Why don't you call WF at the provided number to see if they are trying to reach you or not. Their number is locate on your bill and/or online.

Other than that, just pay your mortgage and if they call back, then you'll know if it's a scam or not.

They are persistent! I said hi and the guy said let me give you my name and number then we will get started.
Get started with what? I didn't ask for anything. My mortgage is not even late for 4 more days!!! I pay all my late fees, pay the payment every month, what else do they want in an economy that sucks?? I pay every month in full so leave me alone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This number IS Wells Fargo Mortgage.
It is their collection department. They call anyone who is late with their payments.
They call every day until you are current.
They never leave a message.

If you got a call, you either have a late payment or somebody who is late listed your number on their account.

The number is valid.  They called me and started asking for my personal informtaion.  I thought right away that they were a scam.  The caller was very rude so I hung up on him.  I then went online and checked my accounts and I found that my payment was late so I paid it.

I just wished they called me when my payment wasn't received on time and was nice about.  There would have been no reason to turn it over to collections.  It wasn't as if I meant to not pay them and I had the money.  Makes me wish I never did business with Wells Fargo and I won't in the future.

Yeah, they call me too. Everyday. several times a day. I used to answer and got hung up on. Now I take a peak at the phone when it rings, and if I see it is them calling, just ignore it. Their scare tactics won't work on me.

SCAM!  Do not call.  If you do have a WF mortgatge, look up & call that # directly.

They just left a message on a university's tech support hotline. I think the # that the call came from was 800-678-7986

The message:  "this is Amy from Wells Fargo calling about your mortgage.  Please call 1-800-848-9862."

Just because caller ID shows a number, that doesn't mean it's legit.  Scam artists spoof numbers to display on Caller ID with VOIP.  A caller to my company last year showed a different # every time they called.  One time, the caller ID showed MY number calling ME.  Not sure if this is a scam or not for wells fargo, but wanted to clarify that caller ID isn't something to put your faith in since it can be faked.

It is Wells Fargo. If you don't have an account with them then it's likely that the person who had the number before you did or that somebody with an account gave Wells Fargo a bogus number. Wells Fargo may also now own a loan that you took out with a different bank. It's worth talking to them long enough to at least figure out which of these things is the problem.

Visual voice mail call from 800-999-8501 was very inappropriate, since I have no business at all. Voice mail had an attached file and of course I did not open it. I called back and machine asked me to give my loan number or social security number.   I managed to talk with the person, without giving my soc. no, and the person said there is no such phone number on the list. I am highly suspecting this is a part of scam.

Guess what I just learned from a Rich Dad Poor Dad webinar. When you are ONE day late on your mortgage the bank counts it as 30 days late so if you are what you think of as FOUR days the bank counts it  as 34 days late. I don't exacly understand how thiey are able to do it but ask them to explain it in writing to you. They can't refuse to do it. Knowledge is POWER.

I have been receiving calls from this number 2X or 3X a day. I have a mortgage with Wells Fargo and I have been in contact with them when ever I have a problem but I still receive these calls daily. Is there anything I can do to stop this annoying problem?

Unless you do not have a business relationship with them, there is nothing you can do.

I was getting telemarketing calls from Bank of America for three months after I closed my account with them and there was nothing I could do because, according to the FCC, this was legal. In other words, these mighty corporations have us by the __________.

The number is Wells Fargo Mortgage - they call if you are late on your payment anything after the 1st of the month, and if you only paid partial..... The number is real and it is on my mortgage papers..... so many in denial ???? lol
