I got two calls exactly 20 minutes apart.  I did not answer and they did not leave a message.  I have added the number to the "reject call" list through my Galaxy S4 after reading this page.

Two calls within half an hour Sunday afternoon. I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize, and these clowns can go %@#$%^&* themselves. They'll never get a nickel out of me . . . . hahahahahahaha!

Rang mobile twice, 20 minutes apart. Left no message. The web address mentioned above, vzw53 dot com also sent me an e-mail. That was scam spam. Assume these calls are the same.

I got this call on my work cell, as well as another known scam number.  Again, a few minutes apart.  I let these go to voice mail, since this is a work phone and I should NOT be getting 800 calls on it.  Haven't gotten any messages from this number, although I have from the other scam number.

Verizon's DB got hacked and that is why this scammer is calling up all of their customers numbers.

I hope no one, on this site anyway, is believing this load of b.s.!! These illegal calls are made by scammers, criminals, crooks, ect. This is in no way , shape, or form, any type of legal operation checking numbers that are 'powered' or 'working'. Verizon doesn't give a rat's a$$ if you keep your phone off all the time if you pay your crazy high $15 a month fee for a phone you don't even use! I have two phones that rarely get used that I pay $7 a month for.

don't you use your computer to research how these idiots operate! you could also just read this thread! they could be out of the country or probably just really good at hiding so that it would take some pro hackers to find these guys. they spoof numbers. They don't dial phones unless it's to tell their girlfriend how many stupid people went to their webnets, I mean websites!

I have also received calls from this #.  I spoke with my cell provider and the way it was explained to me is this is an overseas company who recieves money from their government to get your information. Because the call does not originate in the US there is nothing that can be done about it.

Just got a call from this number. Called it back, got a recording the number was not available. Some kind of BS for sure

I received a call from this number stating I was chosen to receive $51 off of my Verizon bill, and to log into my account at  VZW51.com to claim the discount. Thank God I'm smart enough to know if Verizon was going to give me a discount, they would just credit my bill.

The message ended with we do care about you...thank you and have a nice day...I didn't get the company

Just got two calls within twenty minutes from this number to my work-issued cell (Verizon service).  No message was left either time.
From other reports here - and thanks to you all for taking the time! - apparently a phishing scam.

Two calls in a row, just like above claiming to be Verizon, but giving directions to a different website than my usual Verizon website.  How stupid do they think we are?  There must BE some people stupid enough to go to their website or they wouldn't keep doing this.

Recieved two calls, exactly 20 minutes apart, just as reported. Didn't answer either call. I currently have T-Mobile, but ported my number from Verizon six years ago.

Received 2 calls three minutes apart today    no message    going to block this number too thru Verizon ha ha  

I did not answer - the same no. called twice as 2 missed calls and unknown
