Caller indicated that at Dell they received a signal that my computer had a virus. Wanted remote access to my computer. Told them it was a scam and called Dell directly. They told me they are having this problem for about a year. It's a third party using Dell as a facade and then charging fees to check and infest, yes infest, your computer with virus. After two calls on my cell, now they are contacting me on my office number. Can't believe! who has all my contact information? Is this a Dell breach of information?

This is a scammer, claiming to be dell. Give them hell if they call.

The caller said he was from Dell & they discovered malware on my computer and wanted to show me how to remove it, all I had to do was go to a web site and allow him to access my computer. When I questioned his validity he said he had my service tag number and insisted I get to my computer right away, I gave him a REALY hard time for about 3 minutes and he never hung up.  I called the number that was on my caller ID and it was a recording like I have heard from Dell before.

The thing that I knew it was a phishing scam Dell does not have the phone number they called in on.

Ditto on all previous comments. First time they called they hung up. Second time they called they started asking questions and when I countered with follow-up questions on the validity of their questions they hung up. I suspect that by the time they read all of the comments here, they will figure out a more sophisticated way to approach those they call.

claimed they were with dell and that "they have been receiving "warning messages" over the past 0few days from my computer, do I know what they are talking about?"  I said no I don't but if there was a problem I would fix it myself.  I hung up 0n them.
This is not the first time whoever this is has tried this.  They are trying to gain access to my computer not going to happen.

Got a call from this number an Indian? person notified me of some security issues related to my Dell  computer security and stated I had a security issue on my Dell.  I asked when this incident last happened  he said "this morning" but my computer has been off for three days do to travel.  I thanked him and hung up.

Do not be deceived and don't call the # back--apparently their system detects that & it triggers more calls ("we're returning your call"). I've received many calls from these scammers, most recently on 09-24-2015. Caller claims to be from Dell Computers calling because my system is sending "numerous critical error messages," & name in caller ID said Dell. I never discuss anything with anyone who calls out of the blue so first time they called, I asked the guy to hold and called Dell and Alienware, who both said it's a fake call, not from them. Scammers keep calling, sometimes saying it's Microsoft. I laugh at them and hang up.

Stop unwanted callings from unknown caller!!!!

It said Dell.  I didn't answer my phone and they didn't leave a message.  If a computer company is calling me, they should know that I will not give out any information about my computer.   What would their customer service recommend about answering such calls.  Nope.  I smell spam!

4-6 calls a day from this number

Day and night calls from Dell, no one answers when the call is answered - the call drops, probably being transferred from overseas call center. I have purchased 4 Dell will NOT purchase another after these harassing calls, and they only last about 2 years with very lite usage.

It's a scam, save it in your contacts as SCAM and don't answer it when it comes up.  It's NOT Dell calling.
An East Indian male asked me 'are you sitting in front of your computer?'  I said 'I don't own a computer' and they hung up.

This number has called my cell, and my mothers home phone, little do they know that I am a second level support tech for dell at ford, and boy did I let them have it. Its a bogus call, scam, and nothing but useless people

They said it was Dell and my computer was sending error messages asked for employee number to call company main number info to verify and they hung up.  Called Dell and they check this number and said it does not match up to any department in their company

Caller ID identifies as Dell Computer, number 800-624-9896.  Did not answer as it was an obvious "computer virus" scam with a spoofed caller ID signature, as I do not own a Dell computer.   Recommend against answering, because there is usually no reason Dell would be contacting anyone by telephone or even having records of a purchaser's phone number.
