Scam Verizon Call. Constantly dials my number with claim I have credit to account. I check my account and know exactly what I have/don't have with Verizon. blocked number now.

I keep getting calls from 651-319-9156 or 651-319-9342 (5 times a day).  They claim to be Verizon Wireless and they're looking for Jessica Davis.   If I sit through the whole message and finally someone answered the phone.  I wouldn't give her any info and said I knew this was a scam and to stop calling me.  She said that I needed to call 800-922-0204 to ask them to stop calling.  But clearly this number is also a scam...

You have posted this information, on the wrong number.  This section of the blog is reporting on 800-922-0204.  Enter your unknown number and add comments, in the appropriate place.  And, know that this is a blog and can only serve as a reporting tool, rant offload, etc.  You will not be "helped" other than to derive information.  Go to the Government and hope for the best.  I never hold my breath, there.

Some strange complaints, here, and it makes me wonder.  I have had very recent business with Verizon Wireless.  I just received a call, from this number on my cell phone and answered it, knowing that it was the Verizon Customer Service number (do a search, on the Verizon Wireless site, you'll find this number).  Other than a brief sound, which resembled call center noise, there was nothing; I was cut off.  That's when I came here.  I will investigate with Verizon, but I'm amazed by the descriptions of these complaints.  It would seem that someone is either intercepting the fact that there have been recent customer service experiences and taking advantage of them, or there are a lot of people jumping to false conclusions, regarding this number.  I plan to investigate.  In the meantime, I have blocked the number, since the business I needed to transact with Verizon is concluded.

Lisa, see my comment.  It is not a scam, but a legitimate Verizon Customer Service number.  I know because I just recently used it and, believe me, I'm not gullible.  Check out the Verizon Wireless website, for confirmation.

received a call from someone who spoke broken English and said it was verizon and I would get a $20 credit on my bill if I answered a 3 question survey about my service.  I said no thanks and hung up.  Puh-lease.

Do Not Call is obsolete. Most calls are generated overseas using software/apps that make whatever number they want display on your caller ID. Most likely they are calling to see if the number is answered by a person (not a machine) so they can sell your number. Never call the number back. A recent one we received showed Verizon Tech support on the Caller ID. The number even displayed as (800) 922-0204, which is the number for Verizon. However, that is not who was calling. Unfortunately one family member answered the call and the caller asked for information such as our Verizon account number and the last four numbers of the account holder's social security. Don't fall for these scammers!  If you think Tech support is calling, then you should ignore the call and then dial them directly yourself.

I have received numerous phone caqlls from this number.  It appears to be a pharmacy.  Yesterday alone, between y land line and cell, I was called five times!

Received a call today from this number asking me to take a short survey. I did take the survey, but then the caller asked me to give him my zip code and last 4 of social security # so they could apply a credit to my account. I said "no thanks" and he proceeded to tell me it was required and that his name is Mark Evans, Agent ID 8224 and I could call Verizon back to confirm. I said "no thanks, you can submit the survey without the credit" and he hung up on me while I was in mid-sentence. He had a very thick accent.

I then did a Live Chat on Verizon's website and the rep stated that she did not see any record of a call being made to my account, though she did confirm that is their correct number. I agree it sounds like these identity thieves are spoofing the number. I honestly can't believe it's been going on for so long that there's 39 pages of records for the issue and Verizon hasn't caught these guys. They're using their real number which is very scary.

He's not wrong... its easy to cause another number to show up on someone's caller ID.

I just got a call from it and it was from Verizon about my free visual voice mail trial and it was real as I signed up for it.

If you Google number Verizon has posted it's  a scam.
If you get a call pretend to be your congressman or senator; maybe if they get enough calls they'll do something. If nothing else one crook can do the other crook

I have been retired from Verizon (well, it was Bell Atlantic when I retired back in 1999) and I have only gotten one or two calls over the years letting me know Fios was being installed in my area. The number came up as Verizon and a local number to my area. I did ask to be removed from their calling list since I was not interested in it at that time. They complied and that was the end of it. They also came door to door with ID at another time and again, with ID and were polite when I said I was retired and not happy with the plans from Verizon and I wasn't interested again. Never again was I called or bothered or asked for specific information that was unrelated to the matter at hand.

Not once was I asked for my zip code nor the last four digits of my SS#. The real Verizon does not need to know that, they have your account number right there.

One of the first calls I've received on my cell.  Garbled, couldn't tell what they were saying.

I didn't recognize this number so didn't answer.  They did leave a voice message but it was only music when I retrieved the voice mail.

Welcome to the 30 day free trial of visual voice mail. I did not have to call back, because I am able to see the text, just like a text message. I don't know what happens after the 30 days but I deleted the voice mail.
