Called had a heavy Indian accent, sounded like he was in a call center, claimed to be with Comcast, and told me that I would be receiving a $100 pre-paid Visa card for being "such a loyal customer" (I only have had their internet service for 3 months). He said that all I would need to do to get the gift card would be to pay $6 for "shipping and handling" of the card. What the heck, right? The super creepy part is that he quoted back to me the email address I used setting up my Comcast account. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark...

I don't have a dish and I don't have cable. I have an antenna. For that goes for TV these days I really don't need anything more than that. I certainly didn't call them so I don't know why they'd be calling me. Obviously it's a scam of some sort.

This number calls me daily with Dish sign up same as fliers in the mail.  It is not a scam it is for real Dish people looking to sign you up for service.  Not really friendly at all.  Speak to them and ask which channel is next to be turned off...lol, it makes them hang up every time.

Got my call from them this afternoon. Saw Dish in the caller id so did not answer. Of course no message, proving what it was.

    1) Get a VOIP phone service that allows you to block an infinite number of numbers. I never get a second from any phone spammer. Probably 4 or 5 a month total. I've been on the do not call list for years and it is just another worthless service of the US government.. They (telemarketers) ignore the list and LOL at threats to file complaints.

    2) Never deal with Dish Network. Its parent company's primary business is *collections*. And they sic them on former Dish customers. If you feel compelled to use Dish and then cancel, do ALL contacting via printed letter and send UPS or certified mail. If you don't have a paper trail you stand a chance of getting reamed out.

CRIMINALS. It took several hours to get our internet and our phone service (hooked up through Net talk) back. Contact authorities if this happens to you. The Slimey C-U-N-T who answered the phone (1-800-333-3474) refused to answer any questions and tried to get our credit card number. These people belong in prison.

I just got a call from the 1800-333-3474 number from a guy who said that he was calling from DISH, He asked if I had Dish..(sounding very unsure of himself) You would think that he would know since he was calling from Dish.....he said that he needed me to give him my  satellite  number because Dish was doing a upgrade and wanted to know if my satellite was compatible with the upgrade and if it wasn't they would send out . I told him that I was not able to give out my info... He asked if he  could call back...

I called dish and they said that they would never make those kind of calls since they have all of my info in their computer system...

I looked up this number and see that it is a SCAM.. People don't give them any info....

Kept them on the phone as long as I could. Made up several fake credit card numbers that they said wouldn't go through. I told them I thought I stole the numbers fair and square and they should work. LOL

    Mad in ABQ NM
I answered at least 4 calls today at my home phone (land line) in Albuquerque, NM from people trying to contact "DISH" at 800-333-3474. My home phone number is not similar in any way to this 800 number, and I have no idea how their calls get routed to my personal home phone number! My research of this number lead me to this site and it indicates another scam.

For anyone who reads this, please understand that I am not at all affiliated with DISH, nor do I even subscribe to DISH. My biggest  frustration is that this is the 2nd time this has happened to us. A few years ago calls being returned to a different 800 telemarketing number were being routed to my home phone. Since the unscrupulous telemarketers were calling people numerous times, even late into the night, we got our share of angry people leaving nasty voicemails or trying to chew us out. I had to explain that we were "vicitms" (for lack of a better word), too. I called our phone company to report it back then, and It took weeks for the calls to finally quit.

I have been getting calls from this number for sometime. I just don't answer the phone period.

Last week I was working at home and received a call from Dish Network. I had time so I answered the call. The person answered the call my saying welcome to Dish Network or something like that. I ask her what I could do for her and she started the selling pitch. I broke in and said, I sorry lady you must have call me by mistake. I been a customer of your for a few years now. So if you would please take my number off the list to try to get new customers.

If I have a problem with my Dish I will be sure to call you. Thanks for calling. Have never heard from them again and I have never had a Dish and unless it come to be having a Dish is the only way to watch movies and TV....I will have a problem.

Got a call from this number today, asked if I had dish, I said I have "A" dish, he (in a very thick Indian accent) said something along the lines of the satellite my dish was pointing to was not going to be available 15 days from now and that I would loose my programming. He wanted me to press menu twice on my remote. I stopped him and said that I didn't have "dish" network, I had direct tv. He said that it's fine since both run off the same satellite and that he could walk me through that one as well. He then continued to ask me about how many receivers and tv's I had and then asked me for my name to verify my account. At this point I hung up on him.

Right after I called Direct TV and told the story to them. They said that it definitely wasn't them and there was no issues with any satellites of theirs. Gave them the number.

The infamous "Microsoft Scammers" from India have apparently been spoofing the Dish 800 number.
Apparently these imbeciles were being tripped up by the CID reading all zeros or showing an invalid number,
so they got ahold of a legit number to spoof. The caller invariably speaks with a thick Indian accent and will
probably want you to link your system to his via TeamViewer or a similar site. They're not too bright and will
eventually cuss you out if you mess with their heads long enough!
