Today was the 3rd call I've received from them (1st time was about 2.5 weeks ago, then yesterday, then today); I haven't picked up, but when I called the number back it gave this recording: "Public Interest. Message 411."  Another toll free number just two digits off (800-672-3014) seems to have the same issue.

This phone number calls me EVERY single night.  I don't pick up and when I call it back it just rings.

i too have gotten this call every night for about a month. what gives?

at least three times a day.  i don't answer or am not at home.  to a cell phone so i can see who's calling.  very annoying.

Called me at midnight last night (12:19am eastern)!  First time.

They call me at least once a day. I suspect that it's OSPIRG (or another PIRG) because I pledged $15 to them just to get them to stop talking to me, but I can't afford to pay it and so I haven't.

They have called twenty times since April.
Every day in June, including weekend evenings!
So bloody annoying!!!

Two times every night. I finally answered and they were asking for money. Yeh right... They won't see a dime from me. Had they not annoyed me so much I might have thought twice.

this number has called me for the past month, several times at different times of the day I never answere 800 numbers but they never leave a message.  Who the hell is this>?  what do they want I tell you what Im going to do Im going to answere next time.  That will be interesting!  yea same bs  " public servcice message 411.. when you try to call back.  No message, how rude!

I was receiving calls often, so I finally answered.
I found out that it is ENVIRONMENTAL ACTION  calling their Monthly Supporters(which I am) to see if anyone would like to increase their contribution.
So, chances are if you've ever stopped to talk to someone on the street about the Environment and donated $$$ or given them your phone number that's why their calling.
They are actually very nice - If I were you, I'd pick up next time they call and hear them out, then just ask to be taken off their call list.

This is a not-for-profit call center working on behalf of several environmental groups.  In my case they called me because of my support of PennEnvironment and asked me to call my congressman about clean energy legislation.  This is a very worthy effort and the caller was very nice and knowledgeable.

They called, I answered, then they hung up. Huh? Seems tough to raise donations with that strategy.

It is the only "person" that calls me the most on my second cellular phone. It is just unbelievable how annoying they are. Why do they keep calling if no one is answering?
If I had a nuke. I would gather all those annoying companies together and press the red button! Yes, I am tat mad.

did not pick up - called back and they work with environment california - to which I sometimes donate money.
you should be rewarded for donating to environmental change advocates by harrassing phone calls from similar organizations.  it's a shame.

I understand your frustraition, but they were just working off an automated dialer and calling back everyone who didn't answer... its a computer system. Yes, its annoying to have the same number call you over and over, but they are raising money for an important cause, (one you probably showed some interest in previously) which is why they have your number in the first place. So every day, two times a day, when you didn't answer your phone, it was only you being a neurotic [***], not a malicious attempt at annoyance by some evil environmental group.

Numerous, random calls at various times of the day and evening; they've never left a message;
called tonight, (Sunday evening), at 9:00 p.m. during family dinner:  made me want to scream...!
