2. According to the Financial Times, HSBC is one of the banks who did a gold swap with the BIS in order to pass the EU solvency requirements. Where did the get the gold? Seems anyone storing gold, with HSBC (or any other bullion bank) and paying them storage fees can have their gold swapped oout from under them (i.e. sold) if it is unallocated. Good scam - charge persons for storing their gold then sell it and give them an IOU while still charging storage fees. At least the BIS is still solvent.
3. As of 2011 it seems this phone # got changed to another company, K&B Natreaserch out of Houstn which does market research and seems so far to be OK.
PS ALWAYS get physical gold as then there is no counterparty risk.- Caller: K&B Natreaserch

- Helen MaisackI am told that this number is HSBC selling services which I don't want. They call many times during the day and night. I am on the do no call list and my message on my answering machine says "if you are a solicitor please remove my name and number from your call list". Can you please stop these people?

- George and Alice SkalaWe are receiving calls from this number on a daily basis, two and three times a day. Our payments are on time and we are doing our best to get them paid off; however, now the credit card companies are charging you as late if you send in your payment early and it posts in the month before it is due. I paid my February bills at the last of January and have fielded calls all month because of this. This is the new way the banks and credit unions have of getting your money, by adding fees, monthly charges, and uping the interest rates. Why did the government not see this coming??? I am tired of explaining to people who cannot speak english what happened. This is just not right.

- Allyn DraperCalled and left no message. It's simple, if you want to speak with me. Identify who is calling with caller ID. If I don't know you I won't answer your call. Second, leave a message. You'll have a 100% greater chance of me returning your call if you leave a message identifying yourself and the purpose of your call. No message, no return call. It's that simple. Don't irritate me more by pushing me to do an internet search of your phone number to find out who you are. If I have to go to that length, I really don't want to talk to you.
Based on the input from other posters I'll have to say this was HSBC collections- Caller: HSBC

- BrittanyThey call me non-stop! Even after I have made my payments, they still continue to call me. The people are very, very rude and start calling at 7:30 a.m. and call all the way until 10 at night. It's ridiculous!

- George| 3 repliesHi everyone i have 3 hsbc card accounts, including one with best buy, while i loved doing business with them im afraid that all three are going into collection as i have been unemployed since december and been unable to pay, i told them hsbc idiots that too, yet they still call me 30 or 40 times a day, IN fact the phone calls actually increased after i told them i was unemployed. it really pisses me off. so as such I have decided that even if i do get a job, im not gonna pay it. Ill tell them to get a damn bailout.
i have decided to never pay those accounts in retaliation for them calling me and harrassing me 30 plus times a day, when they know i am unemployed and have no money, i even told them that if it wasnt for my relatives helping me out, i would be homeless living on the streets, yet they still call 30 plus times a day.
Can they be prosecuted for that sort of thing or at least sued?
Any lawyers wanna represent me pro-bono (FREE)? cause if they can be sued id like to but i dont have the money to hire a lawfirm. Or maybe someone out there can start a class action if you do let me know cause id like to join it.- Caller: HSBC

My husband was laid off and we got behind and they are rude and mean and don't want to hear any truth. I've not answered a call from them in over a year. If you aren't behind they STILL call trying to sell crap to you. The lesson I learned is, PAY CASH!!!

- BrittanyThese people are horrible to deal with! They start calling at 8:13 every freaking morning and continue to call at least once every two hours until 9:30 at night. I just received another call and informed the person I talked to that I was at work and didn't have my checkbook with me. He told me that wasn't his problem and wanted to know when he could expect their money. They are EXTREMELY rude and unwilling to work with you. I think the worst part is that I'm only about 5 days late on my payment...

- Fed Up| 1 replySadly, I was late paying on my Carson Pirie Scott & Co. credit card (which is serviced through HSBC) and this phone number called and called and called (leaving no messages) multiple times each day. I chose not to pick up because I didn't want to hear their B.S. I knew I was late and knew I had to pay it, which I finally was able to do and, magically, the calls have stopped.
Debt collectors cannot call you before 8 a.m. and after 9 p.m.
They cannot call you at work if they know your employer disapproves.
They cannot harass you by using profane or obscene language.
They cannot threaten violence or harm.
There are a lot more rules that debt collectors have to follow. It's fairly easy to search for them on the Internet. If a debt collector isn't playing by the rules, you should report them to the FTC.- Caller: HSBC

- Fight Back replies to dead brokeHow to Eliminate Credit Card Companies
Get them to pay you!
These guys are not only eliminating credit card debt but in a rather ironic switch acutally getting the CC co's to pay the card holders. Even if you don't have credit card issues there is a way to make them pay you $$$$.
