- collector replies to Dee Dee| 10 repliesI am a collection agent and have been on the receiving end of collection calls so I'm not judging anyone, I understand times get hard but as far as the Fair Credit Reporting Act, that has nothing to do with demanding that someone stop calling you. If you are going to give advise to people about how to handle their debt or people calling about debt at least reference back to the correct guidelines which would be the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act or FDCPA. And you do have the right to request that someone stop calling you, but you do have to follow any verbal request to cease calls in writing within 10 days of the verbal request and I would suggest mailing with return receipt requested. AND FOR ANYONE THAT WANTS TO SAY I WORK FOR THE COMPANY CALLING, I DON'T AND NEVER HAVE. I WORK IN A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STATE FOR A TOTALLY UNRELATED COMPANY BUT 800-900-1380 CALLED OUR OFFICE NUMBER LOOKING FOR SOMEONE THAT APPARENTLY USE TO HAVE THIS NUMBER. Don't get rude with someone from a collection agency calling if it's a wrong number, it's not our fault, we were given the number by the person we are trying to contact and chances are if one agency was given the wrong number, several agencies were so don't assume that just because you tell an agency that the number no longer belongs to John Doe that every other agency should automatically know.
- Lynda| 1 replyRec'd 6 phone calls in less than 30 minutes. Came to this web site as I always do & read the complaints. Since I don't answer 800 numbers I blocked it. Hope this works. What kind of business is this? Off to do some more web searching & sending a complaint to the Attorney General of the state where the business is located.

- LyndaSo I will post back to back. Went to the Penn Credit web site & found this number is their collections department. Regardless of the fancy web site they are scavenger debt collectors. Unfortunately for me my ex-daughter-in-law used us as referrences many years ago & this is our reward. Their mailing address is 916 So. 14th St., Harrisburg PA 17104 & their main phone number is 800-800-3328. I intend on writing a complaint to the AG of PA. 6 phone calls in less then 30 minutes is harrassment.

- Don'tCallMeGot a call from this number on a SUNDAY at 6:06 pm. I am on the Do Not Call List but am still being harassed by this number. I am told that the only way to combat this type of harassment is to change my phone number and have it marked as unlisted. This I will do tomorrow, but am still going to send an email to Penn Credit, the owner of that phone number - and thank you, Dee Dee, for your cease and desist form posted on 12 Dec 2008 which will be the content of that email.

- Tim SmithAlways ID's as a "Toll Free Call", isn't that exciting. They ask for a person who has never lived here. Requested removal and of course, did not get taken off their list. Now without using any profanity, I ask the most embarrassing questions to the caller that I can think of.

- Dan PrayRecieved a 800-900 call today Dec 8, 2010 for my deceased mother. These theives will stop at nothing!!!
- NomrE replies to wiz kidwiz kid, yes it is possible to get something you have never ordered. I got a credit card statement for $99.89 for a publication I looked at from e-mail. I did not order anything, just read their article. I called the credit card company and contested the bill. Got a letter back form the credit company some weeks latter saying the charge had been removed.
- NormE replies to Coni Dee| 2 repliesToo all and especially PENN CREDIT CORP. I do not owe money to anyone but keep getting calls for a person with my 'last name'. No longer answer the phone. They 'pcc' are a pest to me.
- anonymous replies to wiz kidMany moons ago, X sent me a book that I did not order with an invoice. I called and yelled at them, they said they'd gotten my name from Business Week magazine (that I had a subscription to then) as a sales lead and arranged return shipment directly from my home after I told them I was keeping it (the law says unsolicited shipments are free gifts) if I had to lift a finger or pay a penny to return it. And the book seller was a legit business. 800notes is rife with complaints of scammers offering freebies to businesses like a dozen pens to try, ship like a 100 dozen of them followed by an invoice and claim the business had ordered them. You need to get out of your whiz cage and live in the real world for a change.
- GregoI received an automated call looking for someone who used to live in the apartment upstairs from me (the mailing address is the same). The automated options do not give "You have the wrong number" as an option so I selected "She is not here." Now I just hang up. I'll see if it gets to the point of being really annoying.
- old ladyGot home and found a whole bunch of messages on my answering machine (The 1st at noon then last at 8:59), with the same message "press 1 for english" in Spanish"press 2 for Spanish", then "I did not understand your responce" same recording again. Then hung up. I checked and tryed to call the number, nothing. Sure don't like this. Too old to bother with this kind of nonsense.

- Tif| 1 replyI get these calls all the time. I finally called the 800 # and then it told me I owe $22 from Publishers Clearing House (Or whatever the name of that is)....and I have never done anything like that. I earn my money the hard way not trying to win it lol. PCH doesn't just give out there money to winners (it's other peoples I bet.)
- Caller: Penn Credit Corp.
- Call type: Debt collector
- Tif replies to TifAnd the lady talking to me (when I called it back) didnt even give me a name. She sounded like she was not wanting to be at 'work'...lol. And was very rude. Sorry I'm not paying these people a dime of my money.
