- ShillHammer replies to RobAnything you say, shill!
- Fraud Hammer replies to AmexCardHolderAnything you say, chump! Problem is, nobody here believes your BS! Time to get a new Magic Jack, clown!!
- Mike| 1 replyAMEX fraud line.
It's legit, they block an online transaction that didn't fit my profile and a few mins later the phone was ringing. As far as I know the it's mostly automated. Actually knew the info for the charges they just block. They tell you to use the number on the back of the card for a human, but banging on "0" will get you an operator (that India accent doesn't fool anybody "Jean" -lol ). Sure enough seconds after I hung up the transaction went through.- Caller: Amex
- It Ain't AMEX Folks! replies to MikeIt's a fraud folks - confirmed it with AMEX myself!!
The above is yet another post from the shill for the fraud.
Repeat - this is not AMEX, it's a credit card phishing fraud. - HammerDown replies to JosephSave the B.S. clown - nobody here believes any of it.
This fraud has been BUSTED!! - MyselfI don't have an American Express Card. So I was really interested when I got a call from this number. I call ed and gave them the phone number they called me on. They asked for my name. I asked what name they had listed with the number... they did not have one. So I did not give them one. I think it was a fishing call to get names and numbers to sell. SCAM>
But again, I've never been and American Express custumer, so maybe this is show the roll at that company. - Mokee| 1 replyI just rcvd a call from this number (800)824-9289 reporting suspicious charges and asking information. I called AM EX directly ( # on back of my card) to confirm this was a legit call. Before I could even ask them about the call, they asked me about the very same suspicious activity. It IS a legitimate number/call!
- Caller: Am Express (800) 824-9289
- anonymousDo NOT answer the phone from (800) 824-9289. It is fraud, it's a phishing scam to get your information to be used possibly for identify theft. I contacted the real AMEX, and they told me this is a phishing scam and to NOT answer the phone from that phone number or call it back.
To report AMEX fraud ID theft, call (800) 297-7672. Also, if you got this message as voicemail and can forward the audio recording of the message to them from your e-mail, e-mail it to:
Anti.Phishing.Team@aexp.com
FYI, I don't have an AMEX card and never had one. So there was no reason for them to be calling me. ALso, when you talk with the AMEX fraud ID theft they can do a search to see if someone has applied for an AMEX or is using one with your SSN.
When in doubt of any information, go to the source.- Caller: Claiming to be AMEX
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Teatime| 1 replyWhether the voice mail number is a fraud or not doesn't really matter. The important thing is to check with AMEX by using the secure number on the back of your card. I received a voice mail message today. I went on line and check my account. Sure enough there were six charges in a row from a company called Speck Services. All the charges were around $ 50.00. I used the number on the back of my card like you should. I spoke with a woman with an Indian accent. She asked me about the charges and cancelled my card. I have a new card on the way. If you get the call just use the number on the back of your card.
- Caller: AMEX
- FRAUD ALERTIt's a PHISHING FRAUD. After getting numerous bogus emails and calls from this number about a non-existent credit card, I called American Express and they informed me that this number is BOGUS and is part of an ongoing FRAUD that they are aware of it.
- Caller: Fishing Fraud - Not AMEX

- ITS A TARPTHIS IS A SCAM. I got a call from this number saying there were suspicious charges on my American Express card...I don't have an American Express card, I don't have any credit cards at all. I thought it was strange so I went to the American Express website and called their REAL customer service #. The man confirmed that I had no account with them.
DON'T FALL FOR THE SCAMMERS! - Real AmEx numberThis is their real CS number 1-800-528-4800, not that other BS number
- Caller: Fake AmEx
- Call type: Prank
- muzhikGot this email after not answering their call... (i did order something from these guys, so it's legit trans)

- Just Thinkin' replies to TonyI received an email about a suspicious charge to our account. Had this number to call. Wary, I called the number on the back of our AMEX card. Turns out it's a legit phone number and email. One of our employees' cards was indeed compromised.
AMEX won't authorize the payment and they're overnighting a new card. Great company. I don't know why they thought the charge might be suspicious but it saved us!
Call them back if you get the message, but I'd probably use the number on the back of your card (still paranoid). You can always provide the case number. - Mary replies to Really?| 4 repliesIt's not FEDEX it's American EXpress and it's a legitimate number. Uh, that means real.
