I happen to believe all those "claiming" that this is real is one person using multiple names. That is a scammer for you. I have seen countless threads and there are identical postings in almost all of them from those that claim this is actually real.

OK- I was convinced it wasn't citi, but I called the number on the back of my card, and it was them.

They did say that if ever you have a question just hang up and call the number on the back of the card.
    That worked great.

So it might, in fact be Citi, however I'd just call the number on the back of your card to be sure.

I just updated my online account info and the call was Citibank confirming the changes.  That's all the message said.  They didn't ask me for any information or a return call.

I got a SMS message to call this number.  It turns out, it is a legit fraud # for CitiBank Credit Cards.  I recently used my card to 3-4 things from various websites and this must had flagged the account for fraud.  Upon calling in to the completely automated system, I was prompted to enter the PIN given in the SMS.  It then asked me for my zip code and to confirm by pressing 1 if i a) knew where my card was and b) was [name here].  The system then rattled off the last three transactions listing both the amount and location asking each time to confirm the purchase.  It did not ask me for any other personal information.

This is a legit number, they left a message confirming I had registered with their website (which I had) and just wanted to alert me and asked to call the number on the back of the card if I had questions.

This is a legitimate citibank number.  I recently had new activity with them, and got a call from this number; read the messages here and was suspicious, so I called the number on the back of my card.  It is not a faudulent number, it is a citibank member services number.

Same here, it was just Citibank confirming on-line changes I made yesterday.  Contrary to the experience had by others, my message was not part of a phishing scam-it was a legit notification.

Legit. It was an automated call from Citibank asking me to confirm online account changes. It didn't ask for any information-- just told me to call the number on the back of the card if I hadn't updated my account.

Yes, it was from Citibank.  I actually called the number on the back of my card, and inquired about the other number, it is legit.  It was about a payment I made about 15 minutes, before the automated call, for AT&T thru their voice mail.  Apparently, the At&T system may not have provided all the information to Citibank.  This triggered the Citibank automatic alert system.

I definitely thought this was a phishing scam as well.  I had received a text earlier today and then a phone call from this number that left a message.  There was no indication on my online citi account that there was any fraud suspicions, but I decided to call the number on the back of my card just in case.  If nothing else I wanted to report the number.  However, it turned out the text and call were real, and a charge I had made today appeared suspicious, and I was able to resolve it.

I wasn't sure whether it was a scam or not, but I recommend just calling the official number on your card and check if you aren't sure!

This is a legit call from CitiCards.  Just signed up for online services and this automated call was to confirm that.  The recorded message did not ask for any information.

Yes, it is legit.  But I did call the number on the back of my card anyway, not sure why the text had a pin to enter, that is sketchy.  When I called the number on my card, they ask to enter the account number and when I did, it said suspicious activity and transfered me to a service rep.  They told me what the charge was and asked for verification.  Luckily it was my charge!  I love Citibank though, their fraud service is really helpful to be looking out for us, stupid Bank of America let a $1200 charge from the UK go through on my card with them once, I had to call them about it.  They should have known I made charges in the US the same day!  Canceled with BOA needless to say!
