    ????
Just got a call from them, for someone who used to have my unlisted home phone number. Must be a zombie debt anyway, as I have had this number for 3 years. Told them this was no longer so-and-so's number, said they would remove me. We'll see.

These losers just called me at 8:01am on MEMORIAL DAY.  Shameful!  I have no knowledge of the so-called 'debt' they asked about, believe it is a line of crap as they wanted my banking info 'so we can clear this up today'.  BS

Yet again this number calls... & yet again an automated space alien sounding robot talks ...

Until this company gathers enough funds to hire real people to talk to the people they're harassing by continuously calling @ odd hours of the day & night for no good reason, then they need to stop calling --

It's bad enough hearing real people harass you -- but in no way am I about to listen to E.T. also.

I just sent a nasty email to this place. My husband just got a new cell phone number and they are calling for someone else. I told them that my lawyer will be contacting them if they don't quit, I hope your letter helps your mom.

"You say they block their number. How did you get to this page then."

I think blkcatmail meant that they block their name (I got "Not Provided" when they called me just a few minutes ago, and I came here through Google, looking up the number).
When they call, if you pick up, do what Dee Dee says, BUT tell them that they need to only contact you in writing (there are some protections for companies that are just told to stop calling, without having other ways to communicate).
It's a very good idea to send a letter (by certified mail, with receipt requested) stating that you want them to only contact you in writing - and, no, email doesn't count.
THEN, once you have proof that they've received the letter, if they continue to call, they are in violation of the FDCPA; and you can go ahead and report them to their State Attorney General's Office. If you don't send the letter, they can always claim that you never told them to stop calling. Any judge might be inclined not to believe them, but you'd have no proof to say they were lying, so they could still get away with it.

BTW - if anyone is thinking of recording their phone calls with Penn Credit, Pennsylvania requires all parties in the conversation know that a recording is being made, UNLESS a party does something illegal in that conversation. So, go ahead and record, but keep in mind that you probably won't be able to use that recording(s) unless they commit an illegal act while you're talking.

Months ago this company wouldn't leave me alone (I couldn't remember their number off-hand when they called me tonight, which is why I'm here now). I spoke to her once. Ms. Jones is evil as far as I'm concerned. She tried to treat me like dirt. People like her need to be locked up, or blocked from working ever again by a judge.
I was actually recording phone calls from this company then, but unfortunately I forgot to hit the record button while I was talking to her. Of course, that would be the same phone call where I know she broke the law several times while treating me like garbage. It's always when you forget to do something-never when you actually remember. If I'd gotten it on tape, I could have gone to an attorney and filed claims against the company.
She finally got her supervisor after I don't remember how many times I asked for him. He wasn't much help at all, but at least he didn't have an attitude.

I received a call from them and I know I don't have an account with them.  I may have debts, but I don't like to be harassed.  Plus they left an automated message.

I received a number of calls from this number and finally got to the phone to answer one. It was an automated caller, informing me that I had an important message and needed to press "1" to hear it in English or "2" to hear it in Spanish. I figure anyone who knows who I am enough to have an important message for me would know both my name and the language I speak, so I googled the calling number to learn that it is some credit colection agency by the name of Penn Credit. Unless I've inadvertantly fallen asleep for the last 20 years, I am early in paying all my bills. There is no legitimate reason for anyone with whom I do business to contact me through a credit collector. Moreover, the automated message I received did not bother to identify the caller/company that was calling, making the call a blind one. I have had other calls similar and have been advised it is due to previous owners of my cell phone number being "deadbeats". If they are, I've now had this number for nearly a year and resent a call that I can't even object to the caller about. If someone has a legitimate problem with me or my credit practices (which I think I mentioned are above reproach), they can send me a letter through the US Postal Service so I know who they are, what their business is, and don't have to waste my valuable time and effort researching those details and correcting their slovenly, pathetic, antiquated information on just how long ago some deadbeat had my phone number. If idiotic people didn't hand out credit to just everyone in the first place, then maybe I'd be able to live peacefully not being harassed by insipid deadbeat hunters.

Always get everything in writing.  Discussing business over the phone is never a good idea.  In writing you have a record of all transaction and it doesn't turn into a "he said, she said" problem later on down the road.

Today is Friday, June 18, 2010.  I have gotten several calls on my cell from phone 800 900 1380.  The times of the calls are:  6:34pm, 6:24pm, 6:13pm, 6:03pm, 5:53pm, 5:42pm.  I have NO idea why they are calling me.  Everytime I answer, nobody is there.  It is really strange.  I spent about 15 minutes doing some research, this is what I found:

Penn Credit Corporation, they try to hide there actual address by posting a Post Office address on there website.  I did some more digging, and found some other information on this company:

I posted a little while ago about how much they called me tonight.  I decided to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.  I provided them with all the information.  I doubt they will do anything for just one complaint.  I hope ALL of you file one.  This is what it said after I filed:

    "We have received your complaint.

Thank you for contacting the FTC.  You complaint has been entered into Consumer Sentinel, a secure online database available to thousands of civil and criminal law enforcement agencies worldwide.  Your reference number is:  26788666"

    Fed Up
I have been getting phone calls from 1-800-900-1380 for months now. I have told them on MANY occassions that the person they are calling is NOT at my number.  I have had my phone number for over 5 years now and NONE of the people they ask for has ever been at my number.  I have cancer and their phone calls are very unpleasant. The company is a debt collecting company and I am fed up with them calling me. How can I stop their calls?

Find a good attorney and sue them for harassment.  Trust me...you'll not only get them to stop calling you, they'll have to pay the attorney fees and you may have recover monies.

They called me last week, computer left a message to press 1 to talk to someone, kind of hard to do that when it's a voicemail.

Anyway, I'm waiting for the next call to come thru, and then I'm turning them over to the attorney.
