- MeYep definitely a scam. This is the second time in a month they've tried calling and the "discounted amount" changes each time along with the phone #. Do not go to any of the websites. Also watch out for any calls from anyone claiming to be from "Social Security". There have been a lot of people in the GA area getting calls about not being able to get their Social Security checks unless they could give them the correct bank account information. Social Security and any federal/state system send letters with a number to call about topics like that.
- Caller: Verizon
- Ernie Gibsonsaid they were verizon and were going to give me $193....scammmmmm

- Call type: Telemarketer
- Bobo| 1 replyI too received a call from this number with an offer from Veriozon (not my carrier) of money and to go to www.bzz193.com. This is a definite scam. They also called my wife's number.

- AGAgal replies to bruceI just recieved this call, ignored the first time, and thought nothing of it. Just recieved second call exactly 20 minutes later so I looked it up. I guess they think we are all just really stupid to fall for these things. I hardly ever answer a number that I do not recognize If it is important they will leave a message.
- Lynne BartonI received two calls from 800-600-1228 at 11:00pm. Called back and it said could not go through.

- LISA SEARS-SULTStop calling my phone I am on the Do Not Call list
- Chance replies to OkhanYes - everyone pay attention - this number called today and another number called about a week ago with the same message but different dollar amounts. I called Verizon and its not them! It's a scam to get you to login with your Verizon ID and password and then they have your signin to Verizon which means they have access to your profile. Do not login to website.
- tklSame 2 phone calls...20 minutes apart...reporting to Verizon but they are in the dark????? I understand computer generated phone bank operations but they had to get the data bank from somewhere. This stinks of NSA and Verizon co-opting on some level. Just saying
- Caller: Says it's Verizon
- Call type: Telemarketer
- DebbieMy boyfriend and I both got the call on our phones within a few minutes of each other with the same recorded message about getting $193 from the vzw193 website. We just transferred our numbers from Verizon to another carrier this week and I cancelled the service last night. I got a call the day before I ported my number from 800-510-5480. That guy said I would get a $40 credit if I took their survey so I answered his 3 questions but then he asked for my Verizon account. He actually tried to convince me that he needed it to credit my account after I told him that Verizon's policy doesn't allow employees to ask for passwords. I just hung up but it makes me wonder who's got our numbers, how they got them and how many scammers will they be shared with.
- Caller: scam

- Bob Jenkins replies to Gailon 11-1-2013. I got the same call on my cell phone I called them back from a land line it said the number is no longer in service
- cindyThis same number called my mother in-law she didn't know any better to answer the phone. They upset her because they told her that she owed $193.00 she doesn't pay her bills my husband does. We knew we had not received a biil for that amount. I went to her phone and checked the called ID and found the 1-800-number I know now not to call them back, but I did and I got a Busy signal. The people catch the elderly and scare them into paying them, luckly she can't give any information to them.
- Caller: she can't rember
- DaphneThese people are NOT Verizon or Verizon Wireless, so NOT fall for this scam!
I just received a call from these people claiming to be Verizon Wireless and said they were giving me $200 off my bill. It was a robo call.
The thing about the "people" behind this scam is they keep changing their phone number the caller id is picking up and the numbers are never the same. Some offer websites to go to, never go to them because as soon as you do these people will have everything secured on your computer and your identity. The basis of these calls is to scam people out of their personal information not only for identity but to steal money from what ever financial institutions one deals with.
Supposedly the "real" Verizon is aware of these calls and are working on finding the entity doing this in their name and to those who use are their Verizon customers.- Caller: NOT VERIZON (SCAM)
- Call type: Prank
- Daphne replies to BoboPlease!
NOBODY click on that website! It will scrub your computer lifting all personal information, identity and contacts from the computer!
These people are not Verizon but looking for people who will click on the website so that they can steal information and criminally use the information and identities lifted. - Paula A replies to janeI got the same calls. Also exactly 20 minutes apart!! Pls warn any elderly family or friends as my mother also got these calls and it upset her because she didn't understand what she was suppose to do.
