    Here's how to get payback
Don't waste your time posting here...
Contact your local State Attorney's General Office and file a complaint.
Additionally, file a complaint with the FTC.
It takes them 10 times a long to deal with your complaint as it takes them to handle your phone call (they just hang up!)
If we all send just one complaint to each, the regulators will crack down on these scumbags!

Why don't you go back to school and learn how to spell?  You need to get a REAL job!  You bottom feeders are sucking the life out of  honest folks who are unlucky to have a phone number which was once held by a deadbeat.  Get off the gas!

    Micha,

You ABSOLUTELY HAVE NO DAMN CLUE, to the ramifications of majority of these debt collectors actions. Do you KNOW FOR SURE if some of these agencies are SCAMS or not? NO YOU DON'T. Their actions have caused termination, threat, stress of individuals of their job, home and family doing what they do. If this particular agency call me again and not tell me who they are I'm suing them and maybe you too for being "stupid to the facts" of what these collection agencies do. IF THEY CALLED YOU or the COMPUTER "AUTO-DIALED" BY LAW, they have to have an electronic note/data of the number that they or the computer dialed, BEFORE asking people what their number is and name. Some people have "unlisted" or "private" numbers FOR A REASON. These agencies should also focus on using U.S. Mail along with a validated debit claim... but if it's after seven years (Which WHY they asks what number they dialed and who the individual dialed name.) the debt is no longer valid unless communications is/are re-established.
Hey people call them back and do the same to them... when you do, make a DETAILED JOURNAL of the time, date and what was said. Then have it notarized as "legal evidence." Make sure that you contact you phone provider and ask for the list of calls you've made (According to FOIA (Freedom of Information Act), you have this right.) make copies and highlight the phone numbers you called to the agencies. Then contact an "Consumer Attorney/Firm" then go from there.
Maybe the government will start to finally realize that these companies/agencies are doing WAY MORE harm than "doing their job lawfully" to this nation's economy. They DO NOT have the rights to harass consumers/citizens like this.
I have an idea, MICHA... why don't you tell me your phone number and let's see where it goes? Eh?

Just got a call with no answer. I Googled them and found this site. Is there a program we can get to "return" their calls at 3am? If so, I would gladly buy it and "return" their calls DAILY just to show them what it is like to be harrased constantly. I do not owen anyone anything. All my "bills" are non-existant. I only owen my utilities and that is it. I work hard for my money and spend it wisely. I do not go into debt to purchase anything. Times are hard and I don't need these as&holes constantly calling me. My wife gets upset when this type of sh/t happens because we have kids and grandkids. When they call at 3am and we are awakened by this type of stuff, it is scary. Yeah, I would gladly pay good money to anyone that finds a computer program to "return" their calls automatically. Please, if you have one or know of one, let me know and share it with the other people on here. Thanks for reading!

These people keep calling my house asking for an anthony cabreras. There is no one here by that name. This guy obviously used a phony number. I explained that to these people, yet they STILL keep calling everyday at the same time.  Yesterday when they called, I pressed 3(option to talk to someone) and a guy came on and said "this call is being monitored", so i said, "its being monitored at my end too, just to let you know" and he hung up!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been getting calls from this number for at least the last two months three to four times a day at my place of work.

I finally called back today and gave them my number and asked who they were trying to contact. Obviously a previous employee who is long gone.  Once I gave them that information she apologized and said that my number would be removed from their calling list.

Let's see what happens.  I am hopeful.

Anyone who chooses to be a collection agent or parking enforcement is a scab on the ass of humanity. They are trained to be rude and intimidating and anyone who would partake in that is scum. I'd rather work at McDonald's.

These people have been calling me for over 2 years.  Sometimes 2 or 3 times a day, sometimes 2 or 3 times a week, sometimes a week or so will go by without them calling.

I have explained to them at least 15 times that the debt they are trying to collect was part of a divorce settlement, along with a couple other debts,  that were transferred solely to my ex in that settlement.  I have also given them my ex's number (in another state)

But, besides that, it is a debt that is 27 years old!!!!

Now, would you consider that legitimate and just "doing their job"????

This place is not a collection Agency they are a debt consolidation company who gets public information from the court website and send notices stating they are affiliated with the creditor you owe then they will get your banking information and take your money and never pay your creditors they are Crooks and you will never see your money again...... They are not a real company someone hiding behind a phone and I have proof I just called them due to one of my customers to see how much they have to offer and they refused all information on this and never offered me a dime and told him they have been paying his bill this whole time we have not received a dime and now he is out 600.00 from this company

I hope you guys bury these crooks because one of my debtors got a post card stating they were affiliated with his creditor and he gave these people $600.00 and they even told him they have approval my client is not aware of any offer and so when I called them they refused any and all information they had another # they had disconnected its 310-212-0400. They are hiding behind a Po Box maybe we can do a Po Breaker to see where they are really at.

This is great!  I called and upon inquiring who they did collection for, the gentleman state "We do personal information gathering for several businesses!"  To which in replied "How can it be personal information when you work with a business?  Shouldn't it be business information gathering since your work with businesses?  I mean, if it's personal it's about an individual and not a business." The gentleman stated he was not engaging conversation about semantics and asked for the number I was calling about.  I told him on 521-4956 and then when they asked for the area code, I said 800!   "That's our number sir!" He retorted,  Have a nice day!  I haven't laughed so hard in quite a while!  LOL!!  Maybe everyone should call these characters and give them some of their own medicine!

I have received a call from this number too. I just don't understand that if this is a legitimate business why there is no correspondence sent in mail to you only phone calls. After five days if there is no response something is supposed to be sent to you in mail. Why would you just give your information out when nothing is verified or if you ask for the paperwork sent in the mail.

    Actually,

American Agencies is a legitimate company as we have submitted many "dead beat" clients who are the crooked ones.

By law they are not allowed to disclose debts to anyone other than the debtor (privacy act)...so they are asking for your number to confirm that they called the correct number and to confirm that you are in fact the person who owes the money. This does 2 things for them..
    1.  You are confirming that you were contacted, therefore you can't say that you were not aware of the debt.
    2.  They can then..proceed legally to advise what debt you haven't paid and who you owe.

Too many Americans are stuck taking care of the fees that dishonest people leave unpaid...one way or another the honest consumer ends up absorbing their debt.  It costs money to run a business and trust me ....the Corporation is not the one to absorb these unpaid fees...it's the consumers who do.

So..I believe that collections agencies are patriotic and we NEED them!

    Signed,
Tired of Citizens not paying for services and goods received!    PAY YOUR BILLS or don't buy!!!

I'm going to take it you work for this company? I see a word game in your replies. A technicality of some sort. It's cool though. At least I know who it is now. Well, even if they are legit, they aren't professional. My guess is there needs to be some staff training on how to schedule call backs in the system. Possibly, it's that  they are clicking 3 AM instead of PM. Maybe they'd collect more if the phones were rolling as they need to be. Also, people think that they are hanging up because the delay in the system is too long. Whatever it is, there seems to be alot of negative feedback from these calls.
