- AimeeThis is a scam. Do not reply or call back!
- Caller: Phony "Verizon Wireless"
- mdnWow... My CC was fraudulently charged $639.51 on 5/9/2012. The fraud department of my CC bank realized the problem immediately and stopped the transaction. I got a new CC and a letter listing the fraudulent charge. The Merchant info had this number. Looks like the problems associated with this number have been ongoing for YEARS!!! WTF??? Why don't the banks do something about this instead of cancelling the transactions and forcing their customers to get new cards and account numbers?

- bellew replies to af| 10 repliesI mis-dialed Verizon today and got this same scam. Apparently it's still up and running. 1 -800 922-0204 is Verizon but 1 -866 922-0204 is the scam.
- Brendan Walsh replies to Verizon CustomerSMS stands for "short messaging service," meaning "text messages."
- shrtron replies to effexI got the same call today! Did not answer it as I thought it suspicious> They left no message either
- JonnaSaid I had someone change info on my log in page for Verizon, not even a Verizon subscriber??
- Caller: Supposedly verizon
- stephen wartleyTell me y call me
- Caller: imtheboss
- John GiaimoI received a call form this number yesterday but did not answer.
- G FieldI just received a call from the same number( 800-922-0204). I didn't answer it figuring it was a telemarketing scheme. They also did not leave any kind of message. After reading the information on this site I sent a text back saying," do not call this number ever again or I will contact the FBI and the number is listed as a scam on the internet," I'm thankful for this site and everyone who works as a team to protect one another.
- Caller: Not known
- DataGirl| 1 replyThis is NOT a valid Verizon number. The ID says "technical support" and when I answered the caller said he was from Verizon, gave a name and badge number and said I was entitled to a discount on my phone bill for the month. When he asked for my full name, I hung up and called Verizon; they said they are not offering this discount and would not call and ask for your name.
- LS replies to DataGirlI got this same call. I verified information, but would not give the last 4 of my social security number. WHat are they after?
- Michael_F replies to non-believer| 12 repliesI think you're wrong, dude. This phone number appears on the Verizon Wireless support website. See for yourself.

This clearly IS a Verizon company phone number. - Michael_F replies to Linda| 4 repliesYou realize that the phone number is actually Verizon's number, right? And so you do realize that *everyone* charged by Verizon has this number show up on their bills, right? So it's not just people who have been "scammed" who will come across this number. Every Verizon customer in the country has the potential of coming in contact with this phone number. It is on Verizon's own website!
So, the point is, the phone number has nothing to do with the fraud you experienced and therefore should not be posted in this forum.
See for yourself: http://support [dot] verizonwireless (dot) com/faqs/Equipment/faq_troubleshooting {dot} html - Michael FI just talked to CUstomer Care - VZW Corporate SEcurity is already investigating this number and their claims...IT IS NOT VERIZON calling you....it is a Phishing Scam....do not give any information to anyone about your account. If any of you have been even remotely near a computer since the old AOL days, you'd know, Phishing for info scams are some of the oldest internet scams there are. Use some common sense people.....
- Caller: Phishing Scam
- Bull sh*t scamYes got called and got a recording saying to go to some website to accept your $100 credit notice they tell you to go to some other Verizon web site other than myverizon.com. Still called Verizon and they confirmed my suspicion so don't go to that web site cause you'll probably get your account hacked
- Caller: Verizon
- David replies to bellew| 7 repliesI just received the $140.00 phone call. It was from 800-922-0204. Fortunately, I was forewarned.
- David replies to Michael_F| 1 replyI take it that you have never heard about the software that changes the caller ID to whatever number you want it to be.
- C replies to David| 6 repliesI just received the $140 call as well. Seems the scam continues!
- Ashley replies to C| 5 repliesI just received it as well, the weird thing is, the number is a legitimate Verizon number if you look at their contact info on their site.
- Scam alertI just got a call from that #. A woman with a heavy Spanish accent said I was randomly chosen to complete a Verizon service satisfaction survey upon completion I will receive a 30% credit on my next bill. I took the 3 questions survey and then the woman wanted me to provide her my full name, number of phone lines on the acct, and zip code. I found it very odd, and questioned her since she called me that information should be available. She said her manager needs this information to confirm the caller. I was reluctant, but I provided her that info. Then she asked for the last 4 digit of the SSN. I said no way, and asked for her call back number. She said she can call back, I told her no I wanted her to provide me her call back number. She mumbled something like 800 222 000. I told her that is not enough digits then the call conveniently disconnected.
I called up Verizon. The rep said that is their customer service #, but there are no notes of such survey in the system. Nothing unusual had been charged to my account, but I will keep an eye on my bill. I think this is a scam, so watch out.- Caller: Unknown 800-922-0204
