Called at 9:44AM on Friday, December 17 but failed to leave a message !

I received a phone call from this 800 number and was busy. They called about every 10 seconds until I was able to get to the phone.  It was a DirectTV rep wanting to confirm a cancellation of installation but give me a chance to get to the phone for pete's sake.

But after reading the above postings I am going to be on alert for potential fraudulet calls. If the 800 number is the one all subcontractors use what is to say they don't use it for attempts to gain your personal information.  There is usually very little accountability when it comes to subcontract work and workers so be alert and NEVER give out personal information even if they threaten to send you to collections. True collection agencies have to adhere to strict regulations not just asking for CC numbers over the phone.

I keep getting pphone calls stating its from a debt collector and call this number regarding file # and th don't give a file #.  I owe no one anything so it can''t be my bad debt.  I am reporting them to the FCC.  I am also on a no call list.

It sounds like that call came from an outside source trying to capture your information.  I was recently called from 800-831-5000 (Not 800-531-5000), they claimed to be from DTV, but they were asking the wrong questions.

I have not had direct TV for almost 5 years.  There is no way I owe Direct TV any money.  It would be best to send me a bill for my review if their was a balance when I opted out after over a year of service..  Frankly a bill of this ages is just not collectable when it would have Direct Tv's error for not billing.

My cell is new and this has to belong to a previous owner of the phone number.

I had the same thing happen to me today.  It was that phone number and it was an electronic message talking about debt collecting.

Son realmente muy groceros. Llaman preguntando por alguien que uno no conoce en tono de amenasa. Realmente desagradable.

Called at 2:14PM on Sunday, March 13 but failed to leave a message!

Called at 9:31AM on Monday, March 14 but failed to leave a message !

Robo calls from this number. Didn't get too far into the call before hanging up.
Since we don't have DirectTV, I can only assume it is a scam or phishing attempt.

Called at 11:12AM on Tuesday, March 15 but failed to leave a message !

Got a recorded message from Focus something or other saying it was an attempt to collect a debt.  I don't owe any money to anybody.  It's a scam.

The phone number on caller ID 800-531-5000 is for DTV.. It is the same number left in the voicemail as a call back number but the voicemail is a recorded message from a debt collector, Focus Receivables Management.   hmmmm.....

Direct TV....They keep calling me even I have asked them to stop. They call me six times a day four times a day and they never stop. They have called me since Jan 2011 mon-fri I have told them to stop calling me every single day they have called today is Mar 23 and they still call everyday

got a call from the 800-531-5000 number today. no message.
i canceled my account with them almost a year ago. apparently 4 months ago, they reinstated my contract without my consent or knowledge. also billed a credit card they had on file which had expired, they charged over $250 for past due and me never returning the receivers even though i have 15 emails to them giving them my current address to mail the boxes back to. they kept putting in new expiration dates until they were authorized to bill my card. i have emailed and called and this is still going on. i told them i would report them to the BBB and they said go ahead. so i did. still no resolution or refund on my credit card. i still do not have the boxes to send back the receivers, every time i call i get put on hold for over 15 minutes. apparently they have 1 customer service idiot answering the phones. credit card company is investigating but that will take forever.
NEVER USE DIRECT TV. THEY ARE EXTORTIONISTS.

Called several times with a recorded message saying "this is Focus Receiving. we are a debt collector and have a very important business matter. Please call us at ............" They don't say who they are calling for. Haven't called the number given. If they want whoever bad enough, they will send something in the mail.

This number came up on my caller ID at  8:31 a.m.  The name it showed was "For Closed Capt".  HAve no idea who that might be.

DirecTV calling to schedule a service appointment I had requested.  No sales pitch.

Got a call from this number to thank me for choosing DirecTV and ask if I had any questions.
