- annanymit's someone calling from jail, i'm guessing all of these were received on cell phones, and it's like other's said, cell phones often don't accept collect calls so you have to pay in advance. it's not a scam you dumb [***], maybe they just called the wrong number, because in this day how many of you actually remember people's phone numbers? not a lot, because we have cell phones to do it for us.
- annanym replies to River| 1 replyjust call the jail and tell them you want the person who keeps calling to be executed, they'll stop after that.
- perpetua| 1 replyCalled my cell two days in a row, same time. This time left voice mail (sounded like a hispanic frmale). Said inimate from a correctional facility is trying to call you collect. To set up an account call, blah, blah, blah.
I don't know anyone in jail, or prison, and I think it's a scam to get your CC info by someone "spoofing". - Annoyed replies to mary| 4 repliesI dont know anyone in jail!!!! They must be REAL stupid to not know who theyre calling!
- Annoyed replies to anita| 2 repliesThen theyre an idiot and belong in jail if they dont know how to get the right number! And I will NEVER feel bad for someone in jail. If theyre in jail they did something to belong there and deserve what they got!
- bipp| 2 repliesI don't know any scum inmates nor do i care to. stop the fuckiing horse [***] scams. rot in jail.
- Caller: collier county jail
- jRRRRRR replies to Annoyed| 2 repliesI totally agree. I don't know anybody in jail either yet they called here today. Whoever keeps saying this is just some person in jail is probably in on the scam!
- LouiseThe message says: "Press 1. Go to our automated credit card payment system, 2 to End this call. Please hang up now." I have no idea what or where this is, and I'm pretty sure its a scam of some type.
- Anonymouse replies to miserable$25 per call is not a scam? I've called cell phones on the other side of the world via international long distance for less.
- Anonymouse replies to lol,,IT'S A SCAMThat is why legitimate calls tell you who the inmate is, the name of the prison, and that this is a collect call with how much it will cost.
- marilyn willisHave gotten a few calls from this number, but have not answered it. How do I stop this person from calling me?
- Caller: no name is what caller ID says
- Mary replies to DR.D| 1 replyThis is not a scam. My sister n law is currently in jail and the only way to accept a collect call from our local jail to our cell phone is to set up a prepay account with Global Tel Link. We can also put money in her commisary account and she can buy a prepaid calling card through Global Tel Link. This company and several others were started because most people no longer have land lines phone and your cellular company only allows a certain amount of collect calls before they have you establish an account. For instance, I have tmobile I was allowed to accept 2 and be billed on my cell phone for them after that I had to establish an account.
- hello| 1 replyIt is a scam, I know this because i've received collect calls from a jail before and it always states "you have a collect call from....(Then the person calling you needs to state their name in their own voice) and then ask you to accept (set up an account) or lets you know your balance. Many prisons/jails will tell you to NEVER accept or set up an account without that voicing of whom it's from.
- Kelly replies to Khrystine| 3 repliesJust a random prison inmate calling doesn't sound like a scam? Wow
