a miss snyder has been calling leaving messages saying me or my attorney need to call back

first of all Joe it is not a matter of rather or not you pay your bills. they should not be calling representing themselves as an agent of the law.  that is a scam. and 2nd you have no idea what a persons situation is & what may ahve gotten them to a point where they fell behind on their bills.

These guys are shady dealers and scammers and if you get a call from them file a 1088 Complaint with the FCC at https://esupport.fcc.gov/form1088/consumer.do and if you are on the National Do Not Call List, file a Complaint at https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx.

If the government gets enough complaints from you, we can put these guys out of business.

1st of all get your facts straight.  The 800 number you are talking about is World Financial Network National Bank.  They are a Bank that finances more that 80 store credit cards.  Where you got Redline Recovery, I have no idea... must be that imaginary world you live in I guess.

 2nd of all if you would pay your bills, you wouldn't have Bill Collectors calling you!  If you would put half of the energy that you are putting into posting on this website and put it into doing the responsible thing by getting a job then maybe you could pay your bills!

 3rd fact is that WFNNB is a legit company that gave you an opportunity of obtaining an unsecured line of credit that you ABUSED!  Either by making purchases that you never paid for, or paid for late, and possibly assessed late fees/interest and then throwing a fit because you thought it was layaway and not a legally binding contract "credit card terms of agreement" that you signed for, and agreed too by signing the application and credit card receipt at initial purchase.

How is the debt not owed if you made the purchses?

I received two robocalls from "World Financial Network National Bank", asking me to call the number "regarding a personal matter; this is not a sales call".  Upon receipt of 2nd call I made the call to complain, got a voicemail system that didn't pick up.  I have no debts, keep track of my credit and have had the unlisted residential phone number that they called on the Do Not Call registry for nearly a year.

It's called debt validation.

Why would you just assume that this person is someone who doesn't pay bills on time. Scams happen all the time, as do real mistakes. I have great credit and have worked very hard to keep it that way. I never pay a bill late, and I am currently fighting with Redline Recovery over a bill from 2004 that was completely paid off. (that's how I found this article) They have been extremely rude, including being hung up on after I told an agent she was being unprofessional by carrying on with a conversation in the background with her friend about their lunch while I was speaking to her. She told me 'then talk to someone else.' and hung up. All I am saying is you don't have to be some deadbeat to have a collection agency calling you. Also, why post on here just to be hateful to someone when they are trying to get information about this subject. I am trying to search to see if I am involved in a scam too.

And to who posted this: Go to www.ftc.com and click on 'debt collections' to find out what is and is not legal for debt collectors (fair debt collections act. Here is a part that may help:

§ 809. Validation of debts

(a) Within five days after the initial communication with a consumer in connection with the collection of any debt, a debt collector shall, unless the following information is contained in the initial communication or the consumer has paid the debt, send the consumer a written notice containing—
(1) the amount of the debt;
(2) the name of the creditor to whom the debt is owed;
(3) a statement that unless the consumer, within thirty days after receipt of the notice, disputes the validity of the debt, or any portion thereof, the debt will be assumed to be valid by the debt collector;
(4) a statement that if the consumer notifies the debt collector
in writing within the thirty-day period that the debt, or any portion thereof, is disputed, the debt collector
will obtain verification of the debt or a copy of a judgment against the consumer and a copy of such verification or judgment will be mailed to the consumer by the debt collector; and
(5) a statement that, upon the consumer’s written request within the thirty-day period, the debt collector will provide the consumer with the name and address of the original creditor, if different from the current creditor.

I would also find their website and verify it is who you are calling. It could easily be a scam that is using a well known business name to intimidate you into paying. And definitely do a credit check, just to make sure that you have not been the victim of identity theft. Hope that helps. If you think you are being abused or scammed by that company your state attorney general is a good place to start for information.

It's World Financial Network I just got the call yesterday.

My old roommate is in collection for many things. He moved out a year ago and there is still a constant number of calls asking for him after ive told them many times he no longer lives here. so today i answer a private number call from "Agent Strausser." When i asked where she was calling from, she just said "Agent Strausser" again. So just FYI these people call acting as is theyre some government agency and your in big trouble. they asked me if he had a lawyer and just everything they say is to inflict fear in who eve the debt holder is. just hang up on them if you get a private number on your caller id and they say theyre agents.

This is scam....protray themselves as "Agent Blair" and want to know if you have attorney. They are fishing for personal information.

Why would bank collection personal call themselves "Agent Blair" and immediately ask who your attorney is?

Would not give information about bank except to say bank was in Columbus OH and that Agent Blair was in Columbus as well.

We had a call from these idots and on the message today the guy said he was agent arnet and that either we call or our attorney... Well if they call again our attorney will call them...
They have called several times and left messages for someone that does not live here never has and we bought the house 5 years ago brand new... Anyway I picked up one morning about 6:15am and told them if they called here again I would get them for harrasment or call my attorney and the A______ on the other end said well what and I hung up so today the agent called trying to threaten, scare us but it isn't going to work...
I will complain about this to the right people and if they call again I will fill charges for wrongful misconduct... And for you idot out there that thanks these calls are for only those that owe money you are nuts...

Agent Nichols asked for Lori. My wife's name is Lori, I said she was not home.  Caller stated it was a personal matter.  Would not say what company he was with nor the reason for the call.  Knowing there was another Lori at this number TEN YEARS AGO, I decided to call back to find out the last name of who he was trying to find.  Ended up being the Lori who had our phone number 10 years earlier.

Information below is correct.

World Financial Bank. They're calling about charge offs for credit cards. It is 100% legit, people need to calm down. They cannot release who they are until you verify who you are. The reason for this is: relaying personal financial information over the phone to someone other than the person whose information it is, is illegal.

Yup, they want you to think they're a bank sometimes, other times they want you to think they're a law enforcement agency. When in fact they are a bunch of low life bottom feeding scummy scofflaws playing at being bill collectors.

if you get one of these clowns, you should simply report them to your state attorney general. Like PS says, though, you might choose to do it calmly.
