Yes! It is Wells Fargo! My mortgage pmt due on the first and late after 17th! These calls start on the 2nd! They call SEVERAL times a day and never idenify themselves and never leave a message! You would think a large company such as WELLS FARGO would properly idenifiy themselves or leave a message. Also the phone only rings 2-3 times and they hang up!  Then they have the nerve to ask if I would like to ADD another number to be contacted at?? Why so you can harass me more? My payment is ALWAYS made on time!

I rent and these clowns keep calling me to tell me about someone else's late mortgage. The next step is to send a cease and desist letter sincee they seem to think I am lying about my identity.

It sounds like somebody took out a mortgage with Wells Fargo and did not plan to make the payments.  They put a fake phone number on the loan application to avoid the collections calls.  Their fake phone number is your real phone number.  

Similar happened to me only it was a car loan and the person they were looking for was named Michael.  They were calling up to 6 times each day.  I got rid of them by telling them that "I know you are Wells Fargo Auto Finance.  There is no one named Michael at this phone number. You have GOT to stop calling this number."  And yes, I emphasized the word "got".  It worked.  I got one more call for Michael, a 3rd party debt collection company.

So before you pay for a lawyer try confronting them like that.  Order them to stop calling.  It can't hurt to try.

I just got a call from this number, and I do not have a mortgage, or any other account with Wells Fargo.  Its obviously a scam.

Its amazing how many users would come in to defend this as being a legit company.  I guess they figure, the more dopes they can convince to call the number, the more likely they would be to steal your identity, and raid your bank account.

I'm not sure why there are so many disparaging comments about Wells Fargo Home mortgage.... We asked for help and in less than six months from the time I first called, they set up a new payment system for us and had all the paperwork done, had all of our info processed, sent all new paperwork out to us to be signed with a public notary on their dime. With the assistance from the HARP program, we reduced our payment by over $300.00 per month, and reduced our mortgage by over $32,000.
I think the big difference was I called them and said we needed help, instead of them chasing us all over for 6 to 9 months trying to reconcile anything...

I don't know why these MF are calling us? We are up to date on our payments. We HATE Wells Fargo. They bought our mortgage from another mortgage company. WElls Fargo are a bunch of SCAM BAGS & Crooks. Leave me the the F--- alone. I don't want any crook deals from these MF. Legal actions will be placed if this doesn't cease.

Wells Fargo has serious issues within thier mortgage servicing not the least of which is multiple calls a day to the same number.  Althought not a third party collection shop most groups conform to the FDCPA, Wells does not. Making a phone ring multiple times during the day, my caller id picks up the calls is poor business.  They are also clueless when it comes to escrow accounts, and taxing agencies.  The raised by monthly payment 120.00 saying that was the new increase, actually according to the taxing authroity it went up 7.00, simply clueless.

This is a Wells Fargo Home Mortgage Loan Collector. I redialed the number and it is Wells Fargo. I do have a mortgage with them and I am behind by 1 month's payment. So they call day and night. At least 4 calls a day. Last week I called them to explain why I am late and while talking to them they were leaving me a voicemail to tell me call them to made a payment because I am late.

I keep getting calls from this number saying that they are Wells Fargo and that we are late on a payment when it's still in the grace. We have till the 16th of the month to pay and they call us even on the firstwe want the calls to stop now I told them that we are going to report them to the state if they do not stop.

Please block the 1800 calls

When you google the number it comes up as a legitimate Wells Fargo number, with "Contact a Home Preservation Specialist at 1-800-678-7986".  Yes we have an acct with them but have never been late.  This is the phone number used for if you are behind on your payments and want to work something out.  They never leave any info but call multiple times during the week. Sounds fishy, but then again all of the banks sound fishy these days.

I do not have, and have never had a Wells Fargo loan.  They are not my mortgage servicer, and have never been and yet that call daily leaving a message stating that they are attempting to collect a debt.

This is WFHM collection. I applied for a 5 Yr ARM and was told I could skip the current month's payment. Well the application is still pending and now I am 23 days late so I paid finally the installment since the application appears to be lost in the Wells Fargo trash can.
They ask you several questions like are you living there full time and if you plan to keep the house.

I keep getting these calls every morning from Wells Fargo Mortgage Services. They call and ask for my son. I tell them that he has not lived with me for 16 years. I kindly have asked them to not call me!!!!!!!!!!!!! They keep calling. What a bunch of damned ingrates that do not understand. What the [***] do they want from me? Am so annoyed.

These people are NOT Wells Fargo!  I have a mortgage with Wells Fargo, and I was indeed late on my payment.  However, we took care of it directly with Wells Fargo.  Two days later, we begin receiving these phone calls of people claiming to be with Wells Fargo and the purpose of their call is to "collect on a debt".  When you confront them head on, they get nervous and "stick to the script" they are given.  They then state that they have been "retained" by Wells Fargo to "collect on debt" and again, if you continue to go at them head on, they have no idea what to say or do, but the hilarious part is that they are NOT allowed to hang up the call!  Then this particular caller became agitated with us because we would not agree to "confirm the amount we paid" and when we paid it!  Well, if you are Wells Fargo - YOU should know this! They have to keep going until they either convince you to pay over the phone OR you hang up on them.  Have a little fun with it!  We KNEW that we had paid the bank days earlier, and it was quite funny to listen to them dodge back and forth with us when we kept telling them they needed to get their stuff straight!

Received a call from this number (1800-678-2986) stating "This is Sarah, I am calling about your mortgage with Wells Fargo".... provided long detailed info about business hours and then stated this is an attempt to collect a debt. Foolishly I called the number and got something about "just because I called... I have won a vacation... I listened a bit and then realized it is clearly a scam and probably trying to charge my phone service number for the call or???  I am placing the number on call block. done.

I got caught because I had just been to the bank and their systems are all down due to power outage last night. Worrisome how weak the system might be ... other businesses, including the bank next door, were up and running but Wells Fargo is closed.
