- ShaneI get calls from this number for 2-step authentication verification codes when attempting to log into my Wells Fargo account on my PC (I can't get into my account on PC without those codes while the security feature is enabled), it's a legitimate number.
- Caller: Wells Fargo
- Call type: Valid
- Wells Fargo CustomerI am a Wells Fargo customer and the message I got on this number was definitely NOT from Wells Fargo. Keep in mind that callers can spoof the number you see on your phone so even if this is a legit number that in no way means that the caller is actually from Wells Fargo. Don't give any information to someone who calls you on the phone.

- AnonymousGot an email saying they needed to update my phone numbers. Since i don't have an account with them I'm pretty surr it is a scam
- MG replies to 520-631-5933I think it’s a fraudulent number. I googled this number after receiving an email allegedly from Wells Gargo that said my account name was changed. The email provided this number to call. I didn’t. Instead I emailed it to the bank’s fraud department. reportphish@wellsfargo.com
- j masterswells fargo retail department, but saying they don't send out mailers about changing account information or updates on accounts. They would personally call you.
- Caller: Zen - representative
- KixxyI called that number yesterday after i received a strange email regarding an account i had closed that day. It was a po rno line. I called WF. And they said that was one of their numbers. I would like to know if this happened to anyone else..

- dtOur answering machine received the call. No message was left. Their second call. Using a 803CID phone call blocker to block them now.
- Barbara replies to TTYI dont care who it is...I dont answer any calls from 800, 866 or 877 .
- EdI was sent an email supposedly from Wells Fargo telling me to call this number reference my online banking account. I do not bank at Wells Fargo so I have no accounts there
- StarrI received a email at my job from Wheels Fargo. Not Wells Fargo but Wheels Fargo, asking me to check my new statement which included a link that read “statements & documents” and a contact number 1-800-956-4442... I thought this was pretty funny knowing that I had never banked with a Wells Fargo, excuse me I meant Wheels Fargo in my life. Then to come on here and read ALL the different tactics they’re doing to try to WHEEL us in and rob us blind (You see what I done there 🤡) DONT FALL FOR IT.
- REALLY-LIKE I'M GOING TO GIVE YOU THAT replies to nellieIt's not wells fargo. Wells fargo told me it is a fraud email that has to be reported to phishing at wells fargo.
- JPI rec'd an email with this number on it saying to call if I had any questions. The email stated that Wells Fargo attempted to send me an email but failed to go through and I should go to the link on the page to "update my contact info." OK, if WF sent me an email at my email address and it failed, why did this one go through? I started looking up this number and see that it is an apparent scam as others have noted. I was suspicious of the email to begin with and this just confirms it.

- MTGot an email saying that Wells Fargo has a new level of online protection and
“Your account was suspended because we were unable to verify your information, submit your verification process.
Before we can review your account, please enable verification process to help us verify your identity.”
They list the 800 number to call with any questions. I guess my biggest question would be what account? Last time I used WF was in the 80s. TOTAL SCAM- Caller: Wells fargo
- Call type: Unwanted
- Brad| 1 replyJust received an email claiming to be from Wells Fargo. The email says as a safety measure we have suspended your access to Wells Fargo Online because we detected a possible unauthorized attempt to sign in on to your account. To regain access you'll need to restore your details if you haven't already done so. And to call this number 1-800-956-4442 if I have any questions. This email is 100% a scam. I never had any accounts with Wells Fargo so how can they suspend access to an account that they say is mine? I don't know how some of the people in this thread can say it is a legit Wells Fargo email and number when it is totally a scam.

- stuart replies to BradI got the same email today and I am a Wells Fargo customer. It is a scam, but they were tricky - the phone number is in fact legitimate, as are the links at the top and bottom of the page to the Wells Fargo website, but the link they want you to click on to 'restore account' is not.
- CindyG*FRAUD ALERT* This phone# is NOT Wells Fargo. They sent me another email (this is the second one this year) that my account has been suspended, to call this number. Beware - they will try and get your SS#. Do not call the number, although it looks legit it’s not! Instead, forward the email to reportphish@wellsfargo.com
