- GeorgetteThis is someone trying to call you from jail. This number calls me all the time and its always my ex.
- Caller: GlobalTel
- KayA man I am friends with but no longer date called me from jail like this. You should hear the callers name in their OWN voice. I accepted but you do have to set up an account with a minimum of $25. The money went pretty quick, about five calls. I have had no problems but refuse to put another 25 on the account so he can call. I wrote him a letter, told him I am not spending that kind of money, enclosed 5 sheets of blank paper with stamped envelope addressed to his parents and one to his kids. He can write them and stop bothering me. Phone calls in prison are a privilege doesn't deserve.

- cg replies to mary| 2 repliesIt is a scam! I don't even live in the USA! Heard about this scam. They have defrauded the elderly huge amounts. Do not answer!
- Cindy S.My son keeps getting calls from this number. He is 14 and does not know anyone in prison. Is there any way to stop these calls?
- Caller: Not sure
- MindyTheir website is Offenderconnect.com. its not a scam. I have a friend in prison who calls my cell. For him to call I need to prepay. If I don't have money on the account this number shows up on my caller ID instead of his usual number and directs me to add funds. If you know who is calling and where they are located you can call the prison/jail and have your number removed.
- Caller: OffenderConnect
- KerwinThis is a scam. We know one in then Davidson Co Tennessee Correctional Facility.
Inmates 1st of all have to BUY phone cards and call you to ask your permission. Then they will give you a phone number and access code. to set up the account.- Caller: Correctional Facility
- kellygot a call from this number asking me to set up an account to receive calls from a correctional facility. scam
- Wally replies to DR. D| 12 repliesIt is NOT a scam. This us the system my wife and I used while I was in jail. Someone from jail is trying to get a hold of you and doesn't have a phone cars do you have to set up a pre-paid account. Global Tel-Link I'd not a scam.

It is a prepaid phone service for inmates to use to call loved ones, lawyers, etc. Otherwise each call would be collect at a cost of $15.00! Just call your local jail and ask what you can do to set up a phone account for an inmate... most likely they will give you this number. - Neal Kaye replies to Wally| 4 repliesRight. Just some convict calling and asking you to set up an account. Not a scam. You must be a real idiot.
- Cindy replies to anita| 2 repliesIt is the Global tele phone line for prisoners to call family members the family member puts money on the phone number it is calling so the inmate my talk with them. If you don not have a family member incarcerated don't answer it. With any number calling me if I don't know it I don't answer (esp. an 800 number) if it's important they will leave a message.
- Cindy replies to KhrystineIt could be Global tele company themselves calling not just an inmate for reason not sure it calls me when the money has run out if you don't have any one incarcerated I don't know why it would call you.
- Cindy replies to won't say| 1 replyYou can add amounts in 25 dollar increments. Depending if it is considered long distance or a local call depends on how much it cost per15 minute call, you only get to talk 15 minutes at a time. My number is local same area code and prefix so it cost about 3 dollars for a 15 minute call, that is taken off the 25 dollars I put on plus global tel link charges 5 dollars off the top so you start with 20 dollars talk 15 minutes then you are left with 12 dollars or so after the first call. You can add 25 dollars or more when he calls, once the money is on there it will ask you if you want to know how much the call will cost so you know exactly what your being charged for each call and if you want to except the call. Once the money is gone you will have to add more if you want to I put 25 dollars a month on my account my son calls only on Sundays, I think week day calls cost more per 15 minutes. Hope this helps!
- Cindy replies to MaryYou can use your home hone also if you have one!
- Cindy replies to DR.D| 2 repliesYou are wrong Dr. this is not a scam it tells you the name of the person calling, it is their voice saying their name. If you don't know the person then of course don't add money to the account it is your account and the money is not added to the inmates books so they have no access to the money you are paying Global Tele Link a fee to be able to talk to your friend or family member that is incarcerated. The inmate gives the prison a number to have approved for him/her to be able to call. The inmate might have given the wrong number to the prison to be set up. I know I have been doing this for 7 years. It isn't a random pay phone your putting money on it is your phone line, your phone number is the account.
- Cindy replies to Miss Cathy| 3 repliesMiss Cathy you are being ignorant look it up Global Tele Link it is ligament!
Though that do not have family members incarcerated would not know about this, I never did until I had to use it. If you are getting these calls most likely it is because the inmate gave the wrong number. - JW.orgThis is an unwanted call from someone I do not know.
- starwatcherReceived a call from this number it was about a company unknown to me and policy? setting up recurrenting payment.
- Wally replies to Neal Kaye| 2 repliesNo, not an idiot. Just someone who made a mistake and spent some time in jail. The real idiot is whoever gave YOUR number to the convict trying to call you. They money put on the account is used for the phone system only so it's not like they can buy drugs with it or put it on their books or anything like that. Ignore it if you don't know anyone in jail, and perhaps try to grow up a little. No need for name calling, unless you're one of those people who gets off on putting people down on the internet instead of in person because you have your own issues to deal with. Have a great day.
