- Bertoman3456I have been getting calls from 800-424-5004 for a couple of days at least 2 or 3 times a day and each time I was in class so I didn't answer. I called back to see what was going on and I received an automated voice message asking me to put in my 16 digit account number. I hung up and decided to call back later. I called back and listened through the message and the offer to press "2" to hear the message in spanish, after a couple of seconds of no response the automated system politely told me I would be connected to an "advisor". A young woman picked up, thanked me for calling Chase Bank and asked for my account number. I told her I didn't have one and she asked why I had called to which I replied with the same question. I told her they had called me first and she asked me if I knew "jumbled name" and I said I did not know them but wished I did for such a creative name. She told me I would be removed from the list and I thanked her. Easier than I thought it would be...Best of luck!

- ImemineI get this one at work and at home. Some times at work, they will call over and over for 10 minutes or so (like every 30 seconds-Totally harrassment). Sometimes I will tell them I am not allowed to have personnel calls at work, but then they call back on a different 800 number. (or ignore the request). I got rid of the home phone it got so bad, and subscribed to magicjack. Had it for 2 months now with no calls. PEACE AND QUIET! (except at work). Before that i tried just changing my number. That lasted about two weeks before some calls started in on the new number.

- CharlesI have never done business with Chase, but they have my number. They call more than 10 times a day, on my cell when I'm at work. I did answer once and told the lady to stop calling me, but they still keep calling me. She was very rude to me on top of that. Chase stop calling my cell number.

- willy replies to WONDERINGdo not forget - chase owns a few other banks now - wash mutual for one - if you have EVER had any debt with these newly acquired banks - chase is now trying to get that cash. this is always in an effort to collect - and in order to collect - they call. it is legal.
- plergthese guys are from Chase and now also Washington Mutual (which is now Chase). they found out my work phone as well somehow and have been harassing me there as well. my friend at a collections place told me to answer the call on my work phone, identify myself and then hang up. they are not allowed to call back the rest of the day, if they do they are in violation of FDCPA laws.

Companies honestly think this will work, Or are we to smart for the foreigners and they really don't want to talk to us smart [***] Americans, but in order to get paid they have to show the the number was called. - SteveFolks, my wife bought one of those pay-as-you go phone for me about 3 days ago, since I didn't have a cell phone. She registered it for me on the internet, and I kid you not, not 24 hours after she did, I was receiving calls from these nut-huggers up to 10 times a day!
I don't even have a Chase card, nor have done business with any bank that's owned by Chase. They won't leave a message and they won't say nothing when you pick up. If they call me again, I'll report the mother f*****s to the FCC! - icemani pick up and there was no other person on the other side

- FEDUPANDNOTGONNATAKEITI too have recieved phone calls from this number starting at around 8 AM. I have read up on the law and it clearly states that it is illegal to make a person's phone ring excessively in an attempt to collect a debt. Basically what they are doing counts as harassment and I hope someone calls them out on this. I used to recieve calls but whenever I do I put that new number in my phone's auto reject so that it will automatically reject the call. I use my cel phone as my primary number so I guess it is a good thing that my phone has this feature.

- KevinAn employee at our company has a legitimate debt with WaMu (now Chase) but is continuing to get calls here at work despite him (and others) asking then telling them to stop. After the third call I took yesterday, on the fourth I adopted a new tactic. In my best "elderly non-English speaker" voice, I quavered "hellooooo?" To each question, I quavered "noooo" except for his question about whether anyone spoke English - to that I quavered "yessssss." He asked for the guy's wife, so obviously no one had been paying attention when told repeatedly that it was not a residence. After several minutes of this, he (politely, I have to admit) ended the call. No further calls the rest of the day!
Does anyone know how to report this? I want to make good on our threats to do so, but I'm having no luck navigating the various government websites.- Caller: WaMu (now Chase)
- Call type: Debt collector
