- Mike| 2 repliesEven though we are on the "Do Not Call" list, John from AT&T gave me a call anyway. Which leads me to a simple question: Since the government never intervenes to end these unwanted calls, let alone penalize the callers, what is the point of maintaining the "Do Not Call" list? Perhaps tax dollars could be better spent elsewhere.
- Caller: John from AT&T-Direct TV
- Call type: Telemarketer
- TheRealSeriously® replies to MikeMaybe read up on what the DNC actually covers. It's not a call blocker and scammers don't care about the list. Also pretty sure it's funded by the companies that pay into it so they don't call you and not through tax payer dollars...
- Intelligent People replies to Mikeknow that "tax dollars" are not involved in any way shape or fashion to maintain the registry. Intelligent people know what the law says and that they can both report and sue these callers. Perhaps you should use the internet to learn things and then become an intelligent person?
- JaredScam caller promoting scam business
- SISmithSo this scam seems to be starting up again. I have received several off these calls over the past few days. I don't have any TV in my house at all. They disconnect when my answering machine answers, leaving me with "If you'd like to make a call..."

- Fed upWhy on earth would anybody do business with any company that makes annoying cold calls to people on the Do Not Call List? I will never do business with DirectTV based on this alone. Now I am going to block this number but they will probably just keep calling back with another spoofed number.
- Caller: CRAP COMPANY
- Call type: Telemarketer
- AnnoyedCalled my cell phone. I had it mark as spam. Didn't know they called until I went to use my phone! Don't you love the feature to block these [***]!!
- Caller: No ID
- FunnyGot called today around noon. Been curious to see what they would've said to me because they've been calling everyday, so I finally answered. Accented individual (sounded indian...?) greeted me and said they were calling about my direct tv service/att service. Asked how I was liking them, and I just said I am not using either of those services, which I really wasn't. He then literally just said (with a hint of disappointment)... "Well..... that's...... great" and quickly hung up on me.
Pretty funny to me.- Caller: 800 531 5000

- OutragedThese people keep calling me - relentlessly. I don't have Direct TV . I have never had it, and after the nonstop harassment by these aggressively inconsiderate freaks, I will *NEVER* sign a contract with their sketchy company. Seriously, where do I go to sign up for the class action lawsuit against Direct TV? (And c'mon, it's obviously them if they've allowed these robo-harassers free rein to victimize the public in their name all these years.)
- Caller: Direct TV

- AnnoyedThis number called my number last night.
In recent days, I have been interested in AT&T fiber optic internet service, but only that, and no other services, and fiber did recently become available in my neighborhood---once I gave their website my address, the jokers apparently decided to bug me with a phone call, but left no voicemail message, so they are now blocked.- Caller: Satellite TV
- Call type: Telemarketer

- Illuminated OneCall the regular ATT 800 number not the one they provide. Ask to speak to a customer service rep. Complain that they are violating the Federal Do Not Call list. They will make note of your complaint and ask if there is anything else that they can help you with. This when you launch in with an endorsement of their competitor such as Dish Network, Spectrum Cable, Cricket Wireless, Sprint etc. Then say how these wonderful companies would never stop so low as to robocall you. Then point out that you will be visiting the nearest Costco and tell them that you will be speaking to the manager there to demand that they remove the ATT/Direct TV booth from the store. Eventually, the calls will stop. As your state and federal government is useless.
- Caller: ATT/Direct TV
