Received a call to our land line from this number today (19 Sep 2018) at 6:31 pm (Central Time.) No name displayed on caller ID. I answered anyway. There was no reply when I said "hello." I said "hello" again and still no reply. I held on until I heard the click of the call disconnecting from the other end. We have AT&T Uverse for our land line, cable TV, and internet service. If the call was Direct TV, as many other posts indicate, our home owner's assoc. does not allow satellite dish attachments to the residence roofs and we do not have optimum outdoor space for satellite dish, so we would not subscribe to any "dish" service. Earlier today, we received a call to our land line from AT&T, 800-288-2020, but I could not get to the phone to answer it in time. No message was left from the AT&T call. What's going on? Note: The calls may actually be a scam spoofing the Direct TV toll free number. Received call from this number on 9/18/2018. No message was left.

I am not and have not been a DirecTV or ATT customer so I did not receive this call as a current or former customer. I suspect this is just another scammer using a well known number.

Everyone says it's Direct TV reminding them, or trying to get get them back.. but I dont have the service, have never had the service and we've had the same # for decades... WHY are they calling me? Dont know..dont care.. BLOCKED!!

Called the # back and had to "jump thru hoops" because I didn't have an acct# (well, DAH)...FINALLY got to an agent in INDIA (go figure) and she said "sorry for the inconvenience, I will "make a note of it"!!!

CID to my phone 0n 09.25.18 @ 1644 hrs PT.  Block on Voip & reported to DNC.

For past few weeks we've been getting calls almost daily from this number. CID says "DIRECT SAT TV E". We have no business with Direct TV (or ATT).  I called the # (it actually was ATT's number) to see if they have our phone number associated with any account and the answer was no.  So I blocked the number. Apparently this is another in a spate of calls with spammers spoofing the number and ID of an actual telecom business.

Same thing has been happening with Spectrum (Time Warner) and other telecom companies. We do use Spectrum and so I cannot block that #. The one time I answered the call and got to talk to a live person, he identified himself as a Spectrum representative. By calling Spectrum, I had already determined that the number was being used by spammers. So I told him I knew he was not a Spectrum representative and he immediately changed his message to say he was offering some peripheral product that would enhance my Spectrum service.  I ended the call at that point.

The only way I can quickly determine that the call is not actually Spectrum is that the initial CID is V9062052... rather than Spectrum's 800 number, which shows up in the adjacent CID window (Panasonic phone works that way).

They did the fast double call to get into my voice mail and leave a message.

Scammers spoofing the Direct TV toll free number to scam back braces.

I've had about five or six calls from them. Caller ID is DIRECT SAT TV E. They call, call screening picks up, they never leave a message.
I just changed from AT&T to Spectrum. No calls from Direct TV until the change. No clue whether that is related.
