- gabycall at least once a day, every day. got called at 11pm once! never leave msg, never called them back. its ridiculous, i believe its a machine just trying to figure out when you do answer the phone. so that when you do, they record the time and call you back with a real person at that time another day.

- Sarah replies to Diana| 2 repliesI just answered a call from this number and it was from Environment California, they're not bad people, just trying to promote a good cause.
- SCR replies to Wow.Yes, it is very annoying to have the same number call seveal times a day for weeks or even months at a time and never have the curtesy to LEAVE A MESSAGE. I'm not being a neurotic a*shole when I don't answer a phone call I don't want. It's my money paying for the telephone which I provide for my convenience...NOT for the convenience of someone else to call repeatedly begging for money.
If you can't leave a message it's not a legitmate phone call in the first place - don't call back. - lyndaI have to say I feel the same. They have been calling my house 4xs a day sometimes as late as 9:30 at night for the past 4 months. I have never signed up or given my info to any orginization like that. When I do make donations its in cash and I never give out my personal info to anyone. I am just plain tired of it.

- JohnL replies to Annoyed at YOU!!| 1 replyNo, you don't have to have shown any interest in them to get on their list. They have me and I have never given to them or talked to them. They get names from other environmental groups or from places like reserveamerica.com That is a site you can use to get camping perrmits and and they assume campers are environmentalists. Further, the autodialer is a cop-out. You can't tell me they can't have the thing drop your number after a given number of unsuccessful attempts!
- ShainaThey call me every single night- pretty late, when I used to live on the west coast it wasn't that bad to have my phone ring at 9 or 10 pm, but now on the eastern time zone, I get phone calls at 12 or 1 am, I know it's environment california calling, I donated money to them once, and now they wont stop hounding me for more money.....They also use a 503 area code number and a 914, the thing that bugs me is that they NEVER leave messages, at least other non-profits actually have people call you....

- MikeThey keep calling well after 9PM. There should be laws against this. Are there any lawyers willing to initiate a class action suit? I would be willing to donate money to that!

- nick replies to Gold Sticker for You!it's spelled "frustration."
- TonyThey call every single night for me, too. It MUST be OSPIRG, I hate those guys.

- MariaCall most every night, anywhere from 5 to 10, sometimes earlier in the day, and sometimes several times/day. I already reported another number, and the calls from that number stopped, but then the calls from this number immediately started!!! [***] OFF!!!
- PokySmotSo I get a call from this number.. They say they are from my local PIRG and want/need my money to serve my public interests and go on and on about events that could be happenink in my area. So's, I tell them a little lie. I says: I have no money, I am poor, and I tell them that their public interests are not in line with my self interest; that is to say, I cannot care about the environment when I have 7 mouths to feed on a fixed income, and have no legs to stand on. I add that even if I did have money they should not be calling me at 10PM on a Sunday. So's, I politely asks them to call back at a more decent hour... Und dey say dat day would. But when was the next time I get dee call? 10PM on Monday. Sheesh. If your excuse is that it is an automatic dialer that utilizes a computer program. I says that a bad excuse and a worse program.

- delcoI have been getting calls from this number at least once a day for at least 6 weeks. Sometimes I get 2-3 calls at different times of the day. I have picked up the phone and no one answers. I call the number back at it never answers. It just rings and rings. I disconnect my phone and just leave the caller ID hooked up in the evening. I do have voice mail.

- delcoI reported this just 10 mins ago and they called me back. You know what is really bad? I can block calls, but I can't block any 800 numbers. Go figure.

- SC staffI have gotten at least 3 calls from this number in the past week. I also don't answer and they don't leave a message.
I work for the Sierra Club and we would NEVER do automated "telemarketing" calls like this, it's so impersonal and ridiculous! I don't care what the cause is, this is not the way to raise money. - migratorThey called twice in the last week and hung up when I answered the phone. It doesn't make sense to treat callers this way since it is annoying the people you are using to support your causes.
- DC replies to Wow.I agree with SCR. I am not an [***]. I am a busy parent working at my home office. If their cause is so important to them (I am not saying it is not to me) then they should have the courtesy to leave a message. Repeated calls then hanging up -- my answering machine picked up, so it was answered -- is harrassment, pure and simple. Certainly turns me off toward contributing.

- R replies to Diana| 1 replyThey have called me almost every night for the past two weeks at relatively late hours and they never leave a message. I appreciate good causes, but not bad means.
- victoria| 1 replyI just got a call but didn't get to it in time, I'm glad to know who it is for when the call back (I did sign up with them.) I just want to let everyone that has gotten so many calls from them and have been so frustrated to please just pick up when they first call or please be patient. I worked at a call center for college and we had the automated dialing system - if no one picks up or it is busy it generally calls back the same night, if it goes to an answering machine it will get put back in to call another night- if you pick up and speak to someone and tell them you are busy they will try again another night or ask when it would be best for you...so on and so on, the best thing to do if you don't want to talk to them is pick up listen to what they are telling you and just say thank you for your time but I do not want to receive these phone calls. (and then if they do call back, you have a right to be annoyed.)
One time when I was calling alumni, I called one woman whose record showed that we call her 8 times in the course of a few days and she never picked up... she picked up screaming when I called her. It was too bad - we were trying to invite her to an alumni event but since she refused to pick up the phone before hand -she is now angry with her alma mater.
