I just got a call from this number 1-800-600-1228, picked up and heard last part saying go login to my account to claim money from verizon. After I read the above comments it is a scam.

I did not pick up the phone when someone at this number called me. But now that I've seen the posts of other people, I thought I'd add my comment as well....definitely a scam!

As with many others on here, I got 2 separate calls, 20 mins apart, from this number and no messages left. It was suspicious and I'm glad I found this board!

I just got a call to my cell from this number.  I heard my phone vibrating but (luckily!) didn't get to it in time.  No message was left.  My cell number USED to be with Verizon but I ported it to another carrier who gave me a much better deal.  

It's very uncommon for me to get scam calls or texts to my cell.  Hope this isn't the start of a new trend!

ETA: another call 20 minutes later from the same scammer.   3:51 pm and 4:11 pm today.  I will try to go into my account on line and see about blocking the number.  My phone does not have a call-blocking feature on it.  I wonder if that will work if the number is spoofed.

Called BOTH of our AT&T cell phones telling us of a $51 boon on our Verizon account, telling us to go to www.vzw51.com from 800-600-1228. Don't have Verizon. 800 number doesn't track. Search for info on website WITHOUT GOING TO IT yields nothing.  Would report to FTC but it is not a viable number.

I got a calls from.this number. I didn't answer. Then I called back and is a recorder message saying this phone number is not available to receive a call. Thieves.

Got two calls from this number in the last two weeks. I did not answer but they did leave two voicemail messages. The first said to go to some site to get my $333 and second one said to go to the same sit to get my $51!  Since this is a work phone I do not actually have an account with Verizon, so I immediately figured it was a scam.

They caller me to and I'm with ATT..

Got two calls from this number but they didn't leave a message. I don't have a contract phone and have never been with verizon. Where did they get my number

Received 11/8/13 at 10:53am and 11:13am, 20 min apart, didn't answer and no message left.

Called from landline and got busy signal every time! Gonna block the number. After reading comments I am happy I never answered being it is a scam to get into your Verizon account and charge lots of $!

Just received two calls from this number.  I am reporting it to Verizon.

Two calls 20 min apart saying 71.00 was deducted from my account. ?? Search said it was a service number. I don't have verizon so I don't know. Scam alert!!!

2 calls from 8006001228? I owe money? No info given. Sounds like a scam to me. Reporting it to FTC.
