- cancer patient replies to It's your creditNot all people who don't pay their bills are deadbeats. Some of us would love to pay their bills but circumstances don't allow. Never had a problem til I couldn't work and had no income.
- amy replies to Some bad news for you...| 1 replyAnyone attempting to collect a debt must follow fdcpa
- FusilierI have no credit card debts, that I know of; I don't even use my cc. The number calls once/week, leaves no message.
- ryanSo I got a call from Mr. Grace telling me he needs me to give him a call or have my attorney give him a call. So I give him a call and I talk to some other guy at first and he asks for my name and I say who are you (forgot his name) but following that I say I received a call from this number and I was told that I will need a lawyer and he then says oh ya and says my name. And says I need to transfer you to mr. Grace I guess and he asks who I am and I said my name and asked why I needed a lawyer and he tells me and gives me two choices you can take care of it on your own or bring it to court. So naturally I chose handle my own business. Then he tells me I can't do that And loads of other incriminating business tactics. Well if what is stated at the begining of the call is true there should be a recording of me when I stated that I chose to handle it myself his 1st option given.here is an EXAMPLE :So how exactly does he know it's me? I never stated my name to the first guy I talked to but he said my name.I talked to the second guy and I could have just said the name the first guy did and the fact he started naming off personal information to a person he know was the right person. I have had friends get calls from places like this and they really do try and scam you. Do not give them any of your hard earned money. Peace out!

- KimI've been getting calls, but it shows up on my caller ID as a Russian phone # so I would never answer, and there's never been a voicemail. Today they left a message, looking for "Betty", said her name was Ms Levitt with Community Bank. She left this number (800-695-7444) as callback, and now looking back through my missed calls a number similar has also been calling. The one that shows up as Russia is +72054563693. There's also a number 720-456-3690.
Anyway, not for me, I'm not Betty. They can quit calling. - Wm X. Wilson IIII received a phone call immediately after conducting business with Comenity Bank ( this bank gives credit cards to those shop at Lane Bryant ). It was about 15 min to 11 AM when they called me on my cellphone and asked if my wife ( by her first and last name ) was here, then asked to speak to her or her attorney. I asked who is calling and she rattled off her name so fast that I could not make out what she was saying. Then I asked what organization she was affiliated with and once again her reply was not understood. Asked this lady why she needed to speak with my wife and was told that it was personal. When I attempted to ask another question we were disconnected. The first thing I did was to call Comenity Bank and asked if they knew the company that was associated with the number. They had no department that had that number, I then told her what had transpired before calling the bank again, she let me know that the info was being sent to her supervisor immediately.
- Caller: Don't know, she mumbled to fast to make out what she said
- robyn mannonThey don't say much, but that I should have my attorney get back to them, or something could affect my life
- JB replies to Joe Doe (Undercover FBI agent)Did you ever shut them down? They (with this number 1-800-695-7444) have been trying to run a scam on my wife - almost succeeded until we caught on when they changed the figure "owed" three times in the same phone call in an effort to get my wife's credit card.
- DANHarrassing phone calls from "anthony" claiming an important matter. I dont have an account with community bank.........
- Caller: COMMUNITY BANK
- LaurieThey keep calling wanting another person so today I called and told Jeremy that the person they are trying to contact is not at this number and I do not know a person by this name and to please take my number off their list. Did not give him my name just gave him my number. So hopefully this will work, if not then every time they call me I'll call them and give tell them to take it off until I get a snotty person then I'll give their number to an attorney friend and have him call! This is the second unknown person I have been getting collection calls for! First one had same last name and when I started looking this person up some how he had gotten associated with our family! It took a while but got that fixed so I don't get calls for that person anymore! So far this new person is not showing as associated to me.

- RlynnlynnThis company called and left two voicemails back to back...I didn't answer because it came in with no caller id. The rep "Specialist McBride" left this number and his extension #1226049 and said "The bank submitted this to his office for review. And suggested that me or my attorney call him. Without a return call, it will prompt him to make a decision that will directly affect me."

- JI posted about a year and a half ago (January 2014) about these guys, and just wanted to follow up that the calls stopped - I'd sent a letter to my state Attorney General and made online reports with both the FBI and the FDCPA government websites. None of these places replied back but the company did stop calling, so someone must have contacted them. As mentioned, I'm pretty sure this collection agency is "in-house" at Comenity/WFNNB -- that means they aren't technically a collection agency, they are classified as employees of Comenity, and therefore don't have to follow the rules of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. The best you can apparently hope for is to get them to stop calling you.

- Kendra| 2 repliesI've been getting calls from this number as well and I do have a debt with Maurices so that is probably legit. But for people who say they are "threatening" you, they are calling from a script, and the script is worded just right so that if it was taken to court it would be upheld.
For example it seems like everyone has had them say something along the lines of "if you don't return our call by ___ we will have to make a decision on your account." no court would say it is a threat because it's too vague. You can make lots of decisions about an account that aren't related to the balance owed
Yeah, not answering them might work for a while but then they start to branch out. They start calling family and friends and that is embarrassing.- Caller: World financial

- Claudia replies to amandacCall the company directly, not these collection agencies. There are so many scams, that its best to contact the original creditor and ask if they already sent it to a collection agency and ask which by name and phone number. They will definitely work with you, but like 99% of these are companies that get information and try and scare people into paying a debt that may not n ecessarily be real. I'd suggest pulling your credit report, and seeing the names and companies of where you owe, call those numbers and start from there. Good luck!
- tayA Debt collector called fo someone else at 11:29 am & 12:95 pm on Sept 28. I hope they should know by now if you hear my voicemail I'm not a male. Calling during hours I'm at school (horrible)
