I dont have any of that. According to my staff he took pictures and talked to the business next door. He left a letter for me. I called the number but didnt hear back. I dont think there is a lawsuit against me.

No, there probably isn't. Just scare tactics. Post the return address on your letter. If you hear anything else from them, post it here. We dissect frauds here for fun. The regulars here are invariably well to do, have no outstanding debt & have absolutely no fear of debt collection agencies or of court rooms. We share a hatred of the fraudulent practices used by unethical and/or bogus debt collection outfits. We also have some of the finest researchers on the planet with us. If an agency is using fraudulent practices, we can expose them all the way down to their skivvies!

NOT A SCAM. LARGEST COLLECTION AGENCY IN THE COUNTRY

Ok - I understand that debts have to be collected and paid, etc etc. There are ways to handle this, though. I've been in some type of collections myself for 15 years and you DON'T have to harass people. I left companies who worked that way, BECAUSE they worked that way.

Now - this company is a harassing entity. They've called our offices everyday. Finally after almost a week they leave a voicemail. They can tell from our automated messages that we are not the company they're looking for.

When I call back to inform them of this and ask for them to quit calling - Angela White at extension 1360 - informs me that she found us on the debtor companies website! I explained that we have a loose affiliation with the company, but it is NOT our company. Not to mention the company they're looking for is in Australia!! It seems they were just being lazy (or didn't want to hike up their long distance bills). She asks me for their phone number, I give it to her - right off their website - and inform her she could have found the phone number the same way she found ours... on their website!!!! I told her this is not a joke, this is harassment and not how you should handle skip tracing. She got angry (poor little button) and started to argue. She seemed to realize quickly this was not the answer and told me to have a good day before she hung up loudly in my ear.

Get yourself some dignity!!! Karma is fun....

Received a message from 800-509-6060 from a Ms. Alicia from Altus, a debt collector.

Just received a call from Altus Investigations Debt Collectors; Paul Gerber and giving me a case number.
Goggled them and tried to call back. No answer.
What a start to my morning!!!!
Scam City.  Don't let this freak you out and DO NOT give anyone any of your personal information.

This guy PAUL GERBER is a BOTTOM FEEDER collection agency, he try's to scare you thinking there is a legal case and investigation, there is no such thing, he is trying to confuse and scare you into calling him back, once you do he begs you to pay your past due invoice.  Just a BOTTOM FEEDING COLLECTOR using a new trick in the book.

Got the same call from Mr Harrison at Global Trade Solutions.. PI reporting  Case number 1584021 from 800-509-6060. Claimed to be FG Investigations LLC. All bogus.

Lady asked for the owner. I told her the owner did not have an office here and to call him at home. Then she said "i bet your the owner!" I laughed at her and she hung up. I'm bulletproof with these creeps.

Caller said someone named Ed Falco was initiating a private investigation. Scam.

I have been having spoof calls from Coface &  Altus for several months. I finally figured it out the other day when PAUL GERBER called (from this number 504-469-9545 caller id said Vancouver ,WA) saying he is a private investigator letting me know he is conducting investigation on me and he would be looking into all my assets and credit he said his investigation would take about a week, for his client Coface/ Altus and I should call 1-800-318-6494 and gave me a case number. both him and his crooney partners Altus & Coface are using mask numbers to call my office I got a call yesterday from my own phone number saying this was credit card services & it was a recording, so again I just hang up.
I hope they read this because I am reporting  Paul Gerber -Coface-Altus to caller id and spoofing | fcc.gov and there illegal ways for trying to collect a debt.  again to report these companies and Paul Gerber go to http://www.fcc.gov/guides/caller-id-and-spoofing 

How did you report the spoofing? I am currently dealing with the same situation with Coface/Altus. Now AT&T has created a phone number on our business account for what Coface/Altus did and billing us for the service. This is fraudulent & when Coface/Altus calls it rings as our company name as well. I want to report this company immediately!!!!!!!

Very demanding woman asking for someone I do not know. She said she would take me off the "list".

Call from Paul Gerber to call 1-800-509-6060 # 1219 talk to Ms. Linda Blair about an Asset Liability Investigation

Received a call from Paul Gerber saying he was a private investigator. Called on phone number 973-200-2736 - Little Falls, NJ. Said he had been hired by Sherry Figuero of Altus Global Trade Solutions to do a report of Assests and Liabilities. Also gave me a case number.  Total scam artist- the company he called about doesn't even exist.

All I can say is " Shut up you idiot" .....and please.... please.... learn how to spell. You can't put a sentence together ....maybe get a different job?

these are not real names........Paul Gerber.... after the baby food and Linda Blair..... after the kid actress from the original exorcist....... the one that threw up Green pea soup..........LMAO  I guess they go together.......

This is another collection agent that is working for ALTUS GLOBAL COLLECTIONS and she is not very good at her job and does things that shouldn't be doing as well......... like disclosing information to third parties, making threats of litigation in order to scare people into paying..... and other things that are ILEGAL  and against the Ontario Collections Act....... The worst thing you can do is to give her the time to listen to her. These are just "callers" and many of them not very bright either and that's why they will do and say almost anything, even if it is illegal......probably due to improper training (intentionally perhaps).
They prey and abuse people that are not aware of their rights as a consumer. My word of advice is to get as much info on the "caller" before we start any conversation or allow them to speak ( i.e.: name, phone, company, collection license number if any etc).......do not let them abuse you or if they break any rules, then place a complaint with the Ministry of Consumer Services. They do not like that, as if they get too many they could loose their Collections License.
