- Cory| 1 replyI asked to be taken off of their list and they guy said, "uh, no" and then hung up.
- Rita replies to DianaAre they subject to the "Do Not Call" rules? I know that some groups are exempt. I don't mind them trying to reach me, but calling after 9PM is not okay if you have small children in the house (bedtime is 8:30 here).
- WorkingOnMyBoundaries replies to CoryWhat I have done is to tell them to take me off their list, not ask or suggest. Maintaining my sanity is my responsibility and this is one way for me to do so.
- rebmomaCalled after 9:00 pm... wondered if they were calling from the Mountain time zone. Apparently not.
I DON'T APPRECIATE CALLS AFTER I GO TO BED. SOLICITORS WHO CALL OUT_OF_STATE SHOULD CAREFULLY CHECK THE TIME ZONE THEY ARE CALLING IN.
BTW, I don't answer phone numbers I don't know anyway. I've taken to hanging up on those who call that I don't know so I don't have to listen to the annoying ring or interact either.- Caller: 8006723012
- JR| 1 replyAfter receiving about 15 calls from this number, including multiple calls on the same day, I picked up the phone on 2/21 and it was indeed Environment California. The caller was apologetic about all the calls but assured me that once they got a live person on the line, the calls would stop. He was so nice I agreed to slightly increase my monthly donation, and I hung up, satisfied that was the last of it.
Today, another call from this same number. This time, it was Environment Oregon. The caller ran through a bunch of reasons my previous call wouldn't have been noted in the database (caller didn't enter it, gave to a different organization, etc.) but it amounted to the same thing: I am apparently still not rid of this organization.
It's a good cause but apparently lousy management. Guys, it's not hard--many other worthy organizations manage to raise money without annoying the h*ll out of their donors. Figure it out.- Caller: Environment Oregon
- Call type: Political call
- Elizabeth replies to DianaI donated to them $10 a month for 1 year. I am not kidding they have called ever since for over a year now if not every day/night every other. I have answered once and told them no thank you I do not want to renwe my donation at this time. Apparently they have a lot of time on their hands and persisance=annoyance not donations.
- britI had been donating to them for over 2 years. Then somehow my checking account stopped letting them take money out automatically so they started calling me non-stop, every day at 9pm! I finally answered and they said they wanted my account info again. I said "I would rather do it online, please stop calling me" They replied: "There is no way to do it online" WTF. There is always a way to do it online, and when I got home that night I did find a way on their website. So apparently their employees are idiots? AND they keep calling me even though I fixed my account info online... I even told them to stop calling me last time.... Makes me want to stop donating.

- tag replies to SarahWhatever they are trying to promote, it is annoying when they won't stop calling! How could I get rid of these people?!
- asdf replies to Annoyed at YOU!!you must work for these weirdos
- DKDI am getting several calls a day from this number but since my cell phone is in my purse and is on vibrate I never answer it and they never leave a message. I suspect it is OSPIRG but I have no way of knowing that since I haven't spoken to them. But it is very annoying.
- annoyed in ILEvery day for 3 weeks, as many as 3 times a day! If so important, I agree why not leave a message. As for the yada-yada stories of automated dialer etc., get a clue Environmental Action.Org. If you are capable, within your system to keep this phone annoyance going, you are capable of programming the system to drop re-dials after lets say 10 unanswered? Seems generous to me. Why is it that the marketing managers regardless of entity being non-profit or not, do not get that after you pull this as many times as you have, there is no way in hell I would give a red cent. In marketing my whole life. Try this:
Good afternoon this is ........ rather than take up your valuble time with our many, many unidentified toll free calls, placed to your home repeatedly, even late at night here is our brief mission should you care to listen, and perhaps you would be willing to........ get the picture?
If groups such as yours would show some common sense, you just might get a donation.- Caller: Environmental Action.Org

- annoyed in ILJust this second yet another. Call the number back. It is a recording.
What a trip- they represent every environmental group it seems.
Best part is the end of the message where they say you can leave a message to be removed from the call list and to press 1 "Sorry the mailbox is full" Yea right!- Caller: Fund for the Public Interest aka Enir CA
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- cbfNo name on the caller ID.
- Tired of Unsolicited CallsFrequent caller. I never pick up and they never leave a message. Our caller id says "Out of Area."
- bridgeti was getting a call every day at varying times. i called back and the recording said i just needed to enter my phone number followed by the # and they would take me off their list within three days. lets see if they do it.
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- Mark S. replies to SarahDoes anyone know if they're legit...could be a scam.
- hmm.. replies to JRThose are two different organizations .. neither whom share lists, so even if you were taken off the enviro one, PIRG would (should) have no idea, becuase they don't sell numbers.
- <3Environment California calls me once a year and asks for $5 more monthly - I give $1 more a year because I'm a student. Sometimes I miss their call a few days a row.
Getting missed calls every few days .. .less annoying than oil companies polluting my environment and taking hold of my government by pumping in their dirty money.
I think I'll deal with the phone calls.- Caller: Environment California
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- WendyIt is OSPIRG (or what used to be called that) and it is very annoying.
- Caller: OPSPIRG
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- Annoyed| 1 replyThey call my cell phone EVERY DAY multiple times a day. I have them listed as "DO NOT ANSWER - ENVIRONMENTAL ACTION" and my call log will display at least 4 missed calls from them in a row, daily. It's ANNOYING.
The first few times I answered, I declined giving any donations and yet the guy STILL kept trying to get a commitment from me. Even after I told him, he told me he'd set aside a pledge for me and call me back. NO MEANS NO.
This has been going on for at least a year. FINALLY BLOCKED THEM!
WARNING: A friend of mine met one of their workers in person, and offered a ONE TIME donation of $10. She didn't have cash so she used her credit card, and instead of a one time thing, they made it into a recurring payment without her knowledge. DO NOT TRUST THEM. THERE ARE BETTER ORGANIZATIONS!- Caller: ENVIRONMENTAL ACTION
