- roadking replies to Martinthey called my house 8 times on labor day. I dont even shop at pennys although i did purchase insurance through them from stoebridge ins. which is all up to date
- ARMYMILBOYI also recieved a call from an unlisted number directing me to call this 1-800 number in reference to "my" J.C. Penny credit card. This automated recording said that it was with J.C. Penny's credit services. This is an all around scam for the most part. I dont even have a card from these bozo's. Yet, if you do the scammer's plot is to take your valid card information and use it to rip your account. I have had something like this happen to me before and I fortunately stopped the crooks. Be aware of this automated number. Dont respond back to it!!. If you do have a credit card with J.c Penny, contact them at the phone number that was provided with your credit card. No bank should call you and ask you for your account number or credit card number. You (as the customer) should be the one to initiate the contact...

- JohniI've rec'd at least six phone calls. I just opened up a JCP. Set the new acct up online through a service "linked" to jcp. Made the first pmt online without my statement from this Checksafe type service. I've made two pmts on the internet - both show drafted from my ckg acct but JCP Stmnt shows that I have not made the first payment on my new account and assessed me a late chargea dn passed due now for the second that shows drafted from my checking account! JUST WONDERFUL@! When I rec'd my first statement online I have tried contacting via e-mail to jcp.com and now the 1-800 phone calls returned? Is the checksafe Service linked to jcp.com safe, or are they taking the money and not posting to the accounts they service? then are they assigned to enforce the collections of the accounts that their service did not provide the payments for? What a mess!

- MCThis is a scam, if you call the number it asks for your account number. I called the correct number for JC PEnney for my JC Penney card and they said they have no idea who this number is from and why they would be calling.
- KCMy 14-year-old son is receiving voicemails on his relatively new cell phone with requests to call this number. I found out through my phone company that the number actually making the call is based in Atlanta Georgia and is 678-518-3100. I contacted JC Penney at their customer service number (their actual website) and was told that my son's number was not linked to any account according to their records AND the number 800-527-3369 is not a number that they were familiar with. Needless to say, I've instructed my son not to answer the phone whenever these numbers come up.
- Caller: JC Penney Credit Services GE Money
- RBJC PENNYS CALLED REGARDING PAYMENT FOR INSURANCE BROUGHT THROUGH THEM. STONEBRIDGE INS. THEY CALLED 28 TIMES IN ONE DAY. I AM UP TO DATE WITH PAYMENTS AND THEY SAY YOUR NOT. I EVEN GAVE THEM PAYMENT CONFIRMATION NUMBERS. HAVE THE TIME YOU CANT EVEN UNDERSTAND THEM CAUSE THEY ARE FOREIGN
- Spicie1-800-527-3369 - This is JCPenny's calling. They call numerous times a day 10-23 times!! They never left a message. I called them back and took care of business and they still continue to call over and over and over and over never leaving a message. The calling is harrassing, annoying, I'm done doing business with them because of it.

- frustratedit's collections. but it's not jcp themselves, rather the company that credts them. the people at jcp are too incompetent to understand their own credit cards so they have the crediting company do their collecting. its called from an automatic dialer so dont get pissy if you get a call at a certain time - its random. jcp register workers also sometimes accidentally open an account in which they ythen call you. if you dont have an account maybe you should calm down and listen because someone could have stolen your info and opened up a card
after all thats what happened to me - jeez peopleif they leave a message they can't call back that day. thats why they dont leave messages. most customers in collections wont pay so they try to call them as much as possible to get contact. they can only call 7 times a day though so if you dont get a message from em stop throwing a fit
- smclady19478:19am calls started today. I do not a JC Penny card.
I want the calls stopped NOW.- Caller: Unknown
- kbThis number is GEMB, the legitimate company which issues the JC Penney credit card. They called me this morning and hung up before my phone even rang a second time. Several minutes later they called and said "Hello, this is an important messgage for (my name). Press and key to continue." I hung up because I think it's absurd that they should be calling me over a payment that isn't even 30 days late and I have never been late before. I'm already being penalized with a late fee and interest, do they really have to harass me, too? I did check my statement and this number matches the number on the credit card statment. I probably won't even be using their card anymore after being treated very rudely by a JC Penney Optical Center and having one heck of a time finding any satsfaction from their stores OR products anymore.

- BEEN FRAUDEDIf you pick up the phone when it is ringing, it will more than likely be a collection agency on the other end looking for any kind of info to connect you to an account or create one. If you see the number on your caller ID and call it, you will actually connect to the actual party that the number was assigned to.
It's called phone spoofing. This is mostly done by collection agencies. They pretend to be someone else and getting enough info from you to create an account. Next thing you will get is a paper threat to pay something in full or go to court. Some of us have been dealing with these bottom feeders for months and years. We have programs that track and trace these numbers and then match them to the time and dates with the phone company. None have matched the actual caller. They also spoof themselves as your neighbors. Advice: take your bill or some proof to the phone provider and have them trace. If you owe money or have ever in the past, you can bet places like these will be faking themselves as someone else to get the data they need. Make note that these collection agencies can get a lot of info on people by accessing credit reports. Type:"phone spoofing" in your browser or here's a site for a start: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caller_ID_spoofing . Everyone should be aware of these activities for their own protection. Also see: "predictive dialers" and "VOIP".
Note: Known collection agencies that were tracked: Law Offices of Joe Pezzuto - Collect America, Cavalry Portfolio, Southwest Credit, Lowery Law Group-CACV and Portfolio Recovery Services.- Caller: UNKNOWN

- erikaI've been getting calls all day today, a saturday! I've gotten three so far, one at 10 am, one a little after 11, and one close to 1 pm. I don't have a card with JCP, and in fact don't have any kind of credit to even pass a credit screening for credit cards, because of an identity theft a year and a half ago. I'm going to answer and give them a piece of my mind if they call again!

- victoriaThis number has called our fax number 8 times in the past two days. No faxes come through. I guess it is auto-dialing my fax number thinking it is a voice line.
From reading the comments above it appears this is related, or claims to be related, to a JC Penney account. No one in this household has a JCPenney credit card.- Caller: No Name Received
