Its a environmental organization/charity. I live in IL so it was Environmental Illinois, but would change for your specific state.

Theyre very good at pushing for you to give more money and sign up for monthly donations, so if you dont want to be bothered with explaining your way out, dont answer.

get a call from this number several times a week...I never answer....they never leave a msg.

this must be a paid-for call center...they represent a lot of organizations.  this is what cuts into a charity's payout to the cause--them hiring people to do their phone calling for them  i would give to other charities!

Calls almost daily.  Thought is might be a legit survey until reading this site.

have had at least 25 calls from them  just this month and all that is said about hang up not leaving messages and calling back getting  busy is true-this -the last time I picked up fast-man asked for me and  I didnt give him a chance to say anything but  informed him  he was not to call again or I wold  contact the gov  agency that governs communications -they would call around 8 in the morning and close to 9 at nigh  at least twice a day now for at least  one month-  they are not the only  ones to do this-I have an unlisted number and  had but it means nothing do not call-

I want them to stop calling my number if they cannot leave me a message.

It was a call from Environment Florida. I was actually fine with giving a donation for the cause.

Called me twice the last two nights at 9pm (West Coast Time).  They don't bother to leave a message, just continue to harass.

It's either don't answer, and be harassed by their daily calls, or answer, and be harassed to give money, and hopefully pause the calls for a week or two... before they forget you told them not to call, and start all over again. I'm very familiar with both options. They're both terrible.

Well I called the 800-672-3012 number back that just called me and went through the whole recording message.  At the end- it offered to remove me from there call list by typing in my number that they had contatced me on.  After I did that it told me "thankyou- you have been removed from our call list and to allow 5-10 business days to be removed.  We'll see if this worked or not.  I get calls about 3 times a week.  I use to donate to OSPIRG, a non-profit group  which is primarily made up of a bunch of liberal, tree hugging hippies here in good ol' Portland, Oregon and I believe that's what there calling about.

The group they claim to be may be legit, but the call seems like a scam.

They claimed to be calling from an environmental group in WA about support for the protection of rainforest around Mount Rainier.

They were claiming they wanted to just renew my donation I made to them before, I have never donated to an environmental group.  They claimed last time I gave $35 and wanted me to pay the donation of $100 this time.  I asked them to send the info the same address as last time, and just asked them to confirm it, the address is somewhere I have never lived ever.

I hope this isn't a scam, as lots of people seem to have donated money, but seeing as they had my name right, but past donation records and address wrong it feels more like a fishing scam.

Also they called me on my roommates phone, which my name has never been associated with, so they must have gottn my address from a listing somewhere and match a phone number to the address.

I receive a call from this number about once a day for the past several weeks. I noticed that someone mentioned PIRG (Public Interest Research Group) earlier in one of the comments. That is who this probably is. Haven't actually answered the phone yet. They're looking for a donation. Ive dontated to them before, so they're probably looking to get me to start a monthly donation. I'm going to donate because I like the cause, but their automated dialer is persistent.

This is Global Lease.  They are a company that provides insurance for Payment Solutions and Merchant Services, which in my opinion are a scam.  They tell you that you are going to pay much less than other credit card processing companies, then once you sign a lease, they hit you with all sorts of fees.  Do not sign up with these companies!!

These people said I had won a CALIFORNIA ENIRONMENTAL LOTTERY and wanted to credit my savings account electonically.  I have heard that they are really from ROMANIA and are sophisticated ID thieves and scammers....gypsies, tramps and thieves. DO NOT ANSWER AND PUT THESE PEOPLE ON A REDIRECT TO ROMANIA.

I CONSISTENTLY get unwanted calls from this number, Please stop them from calling me!!!

That is what they wanted you to do. Be worn down and donate money. Just hang up. You don't have to talk to anyone you don't want to.

Here is what I have done with calls like this when I have accidentally answered. They will ask for someone and I say, "Just a moment. They're outside and I will get them." Then I lay the phone down and walk away, so they are left with "air"
