asking for someone else. I don't even have a cellphone. Most of the time, they don't speak, and when I call back, nothing happens; there's just clicking.
Today, I finally answered and a person spoke asking for someone who wasn't here at this address. I told them there's no such person here, and they've called before asking for this person.
Like I said, I don't even have a cellphone, so I don't know why they're calling me for this person. Wouldn't they have his/her cellphone# if he's/she's their customer? They had his name and address! Seems kind of fishy to me!

my contract w/ verizon's gonna end this june2008.recently i've received calls from this 18003105479 number on 12/20,21,24,26,27 successively & am expecting more calls to get in days and days to come -Unfortunately For Them I don't Usually Pick-Up And ANSWER 1800 numbers as long as i'm sure whose company it was and was able to use this site to know whom they were--I'M GONNA SWITCH BACK TO T-MOBILE AND NEVER GONNA RETURN TO VERIZON-

Go to the Do NOT Call Registry and file a complaint!  This is the only way to get them to stop.  In the process the FTC will investigate and if enough people complain, they will get in trouble with the law!!

Call rang and then hung up when I answered

I have numerous "missed calls" from 800-310-5479. They are missed because I generally do not answer my phone.

I too get these calls every day about 3-4 times a day. I am so sick of it! I just got off the phone with Verizon Wireless and they gave me a different Verizon Wireless phone number to call. They said to call the CMO department at 1-800-735-7744. They are closed right now so I will have to call in the morning. I was told by Verizon Wireless customer service that this is the way to get off of their list. So , I will call tomorrow. I hope the rest of you will call too and get off the list. Good luck!
