I picked up the call said that it was Verizon and that I needed to verify my number because it is suspended I have had my number for over 15 years it repeated this twice press one to verify two to speak to someone then hung up I’m sure that this is a huge scam and it didn’t come up as Verizon but as unknown

Calls a lot and uses both #800 and #804 numbers. Both are Verizon. If you call #804-265-8732, it never answers. If you call #800-837-4966, you get Verizon Customer Service, but will never get to a human. Either Verizon is at its old tricks of aggravating people or someone is spoofing Verizon's numbers. Either way, it is a scam!!

Received call on my cell from this number.  Automated message said they were calling from Verizon and there was suspicious activity on one of my lines.  I had to call an 800 number to keep that line from being suspended.  Sounded like a scam to me, so I called the Verizon Wireless support number from their website.  The rep said that they've had increased scam calls this month, that spoof their number.  He said that the call originated from a computer and they had already masked their IP address.  Verizon rep asked some questions about the call and said if I received any more, to do exactly what I did this time = hang up and call them directly - NOT the number scammer provided.

This number called 3 times Today without leaving any message, if it was actually from Verizon the representative would have left one instead of calling multiple times.

It's really a Verizon number but it's being spoofed by scam artist trying to get your SS# and information. Unless you really did call Verizon about a service issue; DON'T FALL FOR IT !!!

Called my cell last evening. Suspected a scam. Verizon has no business on my cell (dumped them for Consumer Cellular). All contact for FiOS is through my landline.

Can't help but wonder if enough corporations get blocked if the government wouldn't start forcing telecoms to actually do something.

I have received about 30 calls/voicemails from this number in 2 hours. I received 4 before going to lunch for my birthday. The first ones called ID said Comcast and when I answered it said that they were preparing to shut off my internet... same thing every other call except the CID says Verizon. These calls are all scams or [***]. I hit 1 to speak to someone and requested to be removed because it’s [***] and I don’t and never have had Verizon! The next time I hit 1 and asked for a higher up I was hung up on. Try coming home to 24 new voicemails right after losing your grandmother and the only other time you’ve had that many voicemails. Thanks for making me relive that moment. For this reason alone I will NEVER use Verizon.

Scammers pretending to be Verizon.  The number is spoofed.  The first call you get is from the scammers.  When you call back, you get real Verizon.  The first thing the system wanted was my SSN.  Sure, buddy.  I was just about to fall for that!
