    wtf!
I got a call from this number which the reception was really really bad. A girl told me that she wanted to talk to a certain godoller and I said I am not this guy. She says well I am from bell and I'd like to know when you will be able to pay your 2000 or 200$ that you owe since a long time supposetely.

Have been getting numerous calls from this #. My bill is not outstanding and if it was bell will leave a msg for you to call. I have now used my call screening available from bell on my phone line. If you want to use this feature use the command to block the last # (mk sure it is the right #). Call screen will not let me enter the # but will accept it using block last call.
This is a scam! I also just had a call saying they were from bell a few days ago wanting to give me a free cell phone BUT wanted all my information. Ah dont think so! Bell has any information they needed. Reported this to the police who said it was a scam. I blocked that # also.

    [***] Meter off the Scale!
This number has been calling me everyday, all week and weekend from 8am to 11:30 pm.  I know all of my Bell accounts are up to date and have actually called Bell twice to verify.  Today I called this number back and spoke with a lady that had an Indian accent.  I could hear numerous voices in the background like a call centre.

She started asking me the usual questions that Bell does for verification such as my one bill account number (which I don't know and said as much) my phone number, address.  These are all normal questions from Bell.  Then she wanted to know the last three digits of my social insurance number, where I worked and my work phone number. When I asked her why she needed that information she said it was to verify the account.  I told her the call was over and hung up.

Bell never, ever has asked my for any of that information, they don't have my social insurance number on file and have no reason to obtain it.  Do not answer this call or return the call.  Notify Bell at 310-BELL and call your local police to report it.

They called my office this morning (Government number). The message they left on the vm was *click*. I have no services with Bell.

I find it very surprising that after I spent almost an entire afternoon trying to get my billing issues and trying to cancel my account with Bell, that I would receive a call from that number the next day! I never answer if I don't know the number, no message was left either. Here is one way to mess up their automated dialer: answer the  call and press the number sign or star as many times as the call last. This should do it. It works all the people I know. Someone within Bell in trying to fraud as many customers they can. Good luck to all!

This number is indeed Bell. I had an outstanding balance on my Bell TV account, and received a call from this number. It's the same contact number that appears on my Bell TV statement.... a pretty good indicator that the number is legitimate.

My wife got a call from these idiots three days ago. I do owe an amount of my Bell bill (justification for the call I guess), but the experience my wife had with this company was the worst experience we've ever had with a company.

The agent's rudeness was one thing, but the agent asked for my wife's debit card, SIN, date of birth, driver's license, place of business and my personal information as well. What kind of a company needs this much personal information? I was happy with the Bell service up until now. There are ways to deal with delinquent accounts, but to ask for too much information and be rude about is another matter.

I'm currently filing a complaint with Bell customer services (on hold right now, but knowing Bell it probably wont amount to anything positive) and I'm strongly considering moving my service to Rogers and taking my family / friends with me.

If anyone gets a call like this, REFUSE to give any personal information, just note how much you owe and their stated time lines. I'm worried that there may be criminal activity at Bell and that some bad apples, who have too much access to my information, may possibly be using their resources to their advantage. After all, there's always turnover at Bell, who knows why some of these people get fired.

if you'll notice the link also states that business hours are 8am - 5pm,  Monday - Friday, If this is the case then (while I'm sure I'm not the only one) why do they still call right up until 8pm+?

Just block the number. If not, when you pick up the phone, just talk to them in gibberish...pretend you don't speak english. :)

Or next time they call, advise them right off the bat that the call is being recorded and start asking for their personal information. ;)

This number is from Bell satellite billing department.  They call me 7-8 times a day for my overdue bill of $95.  My last bill payment was 2 weeks, I told them that I'm not making any payments for my TV service more than once a month and they still harass me daily

Got calls many times since last few day from 1800-477-9205. Each time I picked up, say hello, but the other side just waited silently for a few seconds, each time he/she hang off without saying anything.
I must say if this is official Bell phone number, it must be abused by a crazing fobiac....!!!!

800-477-9205 is indeed a legitimate Bell number but when it's really them calling (a) the caller ID says Bell Canada and (b) they will leave a message telling you who they are and how/when to call them back. The calls *apparently* from 800-477-9205 that just say Long Distance, where the caller hangs up on answering machines, have most likely spoofed the real number (just like they spoof 000-000-0000 and others) but are not legitimate Bell calls at all.

I doubt very much if the person your wife spoke to was with Bell. Bell agents would have no reason to ask for a SIN, debit card information, or anything else that was asked for. Bell can be annoying at times, but in this case, I think they're getting a bad rap for something that is being perpetrated by someone completely outside the company. Telemarketers and scammers have no problems spoofing phone numbers to mask their real location.
