- Chevy replies to Why Can't I ask what's the issue about| 2 repliesWhat honestly makes you think you have a right to know about your mothers personal affairs? You say that she doesn't owe money, yet companies are calling her saying she does, did it ever occur to you that maybe the reason why you don't know she owes money, is because she does not want you too? If in fact your mother did need your help (with translations or whatever) then have her call the companies she deals with and add your name to the accounts, in most cases that will help... otherwise grow up, your 21 years old but yet you're acting like a 12 year old that wants to know everything about "mommy and daddy"'s business.
- Ford replies to ChevySounds like a son that's concerned about his Mother's welfare to me. I can't see anything wrong with that.
- Cardholder in CobdenMy g/f's had two calls now from this number - she has a Sears Card. Yes, it is rather annoying to get these calls from Chase (the financial institution that issues and manages Sears Card accounts), but it's not Sears to blame for these calls - it's Chase and only Chase. God, I hate it when people blame the retailer for a problem caused by a third party, such as an item's manufacturer or a credit card's issuing bank...

- Stephanie replies to Mike| 2 repliesThis number has been calling me 6-10 times a day for 2 weeks. I've answered it a few times, but there is just dead silence... and I refuse to stay on the line because I'm on a pay as you go phone, and don't want to waste precious minutes talking to a spam caller. I don't have a Sears card, or any Chase products, so to me this should be illegal.
- abc123I owed them a small amount of money. They called 16 times in 72hrs!! Someone there must have crush on me or something, because that is aggressive...relentless cowards.
- WARNING800-799-4424
I have received a multitude of these calls daily......claiming to be CHASE....requesting to speak to my husband re: his CHASE acct. The only CHASE acct my husband has is shared with me, yet the callers refuse to discuss with me because they say my name is not on that account. After much research, I find out that this is actually for a SEARS account. EVEN when I specifically asked the callers if it was for another acct managed by Chase, they deny it. FRAUD, MISREPRESENTATION, UNPROFESSIONAL...HOW DO THEY CONTINUE TO GET AWAY WITH THIS?!?!- Caller: SEARS
- Just another annoyed customerWow I was really surprised to get a call from them. Our last statement we owed about $45 with $20 overdue (2 months). It was an oversight on my part and I was intending to pay off the balance anyway. After all, there is a note on the bottom of the bill stating to the effect of "it may be an oversight, if you pay the bill please disregard, etc) Within two days of receiving the bill we get a call from Chase. Now don't you usually get a seperate warning letter from Sears that if you don't pay within a time frame, it will be turned over to a collection agency? It seems they have skipped this part. We are cancelling the card once it's paid off. They are not worth it as they are still calling now that it's paid off!

- ZinaA woman called and asked for my husband. She said she is from "Chase" and she wants to speak to my husband in private. She was very rude, she misspelled my husband's first and last name totally, but was demanding to give her correct name and address, saying she wants to send some mail. She was absolutely rude that i hang up on her. All the calls were made by the same person. I recognized her voice and manners. She called again and demanded my husband's correct first , middle and last name. When i refused, she opened a very agressive argument.I said i would complain about her bahaviour. She called 3 times and the calls are very disturbing. We never had any affairs with that company. I think its illigal to call to peoples homes and demand their private information such as names and adresses. Please remove our number from the list. Thank you.

- Jero| 2 repliesI work for Citi in their credit card subsidiary (CitiCards Canada), in the Customer Service department (not collections).
I have a few words to say on this topic myself to both the "self righteous" collectors posting "PAY YOUR BILLS!" and the so-called "deadbeats" saying "CHASE IS A BUNCH OF HARASSING IDIOTS!"
To the collectors: If you actually work for Chase, take this back to your manager. When you call someone, leave a message. DO NOT call 10+ times _DAILY_. That's how it's done at Citi. "Hi, my name is such-and-such calling from CitiCards Canada. This is an important message for so-and-so. Please call us back as soon as possible at insert-number-here." Even if you do that once daily, it is much better than calling many times, and you're likely to get a better contact success rate as you're identifying yourselves and giving the customer a chance to call you back if they somehow manage to miss the multitude of calls you made, instead of harassing them with said numerous contact attempts.
To the un-paying: I know that you may fall on hard times, and I know Chase does not provide the friendliest of service, but as has been mentioned before, you have signed a contract. Fine print or not, it is your responsibility to read, or at very least understand, what it is you're getting yourself into. If you've signed up for the card solely for a discount then DESTROY THE CARD. Do not use it again until you understand every other facet of the terms and conditions of the use of that card. Some of the T&Cs can get messy, and it is done on purpose. Finance companies prey on people's ignorance, and it is deplorable, but you needn't give them more opportunity to do so. Educate yourself a little bit about it. Talk to them. Find out what's going on. Or at least talk to the collections team (which is this number, it's Chase's INTERNAL collections agency) to try and iron out some payment options. Escalate. That is the key. Front line reps (myself included) can barely do anything outside of our set responsibilities. Supervisors have more ability and freedom to ad-lib, so to speak. Or do a proposal or bankruptcy, but know that it will damage your credit more so than working out a payment plan with the creditor.
To the "Deserving": Family member or not, you are not, I repeat *NOT*, entitled to know the personal information of someone else. That is due to the privacy laws and it is largely to protect yourselves and those you care about. How easy is it to say "I'm so-and-so's husband for Christ's sake, how come you can't tell me? I know their name, address, date of birth, phone number, I have it all!" One of my supervisors had a caller like that before, and do you know the answer she gave him? "Well, I'm the Queen of England, do you believe me? No, so that's why I can't tell you anything unless you're named on the account." No offense, but if the person signing up for credit is not very proficient in the language, be it English, French or what have you, they should not be applying without someone else. They need to understand what it is, and if ever they need something from the call centre, either they have an issue or the call centre needs them, they will have someone there to help. Because otherwise it sounds like you're trying to commit fraud, and believe it or not the company is trying to stop that. They lose with fraud just as much as the customer loses, if not more so as they face monetary losses as well as hits to their reputation if it is an error they commit.
What it all boils down to is this: Collectors have a job to do, and they do it. Yes they're commissioned. That does not entitle them to be rude.
Clients have a job to do, and they don't always do it. You need to make your minimum payments, or at least try to pay the debt you borrowed.
I'll let you all marinate on that for a bit.
Cheers,

- DisgruntledYes indeed these bandits have striken. They keep phoning but never ever say anything, I repeatedly say hello, after about 15 seconds they hang up. If it is Sears, I am going to sue their nutz off and boycott thier stores. If they have stooped to these tactics, things must be pretty desperate for them. It smells like a matter of time till they fold. Justice will prevail.

- JasonThis number is for Sears - they say they are J.P. Morgan Chase - all the same now I guess. The call showed up as "Toll Free Call" They called here earliery today and were extremely rude to my wife because she said I was not at home. Hey people, guess what, when I'm working, I'm not at home. If you want to get paid, then it's probably a good idea that I work... Is that really difficult to get into your heads?
Yes, I know, I owe you $43 dollars. I will pay it soon... so lady, quit trippin' when you call here. Screaming and yelling doesn't get you your money any faster. In fact, I keep all the creditors names in a hat and every once in a while I pay one. Keep calling and being rude and I'll take your name out of the hat. Oh, and just so you know, my credit is tanked, so there is really no urgency on my part to pay you miserable people...- Caller: Sears Canada

- DougThis Number: 1-800-799-4424 is Chase Banking who owns credit cards used by Sears Canada.
Do not use Sears Credit card and do not deal with Chase.
Chase Banking has been belligerent & harassing us for over a week. Claiming we have not paid our Sears bill. They claim to have invoiced us on the same Saturday as we made our purchase and thus are past due. These people are the most arogant scum and the most stupid on the face of the earth. Who pays let alone gets a credit card bill before they leave the store and pays for the product before getting it.
Even the Manager of the Sears store hung up on them because they were arogant & belligerent to him.- Caller: Chase Bank for Sears Canada

- Former Collector| 1 replyTo all the people who are getting calls, just talk to them and Figure out why they are calling, if you missed a month and proceed to pay every bill a month late, that shows you are a repeat offender hence why they call
And for people who get pissed that they can't leave a message, It's the law. Privacy laws protect the consumer, if an agent breaks that law they can be charged for $100, 000, not up to. Exactly $100, 000. So would you put yourself at risk of being charged that amount?
and stop blaming them, if you know it's sears calls sears and find out whats what. I have no sympathy for someone who doesn't take the 5 minutes to call Sears and find out whats wrong. - Me replies to Former CollectorFormer Collector.. Your not to brite are you!
Now get a real job and stop hounding hard working pleople looser! - AnnoyedThe number keeps calling our house for someone who doesn't even live here. It's absolutely ridiculous, they call 3 or 4 times within an hour and call about 20 times a day. It's complete stupidity, because the person they're asking for doesn't exist as far as I know, and when I tell them they've got the wrong number they assume I'm lying and continue to call. I've complained to Sears about this and they can't do anything to fix it.
