- David replies to whatever| 1 replyWow did I just go thru an ordeal! After getting the constant calls from the (503) number, I called it and did what it said. In our day and age the first thing they ask for is your credit card number. This is how WF identifies us, and it's kinda weird and scary. So I gave it to them, they read me a bunch of jargon about how my account was overdue. I didn't believe them, cause I never received my paper bill over the holidays. I demanded to speak to a manager and they hung up! I call back and get a similar sounding Asian girl, and I immediately ask where she is. Where are you? "Manila." What like the Philippines? "Yes." I said, thank you I think I'm fuct, and hung up. I've had my id stolen 2 times, and by this point I'm sure I've just sold my soul to some Filipino scam. So I immediately call the 800 number on my Wells Fargo card. I get this guy who sees the same overdraft fees, he explains that the (503) numbers that have called me 5 times a day are from the office next to his. A new "call out" service. My account so overdue $15 so I'm throughly pissed at this moment. I paid the account and considered closing my WF savings, checking and CC services TOMORROW. Be sure to get on their "NO CALL" list!!!!
- David again... replies to DavidThe other number is (503) 403-2674, 5034032674
That number makes you call 1-800-988-8019
A big trail of greedy [***]... And why is WF outsourcing to the damn Philippines?
I don't feel secure with my information floating around Manila!!!!!
:( - spinthis56| 1 replyI got a call from 800 988 8019 "Wells Fargo". The female voice said I was behind on some payment. I said, "Fine...Give me your phone number and I'll call you right back." She said, "Why do you want my phone number?" I asked, "Why wouldn't you want to give it to me?" So she stumbled around and finally gave me this number: 800 988 8019
I feel sorry for people who never see a RED FLAG waving briskly right in front of their ears!- Caller: Wells Fargo
- Call type: Debt collector
- Skyler RossThis number keeps calling me and my phone says it is suspected spam and the person wont give any info on why she wants to talk to me and i just keep hanging up, upon calling the number back it is wells fargo but i have nothing wrong with my account and i am 100% certain it is scam
- Caller: 'suspected spam'
- Call type: Debt collector
- Paul replies to tupper| 1 replyI just called it to remove my phone number, so it is real. It's most likely an outgoing number only, and when you call it back, your incoming call gets routed to the main switchboard automatically. That's how it works at my company.
It's not necessary a legit scam when people call phone numbers that SOMEONE else gave them, either deliberately incorrectly or incorrect by mistake. I just had my telephone number removed from the Wells Fargo collection list. It was my New Jersey number which rings through to my home in Canada, I've never had a Wells Fargo account. No-one has that number but me and the five "other/previous" owners of the number. I've been getting calls for people who have used that number for the last fifteen years before I did, so 23 years ago, and a few new ones who gave it as their current number.
A collection agency will use everything in their power to get their money, but they also know that people change phone numbers and that people move. They' not infallible. It's like everyone expects them to have instant constant access to updated address information. They don't.
It's a phishing scam when people call you and ask you to enter any information. They should already have it. It's not a scam just because they call you. They can misdial or have incorrect information too. - Paul replies to AnneI used that call-back number and got through to a live person. Did you call late at night? They might only be open certain hours.
- BJL| 1 replyEven though they claim to be Wells Fargo, they are lying. I called my Wells Fargo Bank on 4/24/2013. They have no record of this phone number in their system. It is a scam and it has been reported to Wells Fargo Fraud department. They call my underage teenager with a wrong name. He has had his phone number for five years.
- Caller: Wells Fargo (it's a lie)
- Bixy replies to NA| 5 repliesIts legit, but they are still bloodsuckers. Just declare BK and get them off your back. They have no heart, they have no conscience. They'll bleed you dry and ruin your credit on top of it. Fees upon fees is right. Just stop answering the phone when you see its their number. I lost my job in mid-2011, and have been living on savings to keep current on these payments, and now I'm in the same place, if I keep paying them, I'll be homeless.
Its the big banks fault the housing crisis happened, which is why there are no jobs, because the entire economy was supported by the housing industry. So eff 'em, they put us where we are, can't find work, barely enough to live on.
Great country, when the people running the country give these big banks billions in bail out money, and they just keep it. - Ticked in NCWells Fargo, said I owed them money, I DONT HAVE A ACCOUNT WITH WELLS FARGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Caller: 800-988-8019

- Cal ResidentThis number and a (503) number keep calling me claiming to be Wells Fargo. When I answer there is nothing and they hang up. Its a scam and now my phone goes off multiple times a day because of this crap. I don't even belong to Wells Fargo!!!
- Caller: Wells Fargo
- Dan GrunauI keep getting these calls on my cell phone. I never answer them. They may be from Wells Fargo as the other callers say, but I never answer them.
- Not a moron replies to Bixy| 3 repliesBlame the banks for your you being a sucker for getting into debt. It's your fault, people like you are what's wrong with this country. If there weren't suckers like you, they would never have gotten so big.
- RM1900Insisted I had an outstanding balance on my Wells Fargo Credit Card - told them i would need to verify knowing I have no balance. Called Wells Fargo Fraud Dept. they told me it was a phishing/scam call.
- Barbara freeman replies to Ryan| 1 replyI have got a few calls from this number. For you it may be true. But I don't have a credit Card or any loans from this Bank. If what you are saying is true why am I still getting the calls
- CBT60| 1 replySome may honestly think this is an OTHER THAN Well Fargo phone number. However, I personally have learned that it is Wells Fargo. If your getting this "punishment", ask yourself are you connected to Wells Fargo Bank in ANY WAY (c/cards, mortgage, etc.). If you ARE, then the callers ARE Wells Fargo and they DO engage in what can be called WAR DIALING - (calling several times a day, and at all times as well, to try and aggravate you into answering them).
While I would not suggest IGNORE the call especially if you know you have a debt problem, you can also consider doing what I do. Entering the number on my land line AND my call phone call block list. I chose this route because I am aware of what they are wanting, and from what account type. Lastly, be aware that Wells has a well of numbers to attack with, along with a computerized system that can in-phase and out-phase numbers all the time.- Caller: Wells Fargo Bank (services)
- Call type: Debt collector
