- BigA replies to QuinciIf it was a legitimate debt collector, they will now send you the letter I described in my other post. I suggest you take the time to read it, and to use the links to learn and report.
- MauriceI just got a new phone and phone number must have been recycled they call all the time no matter how many times I tell them I'm not that person. Probably a debt collector
- Call type: Debt collector
- Mary mantiaPlease stop harraing me !!!!
- Paula replies to MICHAYou think it is alright to be harassed? I did not make the debt. My dead husband did. Try telling them that & they want me to pay. Sorry but my income stopped when he died. Micha you should be ashamed to be calling people about debt. If they could pay they would!
- LOUWASICalls and never leaves messages, if they are legit, then why won't they leave a message? This is a bunch of bs. All it says on caller i d is toll free call
- Caller: TOLL FREE CALL
- AnonCalls constantly. Picked up once and it silently hanged up, which is fine with me, because I don't have to hear anyone's voice or a pre-recorded message for once. Wish I could block it.
- Caller: PLEASE BLOCK this spam
- Sourpuss| 1 replyI received a phone call from this number. I couldn't make out what they were saying so I hung up. I tried to call back to see who it was and I get a fast busy. The company they have on their caller id is American Agency. If you look that company up it's an insurance company based in New York but the contact number is different. The fact that I couldn't return the call and that the number is different than the one on the company's website, I would not answer this call and block the number.
- Caller: American Agency
- Sourpuss replies to SourpussI just looked up the name of the company again and it's American Agencies - which is a debt collector. I don't owe anyone and not even sure if they were trying to contact me so I just blocked it. What is weird is that you cannot call them back.
- post pending moderator approval
- TheTimeRiderThey call me about once a week, usually on Saturday mornings. They are persistent - most others have given up, since I have my Fax on the same line and it is set to answer after 3 rings. They [or the computer] usually hear the fax tones and give up, thinking it's purely a fax line.
These people don't.....
I NEVER answer calls if I don't recognize the number, so to all the scammers and idiots out there, I wish you luck with that. - BradThey have been calling for a Camille. dont know anybody by that name i asked them to stop calling the next day they were calling back.
- Caller: american agenci
- Call type: Debt collector
- AnonThey left no message. I don't consider them legit by this point.
- Caller: American Agency spam
- Call type: Debt collector
- Annoyed seniorThis # calls every day, but never leaves a message. Being senior’s we never answer #’s we don’t know or leave a message
- D replies to MICHASpoken like a collection agency byproduct...
- d replies to Ex-Debt Collector| 1 replyAnother collection agency waste product. Got some news for you. You getting on here talking smack about consumers getting into legal trouble is what is going to get YOU in legal trouble. You'd think that after a while your mindless bumbs would get, but apparently not. You don't have any right calling people all hours of the day and night, harassing people repeatedly and abusing them. The more you people call, correspond, and threaten the LEAST LIKELY anyone is going to pay. So shut your stupid mouth and follow the law...LEAVE PEOPLE ALONE!!!
- Hmm replies to dReply to 10 year old and 7 year old posts a lot?
- no name because of their scamThey call about once a month, but then when I call back I get white noise and hang up. Internet search identifies them as a debt collector. I call them criminals.
- Baffled in BuffaloMy Consumer Cellular phone came with a Phone Manager, and when I got the phone in early 2016, I got a 'new phone number. It must have been used by a human who owed money to creditors. (I don't and never have been in debt). Each time my phone rings with this number, the call goes to the "Harrassment Filter". The number 88-521-4956 'automagically' goes to the harassment filter. I have some calls on that list starting in July, 2016 until today, Dec 14, 2017. There are 22 calls on the Harassment Filter list as of today. All I can say is that I go and look when I check for calls, but it never rings or shows up on my regular phone list. I guess that is all I can hope for. Wish you all well, there is no hope from government protection agencies, but perhaps phone companies will help us all.
- Caller: No Official Name listed - American Agency?
- Call type: Debt collector
- Anonymous replies to John Whitaker| 3 repliesBy giving and personal imformation (acknowledgement of name, address, and/or phone) that is verifying who you are and admitting to the debt. There is a statute of limitations for a company to pursue you personally for unpaid debt. Best thing to do is tell them they have the wrong number and remove you from there call list.
